No one talks enough about the fact Jason was stabbed straight through the chest, like the sword went all the way through him and the wound started smoking, then it took multiple minutes I’m assuming to get him help and even then no one on that boat had any real medical experience, and then not even a few weeks later he dove into the ocean headfirst in the middle of a storm to help Percy with no real knowledge that he’d be able to 1. Breathe, and 2. Swim??? Like dude you are heavily injured, can not breathe under water, probably can’t move your arms without tugging at the HOLE ALL THE WAY THROUGH HIS CHEST CAVITY, and he STILL saved Percy’s life and had a heart to heart with him at the bottom of the ocean.

Imagine, you're just coming to terms with the fact that your four year old son is now thirty seven, he grew up as a hunter, a life you actively rejected for yourself and for him, he takes you to his home (the bunker of a society you thought was a myth) and your other son has left his blood all over the place. And then some random guy in a trenchcoat accosts you and instead of shooting him, your four year old thirty seven year old son calls him a friend and they embrace with a tenderness and devotion you likely didn't even share with your husband because (oh yeah) your entire relationship was set up by cupids in order to breed the vessels of the apocalypse.

big fan of whatever they had going on

i think a lot about how patrick and tashi’s fight was something that seemed big in the moment but really wasn’t, however it was enough to make both art and tashi leave him behind in the scale of their lives.

he was her boyfriend, he didn’t cheat, didn’t lie, he was there and she was talking about tennis instead of being intimate and it was her overreaction to his request that brought on the fight. so she didn’t bring her a-game to the game that caused the injury and she blamed him? and that was enough for his best friend of soooo many years to dump him too?

art and patrick, with a great history, friends since they were twelve not keeping in contact after one little fight that didn’t even involve him? patrick zweig, who wore the same shirt when he was at that hotel the first time tashi cheated. he missed her, it wasn’t out of the box that he missed her, she left him over some stupid fight and misplaced blame. patrick zweig who was finally committing to a girl having all of that AND his best friend leave him? over the pettiest little fight.

in this movie nobody is innocent. that’s a fact. not one of the three is without fault. but we can agree that they all have their innocences and things they did not deserve. patrick lost his girlfriend and his best friend in a fowl swoop to EACH OTHER. i think that’s a little devastating.
