A generous amount of snowflakes descended onto the freezing slush ground. Their [eye colour] eyes observed the outside through their window, the individual ingested the sensation in their heart and folded their arms over the windowsill. Unobstructed words, their attention was on the tiny piece of snow elegantly floating on its way to join the rest of the snow. 

‘‘Cold..’‘ Voice so hushed, hands heatedly rubbed the skin. There was a reason why the winter month frightened [Name] more than that, nobody in Tevyat had seen the fellow swordsman and one should realize they favoured December ever since. Showered with several presents, formed snow angels with their friends, along with baking goods - everything died down and everything came to nothingness. 

Dragging their feet to the kitchen, [Name] suggested to themselves that cocoa paste because challenging to make a drink for this month. At least.. To celebrate alone for the first time and the holiday was coming closer too. They never invited their friends anymore. 

The swordsman’s presence was requested by the excited funeral director one month ago.

A smile so contagious on the petite female’s face, their attention captured by the former archon behind the grinning prankster. He was at the table, sat and listened to the storyteller who conveyed the stories about the Geo archon. [Name]’s expression softened when the man sipped his significant tea, his active ears heeding attention towards Iron Tongue Tian. Those attracting eyes drew even red lines on the lower lids, the swordsman reminded his eyes of cor lapis which they had to climb over despite they were aware of how risky it was. 

[Name] observed the ombre brown hair tied in a low ponytail, they admired the consultant was neat and rich-looking enough in the crowd. They liked how that stern expression carried the gentleness within. They were in awe when he had a strong presence out of all Liyuen citizens with just one glance. 

They should keep their feelings to themselves, what’s the importance of confessing to the person they wished to hold close, to feel his touch, to feel his warmth, and to feel the love they ever wanted to experience from him when he never actually reciprocated their feelings?

Humiliation was the first feeling they had.

Rejection was expected in love. The person bit their bottom lip, enough to seek a small amount of blood from the freshly cut before Hu Tao snapped her fingers and waved her hand in front of the Liyuen swordsman. ‘’Are you listening, [Nickname]? Earth to [Nickname]?’’

Thoughts broke their focus. They had been staring at the man, [Name] never said anything but they knew he was the God of War, the former Geo archon, Morax, and Rex Lapis that retired as an average citizen here at Liyue, to become the consultant of Hu Tao and assisted her fully at Wangsheng Funeral Parlor. The swordsman witnessed what happened to Liyue months ago, that occurrence was eventful. It ended to serenity now and all they had to do was watch, they felt helpless. [Name] trained harder to become an excellent swordsman, why were they weak after the rejection?

‘’I’m listening,’’ The white lie came out naturally, they gulped their guilt as they watched the female funeral director continue with her daily talks.

Tears appeared in the corner of their eyes when the memory replayed for [Name] as their hands shuddered at the cold temperature of their body and the flames surrounding their heart burning them awfully. ‘’You’re so cruel, Zhongli. Too cruel.’’ 

Their eyes fluttered open to see that the snowflake resembled that one archon in their mind before they gazed at the untouched cocoa paste gripped between their palms. 

‘’How can you make me feel like this when you’re overly cold towards me?’’
