we’ve all heard of polio, a disabling and life-threatening disease caused by poliovirus, that ran rampant through the world before it was eradicated (in the west) with the introduction of a vaccine in the 1950s. enough time has passed that most of us, and most of our parents, have grown up without knowing people who survived polio.
what I bet you didn’t know about is something called Post-Polio Syndrome. it occurs in more than half of people who survive poliovirus, and it occurs decades later. year after people have lived through polio, years after they have “recovered,” they begin to struggle. they begin to decline. they experience pain and weakness and loss of function. they develop new disabilities, and see old disabilities worsen. and there is no cure, only management.
That’s what happens post poliovirus. It happens bc poliovirus causes lifelong damage, the extent of which is only revealed decades later. We are among the first generations to grow up not knowing people who live with the longterm consequences of poliovirus.
We will be among the first to find out what Post-Corona Syndrome looks like.

I, as a trans woman, have Issues and Problems with Phoebe Waller-Bridge & some stuff she’s written about womanhood in pretty bioessentialist ways (in otherwise really good tv shows) but I don’t know if I wanna post them here because I’m worried people will tell me I’m being Over The Top & clutching at straws as people always accuse trans women when they criticize cis women.

Never seen these before so of course I have to have these two crackheads on my page
figured i’d take a stab at making some prompts. Tag me if you use them!! I wanna see what you make :>>>
1. Pick a year, maybe the year you/your friend/your crush was born. Find out important things that happened that year. The top song played on the radio, the movie that won at the oscars, any notable inventions?
2. Pick a color. Do everything in that color. Try different shades of the same color, or do it all in one shade for hard mode
3. Draw a self portrait without looking at yourself on one page, and another one while seeing your reflection/a picture of yourself
4. Make a playlist of your current favorite songs / use their lyrics
5. What’s your favorite room? Your bedroom, a class room? Why do you like it? What’s in it? Draw it.
6. draw an alternative world. Maybe it’s the same as our current word but some people have horns? Maybe it’s a world entirely encompassed in an hourglass?
7. Are you superstitious? If yes, write/draw about you biggest superstition. If no, write/draw about one that interests you.
8. Where would you go on a roadtrip? Write/draw about the locations you’d love to see.
9. Write/draw about how you feel at 3am.
10. Whats your first ever memory?
11. Sit in front of a mirror and make 5 funny faces and draw yourself.
12. Write / draw your favorite myth.
13. Draw your hands
14. Collect all the ‘left over’ bits for a week: receipts, fruit stickers, notes, wrappers. Then make a journal page out of them.
15. Print out one of your favorite poems. Cut each word out and rearrange it. It probably wont make any sense but it will still somehow feel like your favorite poem.
megumi, grabbing yuuji’s face: if you die again–
yuuji, gently bumping his forehead against megumi’s: you’ll kill me. I know.
nobara, like two feet away, forced to watch all of this: I hate gay people so fucking much it’s unreal
The fact that Sweet Home is named after a song Yoon plays on a broken guitar with four strings she found, that she makes up and Hyun-Su says it reminds him of home...is so poetic.
This series that is rooted in gore, despair, loss and tragedy. A series where monsters roam and kill all because of human desire. Names itself after a song a broken girl made up on a broken guitar with only four strings.
It shows that even though loss and grief and devastation runs wild it does not consume everything, there is always hope, there is always humanity.
Humans are flawed beings, they cheat, steal, kill, wreck but they make songs, they create art, they dance and they smile. Life is more than our low moments, life is the small moments that makes us feel at home. No matter how few and far between.
♥️♥️♥️
Love that for him
