Can you I ask what the guys look for in a s/o and also please add what they need in a relationship because sometimes what we want is different from what we need. ❤️❤️❤️
I’ve done what they look for here, so without further ado…
2p America: Someone who can keep him out of danger when adrenaline tells him otherwise.
2p England: Someone who isn’t a perfectionist, because he puts enough pressure on himself as is.
2p China: Someone who will support and encourage him with dropping his vices, rather than someone who currently shares them.
2p France: Someone who will gently get him out of his comfort zone, and who can easily empathise with others.
2p Russia: Someone with a “work hard, play harder” mentality.
2p Canada: Someone who can get him out of his unhealthy habit of socially isolating himself.
2p North Italy: Someone who will calmly tell him when he’s overreacting and when his temper is boiling over something trivial.
2p Germany: Someone who can take responsibility when social situations get out of hand, even if they’re having fun themselves.
2p Japan: Someone who will call him out when he’s being unnecessarily rude.
2p South Italy: Someone who isn’t materialistic and can give him a reality check when needed.
2p Prussia: Someone patient enough to help him through his struggles with mental illness.
2p Austria: Someone who will read into/entertain his interests even if they aren’t shared.

I love kids they’re all like.. “when i grow up i’m gonna be an astronaut and a chef and a doctor and an olympic swimmer” like that self confidence! That drive! That optimism! Where does it go

One of best things about my job as a science editor is that any crazy idea I start wondering about – whether triggered by something I see on my commute, a current event that’s in the news, or best of all a conversation with my young kids – I can call up an expert and ask her or him to break it down for me, and you.
It seems like our readers enjoy this type of “I’ve always wondered … ” article too. My most-read story of the past year was by an entomologist making the case to bug-haters that by killing a spider they might actually be making their homes more hospitable to insects the spider would have eaten and eliminated for them.
Below, a handful of my favorites from 2018. But curiosity isn’t bound by the calendar, so here’s to a new year of everyday science.

(1) Yao offers to bring Yong Soo out to spicy seafood hotpot for dinner bc damn that boys running himself thin as host. He goes to find Yao later and of course Kyu is standing there next to him, Hong Kong sitting against a nearby wall; they catch Taiwan and Japan on their way out and all six end up going out together. The lack of politics keeps the atmosphere warm despite the cold. The twins have teamed up in declaring their teams superior to Kikus and Yao pipes in about his being the very best;
(2) cheerful banter ensues all around the small table and eventually it all gives into praises and laughter. Movies and dramas get spoke of between talk of the Olympics and even a few good memories from centuries ago get slipped in. Sang Kyu says the already spicy dish could use more chili powder which gets a rise out of a few of the others and Yong Soo pushes more of the food in his twins direction as subtly as he can manage. Taiwan, Yong Soo and Hong Kong all seem to take a million pictures.
(3) Yong Soo is so tired from work but being here, surrounded by his closest family members in such a blissful scene, eating a talking together as if they did so every night, he feels better than he has in a century. For a moment he even wonders if this is what it feels like to be a regular human. In the morning he finds that Taiwan has tagged him in a series of pictures from the prior night and he loses his breath when he sees it-
(4) -Somehow she’d managed to capture the most perfect picture of him and Sang Kyu, shoulder-to-shoulder, cheeks red from the cold and noses dripping from the hotpot, natural smiles gracing them both in a moment of laughter. He saves the picture to multiple locations, never wanting to lose it, and his eyes begin to water when he thinks of what could have been.
This has been sitting in my inbox for several days because I just knew I had to draw it, and every time I read it I just about cry. ;u; Thank you so much for this wonderful little story, anon!
All the way from Virginia to Oregon! How long was that trip? Overland or did you take the Panama route?
Which went a little something like this:
^Richmond VA.
Then down to a Virginian port city.
Where he would travel by boat,
Down to Panama, where he would take the trans-Panamanian railway to the Pacific coast,
In a train that probably looked like this one^. Then back on a boat up to-
San Fransico. Where he stayed for a few weeks with a friend looking for a job.
And when he did, probably caught a steamer up the coast and upstream like this one^. To Kinnik, which looks kinda like this:
He’s ready for it to be over.
The overland route to Oregon was the more popular, but Alfred’s got a bit of money; so he can afford to go the less physically grueling southern passage. Can’t find a source, but it probably took at least/more than a month.
