Summary:

Hawks walks in every morning and orders a matcha latte with fresh whipped cream like it’s her only drink. Dabi stares, Hawks blinks her twinkling amused eyes in response and drops her polite greetings and one to two minutes of obligatory small talk before they continue on their way, Dabi doomed to trace her around campus even when she’s not ordering matcha lattes before her very eyes.

One look at her, one glance of Hawks’ bushy golden brow raised Dabi’s direction, subtly hers, all that’s regrettably ever hers, as amusement tints in the reflection of gold and Dabi is—gone.

“Staring again, princess?” Her voice is light as the spring skies, teasing like Dabi doesn’t look like she just woke up.

She did.

something that isn't necessarily a headcanon but a silly thought:

misturi isn't the only pink and green character in demon slayer.

the other character, you ask ? it's sanemi. he's not bright pink and green like kanroji, but he's defo got it, guysssssss

he's lowkey pink and green, like in some of the official coloured manga covers, the highlights for his white hair are like a baby pink or peach if u want :

like u can't tell me that's not pink hair he's got there !!

and the green ? that's his breathing technique, it's very much green.

anyways I just thought the pink highlights make him seem a little less serious and scary, and if he did actually have pinkish hair, i feel like the demon slayer corps would poke fun at him more. maybe tengen more than the lower ranks . his hair colour does NOT change his intimidating aura to weaker slayers,

it's also kinda funny bc u look at the og pink and green character for ds and it's kanroji, the sweetest and most bubbly character they have; then u see sanemi who acts like a rabid dog when he gets mad but has slightly pink hair, like it just makes me giggle since the image in my head is so unserious

anyways my rant is over, and pls no hate. if u don't like my random thoughts, it'll ruin my fun 😭

#dabihawks Hawks, who's not the fastest hero who sits at number two, but the people's fastest vigilante, who crashes hero galas and every overly lascivious extravagances and press conferences that top heroes hold, to steal the food and all of their riches to distribute to the poor. His prime target, the number two flame hero.

And rising pro-hero Dabi, who watches him do it without fail, every time. Something between annoyance but impressed and confusingly fond, another purposely slowed step to not catch him.

(He could catch him if he tried, is what Dabi tells himself.)

But it is his father, so maybe vigilante Hawks is on to something. He's never approved of the waste that top heroes spend. Most definitely not his father's annual celebrations, so if he turns a blind eye, there's really no harm here, right?

And if Hawks lounges against a table at the annual bash, no eyes' on him except for Dabi's, as he bites into an apple, Dabi can't deny that he looks good doing what he does.

"Here to rob the poor old man again?" Dabi greets, for the hell of it. Not because he's not already sure of the other man's intentions. Innocent until proven guilty... except Hawks is always guilty.

Hawks snorts as he throws out a hand and props up a knee, leather pants stretching against the pose and Dabi's eyes stray too long between his legs. His hand dangles off the knee as he waves, "This what you guys call poor?"

Dabi laughs, sloshing the liquid around the glass of champagne in his hand. "Nah, but someone's gotta give him a little pity. He'll be bled dry someday if you keep coming for him."

"Will he?" Hawks muses lazily and takes another bite of the apple, the crunch of the fruit catching its juices against the corner of his mouth. Dabi licks his own lips. "And what of the people outside, already empty? I rather think I'm not bleeding him dry fast enough."

Dabi agrees, he does, but he's also a hero who's supposed to discourage criminal behavior. And yet the words don't come out that way.  "So work faster," Dabi offers. "You're the fastest out there, aren't you? Or is that name just the press getting it all wrong?"

"Who knows?" Hawks' lips quirk into a grin. "But if I didn't know any better, I'd think you're encouraging stealing, Dabi."

"I'm a hero," Dabi repeats flatly, but it sounds weak even to his own ears. He doesn't move to arrest Hawks. He doesn't step in to stop him, not even with the chance that presents itself. He doesn't have an answer either, to generational poverty and the poor that don't have enough to eat. He wished he did, wishes Hawks, wasn't right in his own fucked up way.

Hawks jumps off the table, finished apple core tossed into a nearby bin. And then he's at Dabi's side lightning fast, blink and he'd miss it, voice sliding temptations like the gravest of a deadly sin against his ears. "Guess I'd better get to work, lest you get any other ideas. But if you're ever having a change of heart, you could... join me."

Dabi blinks and there's a whirlwind of feathers and a gust of wind, something more than the beat of his heart and the twitch of arousal that's distantly confused. Hawks is gone, a single feather left behind. His glass of champagne and the wallet against his pockets, missing.

The entirety of the banquet table too, stripped bare. All that remains, the polished wood but not a single bite.

The crowd in the background break out in gasps and uneven chatter between shock and disarray at the sudden lack of food, their missing wallets and expensive jewelry. As if they'd attended without noticing the annual reputation that these events often held now. Daylight robbery, from theirs truly.

Real because, how can you forgive a villain who's killed 30+ civilians in cold blood, but not a man who's actively trying to ammend what he broke years ago ??

Both are terrible, by the way. Endeavor shouldn't get away with abuse, of course, but what will clear his name again ? Like, what does he have to DO for you to be satisfied 🫵?? Like where is the line drawn if you can forgive an active serial killer, but not an abuser who wants to atone for his actions ??

There's just so much nuance to it, it's not black and white, like with villains, sure they kill people, but they're also actively dismantling the society that shunned them. Most people can see why the villain feels justified. Endeavor abused his family, but he's trying to ammend that. Why can't people just see it for what it is mannnnn 😭

He's literally willing to step out of their lives if it puts them at ease because he now understands how much he put them through, that he doesn't deserve to be a part of their lives anymore because he ruined the first half of them.

Usually, when people want a redemption arc, the WHOLE POINT of the redemption is for that character to understand where they went wrong. And then the next step is for the character to ammend their mistakes.

IS THAT NOT WHAT ENDEAVOR IS DOING ??

just saw another endeavor hate post so please let me reiterate again: i love endeavor. you will never take this fucked up old man away from me. i will be writing endeavor fic one of these days and i hope it makes everyone who hates him mad

call me crazy if you want but i believe that supporters of villain redemption can’t complain about endeavor being redeemed. and everyone should in some respect support villain redemption because that’s something of a thesis throughout the show (i.e., all these people needed was someone to reach out to them). but if you can redeem a killer of dozens (or hundreds, or thousands) and yet can’t stomach a man who is doing everything he knows how to heal what he hurt? [points at door] go away

“kats he abused his—” i don’t care. do i need to bring back my post about how forgiveness is essential to one’s own growth. even if they don’t forgive him, he’s fine with that because he’s not trying to improve to win their forgiveness. he’s trying to improve because deep down he’s a good person. and that, sirs and madams, is what i care about

in short: endeavor i love you and the fandom can pry that love from my cold dead hands
