Vibrating with excitement to get to this point
Book 6 Jason š¤ book 12 Clive
I finally have more power than I ever dreamed possible, but Iām still riding the high of righteous battles where I was the underdog so I donāt realize how awful I am being towards people below me in power.
Can we bring back The Game?
For people who donāt know, there is no way to win The Game. You can only lose. And you lose by thinking about it. When you lose, you announce āI lost the gameā and therefore everyone else around you loses as well.
I just feel like this is a fun little part of how I grew up that we should pass into kids today. Letās bring back people shouting āI lost the game!ā In class.
Also, btw, I lost the game.
Jason keeps wanting to sit them down for a talk, but Clive keeps avoiding it. He even starts telling Belinda to lead Jason in what to do in the lab- he starts respecting the hierarchy where the PhDs and postdocs are supposed to be guiding him.
I feel like Jason sets up a trap (poorly conceived plan) where he sets up a giant dinner. Gets candles and makes all of Cliveās favorite foods. He prints out his old text conversations with Farrah about liking him.
Farrah is adamant against this plan, but Jason gets Belinda to send Clive home early one day.
A modern day AU where Clive is a lonely researcher and Jason works part time at a dumpling soup shop and at an office supply store.
Clive only goes out for three things - food, office supplies, and basic necessities. Somehow he runs into Jason doing all three of these. And somehow, the chef/server who will let Clive rant about his research, coworkers, the university (all while looking very interested), remembers his name and says hi to him every time they see each other.

The title is āTalk Astral Magic to Me.ā
Maybe itās pre magical disaster earth where itās still mostly under wraps but Jason somehow finds out. Clive is one of those people intent on figuring out how to level up without monster cores (he hates the icky feeling of monster core auras).
My other ideas were vaguely:
Following the plot of the books from a pining Clive perspective (but that would be LONG)
Outworlders are much more rare and Jason gets kidnapped by the Magic society for research soon after getting his essences. Clive, being their lead Astral Magic researcher, gets put onto studying him but has (obvious) ethical concerns and breaks him out.
I thought of a fantastic fic name. Now what about the plotā¦
reblog if youāve read fanfictions that are more professional, better written than some actual novels. Iām trying to see something
"[I]tās soĀ weirdĀ that we pick up on fanfic, of all things, as the archetype of base fiction. We might as well choose novels about mathematicians, or books that have gimmicky chapter titles. Fanfic is just fiction that has an element of criticism to it, fiction that openly responds to other fiction. Thatās all. Oh, thereās a little more to it than that; itās generally also fiction you canāt sell, which is important, and there are common tropes to it, as Iāve said, but at heart, itās just fiction that centers the idea of interpretation. Some of itās great and some of itās bad. The fact that a book is part of a genre is not a predictor of its quality."
So the one good thing about traveling is that you have a lot of time to draw if you bring your stuff.
Do you know that Dustin Kettering has like zero description in the books, the closest you get is his ice powers ect, and his cousin being huge like him.
Trust me, I looked through all 11 books I had available to me⦠so I have decided to make up a design for him.
I know he is a sheilder, but he creates his own armor, so I did not feel like kitting him to much out.
Updated Thadwickās outfit a bit and Neilās, nothing to crazy.
Either way, hope you like it.
Character interactions are based off the fanfiction Iām working on, they definitely are not cannon, hahaha.
āClive gave a frustrated groan and ran a hand over his face, feeling the stubble.ā
Stubble? STUBBLE?!
And then Clive invites him away for a little tea date only to get cockblocked by a diamond ranker š
(Also now I want Jason to shave Clive. Take care of him when heās gone too far down the research hole. Help him bathe and dress into his pajamas. Make sure he eats.)
Iāve been around for a really long time in various fandoms, and no one ever writes this stuff down. Iāll start. Please add to the list. We canāt expect people to followĀ ārulesā they donāt know exist.Ā

if you like something, reblog it. Help the artist get their work out there in front of more people. Share the joy that it brought you.Ā
if you want more of it, support it. This can be via commissions, reblogs, recommending the artist to other people, shouting in the tags, or sending the artist asks/messages.Ā
if you hate it, keep scrolling. Keep the hate in a message window with a friend, not in the artistās notes.Ā
if you want to use it, ask permission. Artwork is beautiful and you want to show it off. But please ask the artist before you throw it into your header or your icon.Ā
if you use it, give credit. And not just a post where you sayĀ āDo you like my new icon? X made it!ā. Put it in your blog description, that way when someone rolls around your blog three months from now, they alsoĀ know where your icon/header came from.Ā
if you appreciate it, donāt repost it. Reblog the artistās post instead of making one of your own. Let themĀ see all of the excited tags in the reblogs and replies or commentary that people add on. If you come across something on a google image search, try to trace it back to the owner. If someone tells you who the artist is, credit them - but also try to find and reblog their original post.
if you like something, reblog it. Help the author get their work out there in front of more people. Share the joy that it brought you.
if you want more of it, support it. Kudos are great, but if you want more of the thing you like, you should comment. Subscribe to the story or the author. Send them a message about how much you like what they wrote.Ā
if you read it, kudos it. Or give it a thumbs up. If you want the author to write more things like that, let them know - even if you canāt comment!Ā
donāt demand content. Be patient. Stories take time. You can encourage without being demanding. Show your love for whatās there without telling them to post more often.Ā
be gentle with criticism. Some people want it and some people run away from it. If you donāt know what type of person the author is, itās best not to go there.Ā āIf you canāt say something nice, donāt say anything.ā
ship and let ship. You love your ship and other people love theirs. No one needs toĀ āwinā when weāre all going to end up in tears anyway.Ā
if you hate it, stay out of the tag. This has two meanings: 1) donāt deliberately put hateful commentary in a tag and 2) if youĀ hate a tag, donāt go and read through that tag just to make yourself angry
if someone makes you something, appreciate it. Read and comment the fic. Like and reblog the artwork. Pimp it out and tell them how much you loved it. Itās a gift, treat it like one.Ā
if itās a gift, put some effort into it. You signed up for that exchange three months ago and now itās a week before you have to send the gift and you donāt have the time or the inclination to do the thing. Well too bad. Someone out there has been working hard in your gift, so you should do the same for them.Ā
none of us areĀ ābetterā than anyone else. Weāre all trash for our particular show/film/book/ship/artist/what-have-you. My fave is no better than yours and yours is no better than mine.Ā
actors are not their characters.Ā They are people. Treat them like people.Ā
