I’m saying this AS a deku stan. my literal favorite character in the whole goddamn world. what HAPPENED to him?
where is the "kacchan and everyone else" deku…
"what would kacchan do?"
"in the heat of battle I can't help but mimic you because you're my image of victory"
"all might was my hero, but you were the one actually in my life"
“I always chased after you”
"I can't imagine a world in which kacchan doesn't exist"
the "control your heart" deku.
the deku that only ever looked at katsuki with an awestricken, admirable expression. the deku that was so obsessed with katsuki.
katsuki was deliberately targeted by the villains because of this… I liked that deku was flawed in this way. that he prioritized someone in his life that was awful to him in the past. it’s one of the things that made him so interesting! that he was SO hopeful and so determined to be friends with katsuki again. (it added a comedic contrast to their dynamic too. like ‘wow he still wants this guy in his life so badly despite the bullying?’ YES.)
deku fans, deku haters, EVERYONE used to have something to say about his katsuki obsession. it was a repeated, central discussion for YEARS. even in parodies by non-shippers, deku’s katsuki obsession was constantly poked fun at. even if you hated bkdk you couldn’t deny how dedicated deku was to katsuki.
WHAT HAPPENED????
JAYCE AND VIKTOR
ARCANE 2.09 — "The Dirt Under Your Nails"
I know it’s cannon that Snape has/had an accent when he was younger because of where he grew up but I don’t see enough people talking about it and I like to headcannon that it’s a bit stronger/more obscure than it actually is.
Snape didn’t go to a private school when he was younger like Lily did, so he never knew how to speak “proper English”, therefore Lily has to translate him to others.
It’s the first indicator that he’s not a pureblood to the other slytherins, they make it their life goals to repeat words he “mispronounces”
Lupin can understand him clearly because he traveled so much he knows a bit of everything. He even says a few things the same as him.
Potter tried to make fun of his accent exactly once and was very quickly put in his place by Lily who reminded him she talks the same when she’s comfortable around people which he reply’s “that’s not true you don’t talk like that around me” which just just says exactly and moves on.
Snape is forced to learn “proper English” by Malfoy/Regulus/Mulciber. He hates it and purposefully disobeys them during “class” but out in public he does try to talk like them.
When he’s older he perfectly trained himself to speak proper, however anytime he’s even slightly upset it comes out full force.
Nearly every every order meeting has him slipping back to his accent. Lupin likes to pretend it’s because he’s finally learning to trust people.
the most wasted potential uaf ever had was the dagin arc, specifically the gwen possesion stuff. i need intrigue. psychological horror. a redheaded girl adorning the forever halls, swallowing swords and felling cities... or something
season 4 spoilers 🤗
I'm perfectly normal about them😩😩😩
fanfiction truly being the savior for everyones sanity
A truce?
i knew it was time to get off tiktok for the night when i saw a post where someone said they would feel 100% safe in a room alone with snape and 100% unsafe in a room with james or sirius....😐
James Potter stans will really look at a privileged boy with a loving family and close group of friends, torment and torture another kid because he finds it funny, and write it off as "oh it's just teenagers being teenagers".
And at the same time, see a boy who was relentlessly abused for his whole childhood, was never safe or protected, was vulnerable enough to be taken in by a cult and carried his trauma-based anger into adulthood because he never had the space or support to heal, and they'll act like he's the devil incarnate.
Make it make sense. There's nothing "Oh just teenagers" about what James and co did to Severus. He chose cruelty for cruelties sake and there's no indication that that attitude ever changed. Severus on the other hand, with everything he'd been through, still tried. He recognised the mistakes he made, he carried that guilt and he fought for years, through anger and fear, to make it right.
