"no reason, it's just hot"
“I don’t know what the fuck the two of you have been doing in this house, but it reeks of sex.”
“Only the surface of it,” Rhys whispered, hands still shaking as he ran them down his face. “Fuck.”
Rhys snarled. “It is bad, For so many gods-damned reasons, it is fucking bad.”
Rhys’s eyes simmered; the stars whithin them winked out. “Fuck you.”
“Like a give a fuck about Tamlin right now.”
“Get Nesta out of this city. Right now.” Rhys’s power rumbled in the room like a rising storm. “Before I fucking kill her.“
bro just bc annabeth is white in the books and Leah isn't doesn't give you the right to bully her for it. that child has feelings goddammit.
I think first and foremost this fandom needs to remember that everyone has faults. And by everyone, I mean the people within this fandom, the characters in ACOTAR, and SJM herself. I think that we need to remember that despite all the character’s faults, we kept reading. We kept reading because we like the plot, we like the inner circle, we like Feyre, Rhysand, Cassian, Nesta, Azriel, Mor, Emerie, Gwyn… we like the universe that Sarah J Maas has created. (Anf if you’re that group of people that reads for the sake of hating it or only read on because of so and so character, that’s okay too.) At the end of the day, all of us still read on. It doesn’t matter how problematic you think Sarah J Maas, she still deserves our thanks for creating a universe that we love, characters that we relate with, and a community that we get to share in. People come into this fandom because they have something to say about the book, not to argue over who’s right and who’s wrong. It’s fine for a huge fandom to not have a generally agreed on opinion, it’s fine for people to share theories, opinions, love and hate certain characters, find certain actions problematic, that is totally fine and is what the fandom is for. But a fandom is supposed to be a loving and accepting community, and when you see people leaving this fandom, leaving social media, shouldn’t we also self-reflect? When you see such a clear line between pros and antis, so many people blocking each other, so much hate, isn’t time to do something about it?
Everyone has good intentions and I know that. When it's no longer about the ships and the theories, everyone in this fandom is the sweetest person. But it's always about the ships and always about the problems, and there's so much hate isn't it time to just wonder why? I dont think it's any single person's fault. Sarah J Maas is human, she doesn't wake up one day and decide that the abuser that people characterize Rhysand as should get together with the heroine. Or that it's such a beautiful day for her main characters to be neglectful rulers who are so selfish that they had a bargain to die without regard for their people.
I get that authors should be called out for poor representation or some other sorts of "problematic actions" but I think this fandom has overanalyzed the books to a point where everything is problematic and everything is either this or that and if it's not it's Sarah J Maas's fault it's that person you just blocked's problem. And maybe I'm being naive and maybe this is what the freedom of speech and all that crap entails. But other fandoms aren't like this. Other authors have faults too, but they're never overanalyzed to this point. People love certain characters over others too, but they don't have the entire fandom divided because you either like Nesta or you don't.
And I think that just because you can filter out anti tags and "the block button is right there"... is that really any better?
This isn't right. This isn't a community.
And I honestly don't even know what tags to use at this point because it's not gonna reach the target audience regardless because either the anti tags are blocked or the pro tags are blocked and there's fucking wars with actual people dying right now and we're fighting over fictional characters. And I really want to be nice and fair and reason with people and actually DO SOMETHING instead of just talking about it, but I am also so, so mad.
Xaden yelling "WELL THE FUCK AWARE" at Violet is honestly so funny to me. Like that is PEAK exasperated husband energy.
the hypocrisy of western people telling average russians to go protest while gloating about our savings becoming monopoly money and cheering for sanctions that leave us stranded with a totalitarian government that treats these protests as treason 😳

rank the men in acotar: rhys, cassian, azriel, lucien, tamlin, helion, eris, jurian, kallias
Rhys - 13/10 everything he says is 🤌. Eats paint is a bonus. Will thank Rhysie for walking over my face.

Kallias - 10/10 who doesn't like a snow king?
Azriel - 9/10 dark and moody 🥰 but talk about your feelings smh
Cassian - 7/10 too self righteous for my taste but still hot
Eris - 5/10 daddy issues. but not bad on the eyes.
Jurian - 3/10 saved feyre in acowar. but bonus points for surviving with only a finger bone and eyeball
Lucian - 2/10 no finger bone no bonus. be a bitch to my high lady and i'll be a bitch to you
Tamlin - 1/10 one point for the entertaining high lords meeting. otherwise.. "your hair is clean" no other explaination needed
Chapter 3 is in the works (finally) !! in the meantime, here's a snipet from one of the later few chapters:
Read Chapter 1 and 2 on AO3
“It’s not fair to the both of us.” Tears. Those were tears streaming down her face. “It’s been a century. Beron would never know. It’s for your own good too,” he continued. Oh practical, practical Helion. So different from the male she’s gotten to know. A part of her wants to fall to her knees and beg him for his forgiveness, to stay, and tell him that she was so, so, sorry. But Beron’s cruel face, and the faces of her beautiful children, flashed before her eyes. “Please.” She didn’t know what… or whom she was begging for. She grabbed his arm, one hand lifting up to touch his face, only for him to shake her off. “You have to let me go. Someone will see us.” “I love you.” She choked out. But Helion was already gone. And somehow, she knew this was not another one of their fights, where they’ll make up and slip away in the middle of the night. There will be no more secret touches, inside jokes whispered against her skin. No more glances across the room and arms brushing against each other on the dance floor. There will be no more of Helion Spellcleaver, the only male she has ever truly loved, and who showed her what it meant to be loved.
Can we stop saying Feyre would rather go have drinks with Mor and Amren than with Elain? Or that Nesta prefers deep talking with Gwyn and Emerie? Because, helloo, that’s the point. That’s what friends are for.
Can we not forget the Archeron sisters are in fact sisters first. Not friends. It’s great being able to say your sister is your best friend, but that’s not always the case. They are family before anything else. They’ve starved together, shared one bed for years, and know each other’s ugliest sides.
Friends and siblings are two different concepts. You get to choose the people you want to spend time with, your "inner circle" literally, but you don’t get to choose your family.
Doesn’t it feel so random and pointless, comparing Nesta & Gwyn to Nesta & Feyre? Or Feyre & Mor to Feyre & Elain?
The Darkling has a sweet tooth,he plays the violin, braids his horse’s hair, has tears in his eyes every time he talks to Alina and you are telling me I am supposed to hate him cause he is the big bad VILLAIN?!?!
reposting again bc damn this is true & also i see more and more "acotar moral righteousness stuff" and im just sick of it
CAN'T YOU GUYS JUST FUCKING ENJOY THE DAMN FANTASY BOOK?????
Honestly I'm tired of all acotar discourse centering on moral righteousness and who is good and who is bad. Like leave me alone and let me enjoy my shitty fantasy novels without having to justify why I like it and the characters in it. Acotar is not a moral statement, it doesn't stand for anything. It's simply just a fucking story that, let's be honest, is made for stay at home wine moms who want to imagine fucking a dark haired bat boy and if you disagree youre probably wrong.
