Also, my point wasn't that every 30 year old who yearns for someone fresh out of highschool seems to manipulate them, but such a naive person isn't clearly able to tell they are manipulating or even that it's wrong.

My source says it stops at 25, but ok. Also, it's a lot easier for 30 year olds because of their life experience compared to a 20 year old. Even disregarding life experience, a lot of times, older people may have positions in their career that they can use to manipulate people fresh into their career who want to get off on the right foot.
Further, I don't know why you're arguing with such fervor that 20 year olds and 30 year olds are at the same level of manipulation, but it's not true. i think there's one magician out there with actual magic and he's convinced most of the other magicians are also just pretending it's tricks. but they're not and he's the only one and he'll never know or tell anyone about it. because he thinks well if none of the other ones are saying anything surely there's gotta be some sort of society to keep this secret and i don't want any trouble.
This doesn't apply to 100% of people, but I feel if you took a 20 and 30 year old, one's brain would, firstly, be a lot more developed than the other(https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3621648/), and two, be a lot more experienced in things like manipulation, unlike the young 20 year old.

I think their point is, though, that the lives of a 19 year old and a 28 to 30 year old are way different, because one could be in college and is fresh out of highschool, lending to their naivety, while the 30 year old (I like round numbers better) has a lot more experience in life, so it's hard to relate insofar as events happening to them.
