I think The Bear hits close to home for a lot of people because it forces us to ask the question of "can I escape the cycle of being like the person before me?" whether that's a parent, a mentor, or some other random person who shaped formative years of your life.

There's something so heartbreaking and frustrating about knowing the way you were treated was wrong, but being so comfortable in the routine you created to adapt to that environment that you don't know who you'd be without all the anger, sadness, and grief.

Who are we without our pain? (I don't know). Will someone hurt us again the moment we try to find happiness? (Maybe, but we still have to try).
