Define Your Grind
penance comes in many forms
indistinguishable to a muddled mind
thoughts laced with egregious apathy
perhaps unprepared to weather life’s storms
{}
take heart, young one, look up and breathe
this invisible wonderment is for all that seek
your worth is not derived from gravity or time herself
let your hands dig through soft soil to uncover the seeds underneath
{}
be still, darling, your shell is your own
she will protect and guide you for as long as you roam
treat her kindly, she’s all that you have
reach up and stretch your skin, you’ve found your backbone
