Chapter 1

The years moved by much too fast for your liking. You were older than you were willing to admit, and the years had been hard. Time moved so oddly- it was so difficult and slow when it was happening, but when you looked back, it was as if it sped by like a freight train.

Today was your first day at your new job-  you were 27 and you’d been waiting your whole life for this day to finally come. After hearing stories about your father all through your life; catching the monsters in the dark as well as those that hide in plain sight… you wanted to be a superhero too. And lucky for you, you had a certain proclivity towards reading people. So, you became a profiler. And after years of grueling school, training and fighting to earn your place with no one knowing the legacy in your blood line, you did it.

No, those weren’t tears in your eyes… it was just dusty in the bullpen, that was all. You could feel him everywhere. You knew this was where he lived and breathed and worked for so much of his life. Your mom never understood how you ended up being so understanding about never seeing him, while your brother spent so much of your lives incredibly bitter and angry at him for “abandoning” you both. You always told Stephen that dad spent every minute of every day trying to make the world a safer place for the two of you to grow up in. And now you could finally continue his life’s work.

- MED. SEC-5C23. In the event of exposure to chemicals, substances, viruses, or magic shit (see: hoodoo, voodoo, sorcery shit, weird space shit, wizarding world of copyright characters shit) of an unknown origin, whether symptoms appear in an immediate fashion or not, and in the case of the subject not dying on the spot, a QUARANTINE of at least forty-eight (48) hours is required and expected to be maintained by any individual(s) affected. QUARANTINE being defined as: a state, period, and/or place of isolation in which individuals are removed from the presence of baseline healthy and otherwise unaffected individuals to prevent the further spread of contagious infections, diseases, or unknown illnesses.

    (1.) Individuals include any member of the team, signed or temporary. Including, but not limited to: aliens, Gods, mutants, Atlanteans, anthropomorphic creatures of any kind, super soldiers, genetically enhanced creatures, and regular old humans (royals, billionaires, SHIELD agents, and ordinary folk, etc.).

        (a.) Not included: Artificial Intelligence, unless the attack is in the form of a virtual virus, in which case refer back to Com. Sec-41J.

   (2.) Any individuals caught violating quarantine orders without the express clearance of a qualified medical professional*, shall receive fines, lost privileges, grounding, and possible death (in that order).

       (a.) The first offense qualifies for fining of $1000 and increasing fines at the discretion of the team.

          (1a.) Fines are payable to the Maria Stark Foundation or any listed and approved charity (see listing under Guilt Trips Sec-27). If not to the affected medical professionals, teammates, and possible therapy bills from Tony.

          (1b.) Paying it forward with food (pizza included) and gifts will be seen as abusing the rules and will result in heavier punishments.

       (b.) The second offense brings lost privileges which are decided upon by the discretion of the remaining team members.

       (c.) The third offense means being grounded from missions, events, and public appearances sponsored by Stark Ind. or SHIELD for three (3) consecutive months. Culminating up to a full year of grounding, at which point the individual(s) will be up for review and their position shall be decided upon by a board of members, with possible termination from the team being a final option.

       (d.) If you send him back to therapy, only the ghost of Howard Stark will be able to stop Tony from actual and very serious attempts at murdering any individual(s) choosing to violate quarantine and thereby bringing risk to the team, community, and/or world at large.

    (3.) The level and duration of quarantine will be determined and decided upon by qualified experts* sourced from the pool of vetted individuals with relevant resources and information and skills.
