The Injury Of Finally Knowing You - A Wolfwren Fanfiction

The Injury of Finally Knowing You - A Wolfwren fanfiction

A/N: Hello everyone! My brain has been filled with nothing but Wolfwren for weeks and because I couldn't wait I decided to write my own season 2 of Ahsoka! Here is an extract from the first chapter and the link to the full chapter will be at the end! Enjoy!

Sabine expected to feel more of a pounding in her head when she woke up. After all, someone had snuck up behind her and knocked her out. Maybe she’d grown used to being hit in the head. Huyang certainly seemed to take pleasure in doing so during her training sessions. Perhaps she ought to thank him for it now that she woke up with barely a dull pulse at the back of her head. She quickly assessed her surroundings.

Daylight passed through the walls of the tent; the leather too thin to block it out. She was tied to the central pole of the tent, so that if she pulled too hard on the bindings, she might collapse the whole structure. She was unarmed. Her lightsaber and blasters had been taken. However, she remained in armor, which was always an advantage. No one had been stationed in the tent to keep an eye on her. She might as well make the most of it, she thought as she pulled on her bindings. The wooden poll tremble with every harsh tug.

The Ravagers had rushed the Noti camp on the back of their howlers. In the middle of the night, Sabine had only had a moment to understand what was happening. She’d jumped out of the T-6 and rushed after her master. All the campfires had been extinguished, either by time or by their attackers. She spotted Ahsoka’s white light on the right side and figured she would cover their left flank. Somehow in the chaos of metal blades glimmering in the night and blaster shots, she had been knocked out and captured.

She doubted Ahsoka had also suffered the same fate. Hopefully her master would track her down. She wasn’t confident in her ability to navigate the wilderness yet. She tugged on the leather straps and the whole tent rattled. A few more hard pulls and she would be free, she figured.

The flap of the tent was thrown open, allowing harsh midday light within and blinding Sabine for a second. Someone entered and she stilled her tugging. The footsteps were angry. They crushed the earth as if trying to show just how superior to it they were. When Sabine had blinked the light out of her eyes, she looked up only to find herself confronted by a familiar wrathful face.

Shin’s platinum blond hair had grown an inch since they’d been stranded on the planet, revealing more of those dark roots at the top of her head. Sabine almost offered her pair of scissors but thought better of the jab when she saw her eyes. They were full of fury and sorrow in equal part, darkness and misery and tiredness and agony. Sabine was stricken by such grief when she saw her that she couldn’t speak.

“You failed,” Shin said. “Thrawn escaped.”

The accusation was just what Sabine needed to get her thoughts back in order.

“I also sent Ezra home. I accomplished what I set out to do. What did you accomplish?”

Shin glared at her. It was intense, but Sabine could take it.

“Why are you still here?”

Sabine frowned.

“I don’t know. Maybe because we’re just as stuck as you are?”

Shin shook her head.

“I don’t believe that. You must be here for another reason.”

“And the reason is that we are stuck.”

Winter’s War and a Dream of Spring (The 100/Game of Thrones AU)

A/N: You’ve waited and here it is! I promised a year ago I would include Lexa into season 8, and after much anguish and work I did it! The first chapter is up for your enjoyment! Here’s an extract and you can find the link to the full chapter after!

Lexa remembered the first time she ever saw snow. They were almost at White Harbor, from which they would continue to Winterfell on horseback. She was seating on the deck of the ship, a book in her hands, trying to distract herself from the boring journey. Suddenly, something fell on her hand. She hadn't noticed it at first. The cold air had taken over the entire ship almost as soon as they had left Dragonstone, and Lexa had been wearing furs and gloves without fail every single hour of the day. She was so wrapped up in her furs that she could have been mistaken for a small chubby wolf easily.

Something fell on her hand again, and then on her book, and then on her head. She frowned and looked up. Tiny white snowflakes were falling over them, plummeting from the sky with feather-like grace. Lexa gasped and her eyes grew wide.

“Is it snowing?” she asked, to no one in particular.

Since no one answered her, she closed her book and pushed herself up. Snowflakes continued to fall on her. She put her hands together like a cup and tried to catch as many snowflakes as she could. Unfortunately, they were all falling slowly, and almost as soon as they touched her hand they melted. She barely had any time to look at them closely before they'd disappeared forever.

She walked back and forth on the ship's upper deck, her hands reached out to grab snow, for almost ten minutes. Sometimes she would try to reach overboard, thinking there would be more snow falling into the sea, but it was mostly in vain. The sailors watched her do with amusement, which Lexa didn't seem to notice.

“Lexa?”

Lexa stopped dead in her tracks and looked over at the corridor which led further down into the ship. Her mother was standing there, hidden from the snow, Jon by her side.

“What are you doing?”

“It's snowing, mother, look!”

Lexa ran up to her mother, her hands still cupped together. By the time she reached Daenerys, however, all the snow in her hands had melted again. Her mother, however, had no difficulty seeing the snow, as many white flakes had tangled themselves in Lexa's dark brown hair.

“It is,” Daenerys replied, agreeing with her daughter.

"Don't get too excited," Jon added, "There's snow everywhere at this time of year."

Still, Lexa ignored Jon's comment and started running again around the ship, trying to collect snowflakes, until the air had grown so cold and bitter that she could barely feel her face. Then, Anya took it upon herself to drag the six-year-old back to her room and sit her down under a pile of blankets, where she left her until it was time for supper.

Our Song - A RubyxChristina fanfiction

A/N: Hey guys! Here’s an extract from my new Ruby/Christina story, about Christina being the Queen of the Underworld and Ruby going to make a deal with her to get Leti’s soul back. If you’re interested the link to the full story is at the end!

The Underworld was forever silent. You got used to it rather quickly, mostly because you only visited it once you were dead, and nothing bothered you anymore then. All the souls transiting through the Underworld made as much noise as an ant. They floated through, from one part of the realm to another. They had no thoughts, no mouths or vocal cords, and therefore didn't speak. Hundreds of thousands of souls came and went all of the time, never making so much as a sound.

Christina had grown to appreciate the silence beyond anything else. Ruling over the Underworld was quiet, like ruling over Hell was violent. It was as all things were. Who was she to go against the rules? She spent most of her days reading, surveying her kingdom, with little to no sense of time. Time didn't exist for the dead, after all, they were already dead. And when the pull of boredom became too strong, Christina shut her book and took a walk around her kingdom. It was small and gray, but it was home, and wasn't that enough? A worse fate could have awaited her, she was certain of it.

Peace and quiet. Very suddenly disturbed, in Christina's opinion. It began with familiar growls coming from inside the castle. Christina was seated on a bench in the large garden reading when the sound pulled her out of her thoughts. She knew the sound quite well. It was the Shoggoth keeping watch at the entrance of the Underworld. How had it arrived at the castle, she wondered as she snapped her book close. It wasn't supposed to leave its post.

She made her way through the castle in search of the creature. It was not supposed to leave the edge of her realm. She couldn't even imagine the kind of damage one inside of her castle would cause.

She rounded the corner and found with great surprise the multi-eyed creature standing in her throne room. She arrived from behind the throne, but as she began walking down the steps to the creature, she found it wasn't alone. A woman was standing beside it. A real, human woman. She was wearing a red dress, and her hair had somewhat fallen out of place, as a few curls stuck to her neck. Her skin was dark, and a few beads of sweat were running down her temple. Christina knew the path down into the Underworld was hot, but she couldn't feel that heat. There was a guitar slung on the woman's back. When her eyes fell on Christina, her brows furrowed.

"Are you in charge here?" she asked with extreme annoyance.

Christina hadn't had to slip into the position of Queen in a long, long time. But it came to her naturally. The coldness, the detachment of it all. She sat in her throne, crossing her legs, and looked down at the woman.

"I am in charge, as you put it, yes. Who are you? How did you get past my guard dog?"

"He likes music, did you know that?"

Christina looked at the Shoggoth still standing by the woman's side. Its many eyes were transfixed on the woman's instrument. Christina waved her hand, and a whistle could be heard in the distance. The guard dog bounded down the staircase leading back out hurriedly and disappeared. She assumed it could dig its way home on its own.

"I have to command you bravery and ingenuity. No one alive has ever made it this far into my kingdom."

"You call this a kingdom? It's a piece of rock with a castle in the middle."

Christina pursed her lips. She didn't take too kindly to insults.

"Why are you here?"

"I'm here for my sister. She died yesterday."

"Time doesn't mean anything to me. She could have died a hundred years ago that it wouldn't change a thing. People die every day, it is how it is. Nothing I can do about it."

The woman crossed her arms. She seemed furious at Christina's detachment.

"But what if she wasn't supposed to die?"

Valkyrie’s Flerken Hunt (Carol/Valkyrie fanfic)

A/N: Here’s an extract of my new fanfic, a Carol/Valkyrie story with tons of cute baby flerkens thrown into the mix! The link to the full story will be at the end.

Valkyrie returned home in the early afternoon. The days in Norway were weird, as the sun dipped over the horizon far earlier than it should during most of the year. It drastically cut most days short, and if you add to that the possibility of snow, not everyone was able to work full days, and even she wasn't fully used to the strange cycles. Plus it was very cold, and for someone who'd spent the past few centuries on a temperate and warm planet like Sakaar, New Asgard could quickly turn into a nightmare.

The first thing she did as she returned home was light the fireplace once again. Radiators were not enough to warm her small house. Plus, she liked to have the fire going, purely for the aesthetic of it. Of course, it was easier when Carol was there, and a single photon blast could light up the fire. But since Carol wasn't there, she had to use matches. She pulled Goose's basket out of the way. Goose was still curled up in it. She looked up to glare at Valkyrie when the Asgardian moved her basket. Valkyrie then pushed the metal grid protecting the fireplace away and stacked up logs of all sizes in it before cracking a match. She set it back in place once the fire started, as she knew full well Carol would kill her if any of her precious little kittens played too close to the flames.

Behind her, Goose stood up and stretched. Then, she left her basket to go to the kitchen, probably expecting her owner's girlfriend to feed her. Valkyrie laughed at the flerken's behavior.

"Nope, no food for you until Carol gets home."

As she stood up, she realized the Goose's basket was completely empty. She frowned and looked around the living room. No sign of the kittens.

"Goose where are your babies?" she asked as if the flerken would give her an answer.

She glanced at Goose who didn't even seem to care. Goose wanted food, everything else was secondary. Valkyrie shook her head, realizing she'd started to take Carol's strange habit of talking to her cat like it would respond. She leaned back down and looked under the couch, and the armchair, and the shelf, and the wardrobe. Nothing. She went to the kitchen and looked in every drawer and cupboard until she realized how ridiculous the idea was. She looked under her bed and found a pair of forgotten socks, but no flerken.

The panic which had been growing in her chest seemed to implode when she noticed the chair against the wall in the living room and the open window above it. She must have left it ajar when she left this morning, and she knew for a fact the kittens had become big enough to jump on the chair, and probably jump out the window too.

She rushed outside without even stopping to grab her gloves, scarf and woolen hat. This window led to the pile of firewood, which could have not only cushioned their fall but allow them to walk to the ground and adventure outside easily. Valkyrie hurriedly looked behind the stack, then picked up a few logs to look under. She couldn't hear meowing, and couldn't see anything remotely resembling a cat or a flerken for that matter. She placed the wood back on its pile and looked around. The kitten could have literally gone anywhere. Her house was one of the last ones up the hill, with the main street leading straight to the harbor. They could have run down and go to town. Or they could have gone up the hill, where only her stables and a few other houses remained. And then, the cold plains of Norway.

She shivered as a chilled gust of wind passed over the city. She finally realized that she had gone out completely unprepared. Also, she'd just lost five flerken kittens, and Carol would kill her as soon as she returned.

Kiss the Hills for me, just once (then - I am ready to go) - A MaryShannon fic

A/N: Hey everyone! Here’s the beginning of my new short and bittersweet fic! It’s Mary and Shannon, it’s canon compliant, and it’s their last evening together... If you want to read the whole story the link is at the end!

Shannon was ten when she first entered a confessional booth, in preparation for her first communion. She had no great sin to confess but a great many questions about God and Jesus which her local priest, in his benevolent patience, was kind enough to answer as best as he could. When she asked him who he spoke to when he had to confess something, the voice on the other side of the screen had come as chuckle:

"Well, I speak to God quite often. I know that He will always be here to listen. But when I do need advice, I seek out one of my fellow priests."

Some fifteen years later, Shannon still thought about that conversation, as she finally came to empathise with the older man. Though she prayed often for guidance, she always seeked out Mary for advice. Which made it all the stranger when Shannon began to keep things to herself. Mother Superion could tell. The other sister warriors could tell. And most of all, Mary could tell.

She had tried all she could think of to breach the subject. Talking about it in public hadn't worked. Talking about it in private had made the Warrior Nun clam up even more. So Mary had given up, which was quite unlike her. Even Lilith had teased her about it. Mary had glared at her and explained that Shannon would talk once she was ready. She truly hoped it would be tonight.

For a few years now, they'd started a routine on every Thursday night. If they weren't out in the field, then the two of them disappeared on Mary's motorcycle for a few hours. All sorts of rumors had started swirling up from their little escapade. Some of the sisters thought they were wandering the streets, beating up bad guys like two vigilantes. Others thought they rented a motel room – or, more luxuriously a hotel room, or better yet they had their own small apartment – where they could have really hot and loud sex away from the convent. Mary couldn't blame the sisters for all these stupid rumors. She and Shannon were so tight-lipped about what they did that she understood their curiosity. But this was their special thing, a Mary and Shannon alone thing, and neither would ever reveal what they were up to.

That evening, as Mary leaned against her motorcycle, holding her helmet in her hands, she almost thought Shannon wasn't going to come. It wasn't like they had a set time when they should leave, but they never met more than a couple of minutes apart, as if they could sense the other's eagerness to leave. She checked her phone again for the time. Footsteps echoed on the pavement. She looked up and spotted Shannon coming toward her at a hurried pace.

"I was beginning to think you'd stood me up," Mary shouted at her, partly as a joke and partly to her release her own nervousness.

"I'm sorry. I was with Father Vincent and Mother Superion, putting the final touches on tomorrow's mission."

Mary was quick to brush the subject of the next day's mission aside. This was their special night, which meant no work-related talk.

"I'll forgive you only if we leave in the next minute and a half."

You know that when Ava and Beatrice get married they're asking Mother Superion to officiate. Like I know priests are the only ones who can officiate weddings in the Catholic faith, but by then they will have probably kill God/Reya so rules are not that important

Worth It (Carol/Maria fanfiction)

A/N: Hey guys! Here’s an extract from my new story Worth It, a Carol/Maria story taking place before the Captain Marvel movie with a focus on Carol trying to be the best mom she can be :) Link to the full story at the end of the post!

The familiar sound of a car engine stopping in front of the house pulled Carol out of the show she was watching. She stood up and stretched. Her old Star Wars shirt was pulled up in the motion, and she tugged it back in place before making her way to the door. She was expecting to find a happy four-year-old on the other side, with her usual bright smile. The thought alone made Carol smile in turn, and so she opened the door eagerly.

"Hey! How was shopping? Did you..."

Her voice died down when Monica walked in with a pout. Maria was still rummaging through her car's trunk, trying to pick up the grocery bags all at once.

"We didn't find it," Monica grumbled.

Carol's smile faded, and while Monica walked past her and toward her bedroom to sulk, the blonde walked out to help Maria with the groceries.

"It didn't go as planned, I take it."

Maria sighed.

"They didn't have it and Monica didn't want anything else."

"She's just being stubborn," Carol offered as she picked up as many bags as her arms could carry. "I'm sure she'll come around."

"Yeah, I wonder who she takes after..." Maria said as she closed the trunk with her now free hand.

Carol rolled her eyes.

"You, obviously."

"Funny, that's not what I was going to say."

The couple brought the paper bags to the kitchen, dropping everything on every available surface. Carol started emptying hers and putting everything in the fridge while Maria went to take off her jacket and shoes. Carol had crumbled the empty bag into a ball when Maria joined her in the kitchen.

"Did you call your mother?" she asked almost immediately.

Carol froze for a second before pretending that she hadn't heard anything, hoping Maria would let it slide. Maria, of course, instantly noticed that Carol was avoiding her question.

"Carol?"

"Hm?"

"Did you call your mother to ask if she still had your old costume?"

Carol shrugged.

"Oh, she probably has it somewhere in the attic. My mom never threw away anything that belonged to me or my brother."

Maria closed the cupboard and turned around, her piercing dark eyes falling instantly on Carol.

"So what you're telling me is you didn't call her."

The Hundred Steps of Hell - a foxxay fanfiction

A/N: Hey guys! Here’s an extract from my new foxxay one-shot, the story of Cordelia making her way down to hell to get Misty out, but with a catch. Link to the full story will be at the end if you’re interested.

“I was wondering when you would come to me again. She's been waiting for you.”

Cordelia tried to ignore the pang of guilt in her chest. She stepped forward, facing Papa Legba without fear.

“You know why I'm here then?”

“Of course. You want the Swamp Witch.”

Cordelia nodded.

“Name your price.”

Papa Legba chuckled lowly.

“Why do you want her so bad? I've seen you, trying to get her back for years. Why is she so special to you?”

“It's my fault she's been trapped down there,” Cordelia admitted in a wavering voice. “I have to fix this.”

Papa Legba stood up from his chair, straightening to his full, imposing height.

“I have been thinking about this exchange for a long time,” he said with a smile. “Pondering over what price to pay. I thought about asking for something of yours. Your eyes, maybe, or another sense. Maybe one of your girls. A life for a life.”

Cordelia braced herself, waiting for Papa to finish his explanation.

“Then, finally, I had the perfect idea.”

His cane hit the ground loudly, and a single wooden door groaned open beside him. Cordelia felt every nerve in her body fire up nervously as the door slowly swung open. She waited for something to come out of the door, some sort of strange, demonic creature. When nothing happened, she frowned.

“I will let you walk down to Hell, and get her for yourself.”

“What? Just like that?”

“Just like that. But there is a catch.”

She sighed. She should have known there would be a catch.

"There are many stairways leading to Hell like there are many stairways leading everywhere. This one is special. This one has not been used for many many years. This is the catch. There are a hundred steps separating you and your Misty. For each step you'll take, you will have to relinquish a memory of her you possess."

Cordelia's mouth hung slightly open as she pondered the dilemma she was presented with.

“I'm not even sure I have a hundred memories of Misty.”

She'd barely known her for a few months, how could she have so many memories of the blonde? As she thought about it, there was only one memory she could remember, that of Misty, unconscious on the carpet in the living room, of feeling the woman's body crumbling to dust, of being unable to wake her up and hear her voice again.

“Won't I forget her completely?”

"If you can make it to the bottom, you will. But then I will make sure you don't forget to leave with her. After all, a deal is a deal."

An Evening Race - a Wolfwren fanfiction

A/N: Hello everyone! I just posted a new Wolfwren fic about Shin and Sabine having a little "friendly" speeder bike race. Here is a little excerpt and if you want to read the rest of the story the link will be at the end!

Shin knocked back her drink and searched the bar for the clock over the shelves of bottles. It wasn’t too late yet; they might just get another drink before going home. Before she could wave at the bartender, Ezra asked:

“How about you guys? What’s going on?”

“Tracking down more former Empire scum, as usual,” Sabine said with a sigh. “We were on Eadu hunting a bunch of Empire scavengers. The base was pretty big. A Speeder bike chase might have happened. Shin crashed hers against a shuttle.”

Shin straightened at the mention of her name, then frowned.

“On purpose,” she added. “To stop them from taking off.”

Sabine finished her glass with a smile.

“Of course, you did.”

That wasn’t the answer Shin had expected.

“You think I don’t know how to drive a Speeder bike?”

“That’s not what I said.”

“I bet I’m even a better driver than you.”
