The Mermaid of Lily Lake by Andy Ivanov
One of the worst parts of being a fangirl is when you put your phone down because your otp is being overwelming (like always) but you can’t find it for like 10 minutes.
Ok but like, is there anyone else who likes the Ranger’s Apprentice and Septimus Heap series? Or The Legend of Eli Monpress??? Am I the only fan I know?
If a female character is ambitious, she’s a crazy bitch.
If she’s multi-talented, she’s unrealistic.
If she’s emotional, she’s a softy.
If she’s not, she’s a monster.
If she’s strong, she’s a stereotype.
If she’s even a bit problematic, she’s evil.
If she’s beautiful/hot, she’s fanservice.
And male characters can be all of these things and the fanbase would still defend them to death because “OMG they are perfect how dare you attempt to call out my favorite character for their actions”.
I recognize that canon has made a decision, but given that it’s a stupid-ass decision, I’ve elected to ignore it and indulge myself in fanfic
Yay to those who write book-length stories that keep me company when I can’t sleep or the ones who keeps me awake until dawn.
Yay to those who write short stories that I can read quickly for my dose of daily happiness.
Yay to those who give me angst/fluff when I need it.
Yay to those who put tears in my eyes, joy or sadness, I love them all.
Yay to those who taught me how to keep a straight face when reading smut but can’t make me not blush when reading fluff.
Yay to those who put feelings into words.
Yay to those who fixed it. To those who broke it.
Yay to those who give us more time with our favorite characters.
Yay to those who support the common ship.
Yay to those who navigate on a raft.
Yay to those who put hours Into research to make it more real.
Yay to those who didn’t because it’s fiction and it should feel like it.
Yay to those who do justice to characters.
Yay to those who give good and diverse representations.
Yay to those who are the foundation of fandoms.
Yay to those who write by passion, for free, to us.
Yay to fic writers.
people who leave detailed reviews on fanfiction are a gift to the world
all fanfic writers, ever, awake at ungodly hours doubting everything they’ve ever written or thought of writing until they see that one (or more, hopefully!) magical, long-ass comment that makes every bit of struggle totally and completely worth it (via rudderless-in-an-ocean-of-stars)
when ur in the mood for roleplaying but don’t have a roleplay partner:
r.a. salvatore wrote in one of the legend of drizzt books “he died of natural causes, for a dagger in the heart quite naturally ends one’s life” and i’ve never gotten over that
ready for battle
I don’t know much about Voltron, but after seeing Lotor everywhere on my dash I absolutely need an animated series for Drizzt Do’Urden. Just putting this out there in case the universe is listening.
I identify as female with she/her pronouns. I love anything One Piece. Especially Trafalgar Law.
