Just some Amaro doodles
(Not a fan of the musical))
My birthday is tomorrow and honestly my favorite gift so far was Beetlejuice playing with his balls.
Will need to make a proper character introduction for Amaro as well for the rest of my Ocs.
After rereading this, This comes off more of an Essay than a rant.
As with any fandom community, being a part of the Beetlejuice fandom can be a wonderful experience. For many fans, like myself, it's a way to connect with others who share their love for the quirky characters, unique humor, and funny catchy songs of the cult classic movie. The Beetlejuice fandom is no exception, with fans of the iconic 1988 film and the more recent Broadway musical(That’s gone now)) coming together to celebrate their love for the quirky and supernatural world of Beetlejuice. However, as with any community, there are also flaws to be found.
The flaws and issues that arise, particularly when it comes to the behavior of younger generations who are new to the fandom. In the case of Beetlejuice, some fans who were introduced to the world through the recent musical adaptation may have a different perspective and approach to the fandom than those who have been fans of the original film for many years.
One issue that has been noted by some long-time fans is the fetishization of the character of Beetlejuice by younger fans. This can involve sexualizing the character and viewing him as a Trans Man for example. Some people would actually claim that’s he can’t be a desirable figure if he’s not one, rather than as the chaotic and mischievous spirit he is meant to be portrayed as. This fetishization can be concerning and uncomfortable for some fans, particularly those who have a deeper appreciation for the character and the world of Beetlejuice beyond just surface-level attraction.
Another issue that can arise in any fandom community is gatekeeping, or the idea that certain fans may try to exclude or invalidate others based on their level of knowledge or experience within the fandom. This can lead to a toxic environment where new fans feel unwelcome or discouraged from participating, which is not conducive to building a positive and inclusive community.
Despite these challenges, there are still many reasons to love being a part of the Beetlejuice fandom. The shared enthusiasm for the unique and imaginative world created by Tim Burton, as well as the opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals from all over the world, make the community a vibrant and exciting place to be.
Ultimately, it is important to remember that any fandom community is made up of individuals with their own perspectives and experiences. While it is important to acknowledge and address problematic behavior, it is also important to focus on building a welcoming and inclusive community where all fans can feel valued and appreciated. By working together and respecting each other's opinions and perspectives, the Beetlejuice fandom can continue to thrive for years to come.
But, of course, that’s easier said than done.
MY BEST FRIEND FINALLY MADE A BLOG!!!✨✨🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗✨✨✨✨
I don’t even look back on my old drawings but these are still nice to look at!!
Please give @pinkstrawberrykitties a follow if you’re interested!!! She’s new and is sensitive to flower petals they cut through her like blades.🤗🥳
Art that my pookie bear meow meow @wheezechu made for me awhile back of our ocs (the second picture!) The males name is Howard Mary and the gals name is Féng Xiúyīng. Howard is Féng's male wife because she's a war criminal from the Boxer Rebellion (that happened 7 years before the main story.) I have a fanfic that I'm planning to make haha but I'm nervous to post it and it's still in a work. (Historical research and story research can suck my booty U_U)
A lot has changed with Féng since this art but still 💖 it's always nice to look back at old art! This is my first post!! I hope you guys like it. :)
I despise the infantilization of Beetlejuice’s character.
Like, no, he’s not a little baby or an innocent boi. He’s a gross predatory pervert who, in all versions of Beetlejuice, tries to marry a minor. And I love him like that.
Stop butchering characters personalities in order to feel okay about liking them. It’s alright to like a character who’s a bad person, and it doesn’t make you a bad person yourself. I promise.
Just another artist who’s trying to get her art out there. Mainly Oc stuff but If you'd like to get to know me just hit me up in the DMs. BeetleBabes (That’s me))and NonBeetleBabes are always welcomed!
