Okay, I had to remind myself this today but! Rest is an activity. It's a gentle activity, yes, but it is an activity. You're not "doing nothing" you are recovering from whatever taxing thing and preparing for future taxing things. Lying there cranky about having to rest will ruin the quality of your rest. As will beating yourself up or being annoyed at yourself for "doing nothing." You're not doing nothing. You're investing time into giving your body the best shot it has at getting through tomorrow unscathed. Rest is something you Actively Choose To Do in order to Feel Better or at least Not Worse.
