"she was flirting with you is the difference. i may trust you entirely, but that doesn't mean people are allowed to flirt with you like we're not married." sometimes she lets them live, just has them maimed a little rather than killed, but this one had most certainly deserved it from the way she had touched her husband's bicep. she exhales softly, his arms around her causing the stress of her day to simply melt away. isabelle plays with his hair idly, humming as she smiles. "would you rather they learn the truth and the pair of us ended up behind bars for 25 to life? not to mention if you didn't enjoy the trouble i bring, you never would have married me." her nose brushes against his own, hands sliding down from around his neck to find his belt buckle as she begins undoing it. "however will i thank you for that, darling?"
they're a dangerous pair. someone in the world of crime and someone in the world of law enforcement. all of his training in the academy should've told him to run far from isabelle. yet here he is, married to her and never thinking that they can be apart. "more subtle? if she even smiled my way when i wasn't looking you would've thought that she was flirting with me." although he has to give his wife the benefit of the doubt. the intern had been wanting to fuck him, he just never gave her the time of day. he wraps his arms around her waist, holding her close as he returns the kiss. "i know, that's part of the trouble. anyone that gets too close to the truth, i can expect will end up dead." not that he's complaining. he pulls back from the kiss, rolling his eyes. "yeah? well they're not going to give you any trouble anymore. they're behind bars for twenty-five years."
it's ridiculous how happy it makes her just simply to hear him agree to buying her food, already perked up and far happier to be in his presence. "oh, food and vulnerability go hand in hand. no one can tell me otherwise." she shrugs, following him towards the door as she shoves her hands into her pockets to brace the cold. chuckling, she turns her head to look up at him, all too amused. "you trying to get me to beg you already? buy me dinner first." she flirts shamelessly, tone entirely teasing.
malik exhales, the tension in his shoulders easing just a little at the shift in her tone—less edge, more familiar ground. teasing, yeah, but not biting. that he can handle. "yeah, alright," he says, the corner of his mouth twitching upward like he's trying not to grin but failing anyway. "guess that's a fair trade for emotional vulnerability." he turns, already heading toward the door with a casual toss of, “but i'm not sharing my fries. don't get any ideas.” a pause, then over his shoulder—half grin, half dare—"unless you say 'please.'”
she goes willingly into his arms when he wraps her in the towel, hands resting gently against his chest. it's funny how violent the both of them are in their day to day lives, their hands covered in more blood than anyone would know, yet she always feels safe in his hold. "it's not that there are better options than you, baby. i just...i'd hate to look back on my twenties only to realize i wasted them not having fun and living life to the fullest. a real relationship just doesn't fit into that for me." but why did it feel like she was losing something even more special in exchange for that? his arms drop but hers don't, one of her hands sliding up to his cheek and brushing her thumb over it. "okay. you're gonna share a bed with me though, yeah? i'm not sleeping on your couch."
Now that she's cleaned up Benedict allows himself to admire her for all her beauty. Of course he wants her but what they want are two completely different things. As she reached for the towel he beats her to it and opens one to wrap her up in before pulling her close against him. "I do want you I just want you completely. Not just for hooking up or when you don't have better options, which are arguable in my opinion." He sneered knowing there weren't many men out there better than him. "You could have me every night if you would just not be such a brat. I mean I like you being a brat just not about being with me." He shrugs before letting her out of his arms. "Stay here tonight yeah? Just so I know you're okay. I'll grab some clothes for you to wear. They'll be mine though since you didn't leave any here when you left."
for a moment she merely stares at him, shocked by his reaction after he'd quiet literally come to her rescue. "you can not be serious right now." she scoffs, shaking her head. she doesn't know what she expected when it came to her husband, the two of them always seeming to butt heads. "i came out here to get some air because i have a headache and the oaf followed me out and wouldn't take the hint that i didn't want his company. what do you take me for, a common whore? did that look like i wanted his attention on me?"
"and you," he said walking past her, "you've been gone off with him for how long now, that i had to find you-" he could only assume she was flirting again. it wasn't the first time she'd done it to under his skin, "at least you had the sense to turn him away when you did." gwaine leaned against the wall as he looked her over. "and what am i supposed to do when everyone thinks i'm a fool for having to go after you- he's going to go in there say that you were fancying him and that i'm a fool."
"wow, that was so heartfelt. i really felt it down in my soul." sarcasm drenches from her tone, a hand pressed to her chest.

"I'm not um, real good at thank yous. or sorry's. but if you ever need me, I'm there. I owe you one."
selaena tended to stay out of the political matters her brother involved himself in. she did not like war or conflict, she didn't like her brother's greed when it came to land, and she certainly didn't enjoy the great loss of life that came with that. she was a princess for the people, content to do her work with the least fortunate in their society. taking in her brother's enemy? certainly the most involved she's been with the crown in a long time. her eyes flash when she notices him trying to sit up, stepping forward and one of her hands gently pressing against his shoulder. "please, don't strain yourself on my account. you're not in any condition for that." her hand is warm when she removes it from his shoulder, gaze catching on his torso and swallowing thickly before she tugs the sheet back up for him. "you've been sleeping for four days time. you murmured a bit here and there, but i was sure you weren't aware of much when you did." she smiles softly at the sound of his stomach growling, turning to one of her servants to send for food before facing him again. "selaena. princess selaena. it's a pleasure to hear your voice, king valor." she holds her breath, waiting to see if he realizes who she was.
a form of a woman, beautiful and smooth-edged with dark hair && a curious look in her eye, materialized in the fuzzy center of valor’s vision. for a moment - a fleeting second, just a flash of it, he inhaled sharply. the king thought he recognized her. eyes lit up, but as he gazed with lips slightly agape, he realized that through the fog of his pounding temples, he couldn’t quite place her. couldn’t bring any true realization up, no memories to associate to her striking beauty, nor recollection of the sound of her voice. just a vague, nearly empty sense of having seen her before… like she’d leapt from a dream. perhaps that was all. he was imagining things in his weakened state. “ and just how long is a long time? “ he finally croaked out, unable to sit up fully, feeling how his whole body betrayed him as he tried to come to a stand as any gentleman would when a lady entered the room. she spoke with the refinement of at least upper nobility. and yet - despite whatever valiant effort he made to show his respects to his savior, valor was unable to do much more than twitch in the sheets, allowing them to drop lower down his bare body. heat burned embarrassment through his core, and he was once again betrayed as his stomach let out a furious growl in response. “ …i suppose i am. thank you, my lady... ah...? “
he's always been a selfish man. whenever he has something or someone who caught his eye, he would pursue it without ever pausing to consider whether or not she deserves it. when it came to holly though, he knew that he deserved her. that he'd changed because he met her, became a far better man to her than he ever planned on being. developed feelings for her that he wasn't sure he was capable of before he'd met her. a grin pulls his mouth wide when she finally agrees, nodding his head and raising a hand to brush her hair from her face, gripping her jaw gently a moment later. "yeah alright, doll, you take the reigns on this one. i don't care when we go as long as we go." he leans down, mouth covering her own in a hungry kiss, holding her jaw in place while his other hand presses against her lower back. "you must love me a whole bunch to want to run away with me, huh?"
This opportunity was something that Holly knew was rare and completely selfish. Yet at this point in her life she felt as if she had made decisions based on keeping everyone else happy. While no one did the same for her in return. Considering how dangerous it would be to run away with him she knew it would have to be done in secret. The only people she would feel guilt over leaving behind were her sisters and her parents, she had faith they would be fine though. Now she needed to do something for herself. With a deep breath she moved closer to Dante gently nodding her head. "Okay let's do this then. But I'm not just randomly leaving with you now. This weekend, my husband will be out of town. I'll send my kids somewhere gives me time to get my shit in order. If you really want me, you'll wait a few more days if it means having me all to yourself forever. Yeah?"
me while plotting: let’s do a slow burn thing with them!! just imagine the angst and the journey they go through before becoming a couple!! i’m so excited!!
