Last Saturday a dear friend of mine organized a fantastic tour of East London Street Art. The Sun was shinning and temperatures high, we started our day by meeting up at Shoreditch House for some brunch, good friends and family from London and two friends from Spain who are not all familiar with East London our group in its self is a melting pot of nationalities as none of us are born in London.

Once fed and energized we strolled to Liverpool station to meet our Street Art knowledge bank and off we went to discover the vast art that is spread out over parts of East London. Concentrating around the Brick Lane area, which is filled with history, like the legend of Jack the Ripper and many layers of cultures, religions and famous artists.  I knew the area well enough having lived in London for more than 20 years but did not know much about street art and how big it has become in the East and around London.

It was a enriching day, sun, art, history and great friends. I recommend this to everyone, yet another thing that makes London so special is that its always filled with surprises.

I love you London xo

For Our World a Poem Written by 11 year old Mattie Stepanek on 9.11

We need to stop. Just stop. Stop for a moment. Before anybody Says or does anything That may hurt anyone else. We need to be silent. Just silent. Silent for a moment. Before we forever lose The blessing of songs That grow in our hearts. We need to notice. Just notice. Notice for a moment. Before the future slips away Into ashes and dust of humility. Stop, be silent, and notice. In so many ways, we are the same. Our differences are unique treasures. We have, we are, a mosaic of gifts To nurture, to offer, to accept. We need to be. Just be. Be for a moment. Kind and gentle, innocent and trusting, Like children and lambs, Never judging or vengeful Like the judging and vengeful. And now, let us pray, Differently, yet together, Before there is no earth, no life, No chance for peace.

I am no cyclist, barely know how to ride a bike but I appreciate beautiful design. If I had to ride a bike it would be one of these, my favourite is the Black and Copper Plated Madison Street, so elegant . Wish there was a little more info on the people behind this well crafted line of bicycles.

See Detroit is not all about cars and music. xo

On the Peloponnese Coast of Greece on the outskirts of Porto Heli, the new Aman will be opening this Summer. Amanzoe meaning peaceful life , the Sanskrit word Aman meaning Peace and the Greek word for life Zoe (pronounced zoi).

The Amanzoe has 38 Suites, The Pool Pavillion comes with Six Meter Pools and Deluxe Pavillion with 12 Meter Pools, high ceiling big living and sleeping areas all with large terraces with lounge , sunbathing and dining areas.

Surrounded by Olive Groves and views over Spetses and the Argosaronic Gulf, this Ed Tuttle designed Aman also has bigger villas for sale, Beach Club, Spa, Dinning, Lounge and a main swimming pool. The other activities will include visits to Ancient Sites surrounding the area, boat excursions to nearby Islands on the Hotels' Wally Powerboat (see archive on a post them) or a traditional Kaiki, trekking, riding, olive picking and make your own olive oil.

Only a 2 1/2 hour drive from Athens or 2 Hour boat ride, or even if you prefer 25 minutes by helicopter, Amanzoe is perfectly situated, am sure it will be a huge success.

Am open to invitations! Hint hint.

“Lucid Stead is about tapping into the quiet and the pace of change of the desert. When you slow down and align yourself with the desert, the project begins to unfold before you. It reveals that it is about light and shadow, reflected light, projected light, and change.”

Take  a Desert, a Shack, some mirror, Led lights and the vision of a young man named Phillip K Smith III , put them together and voila you have this wonderful imaginative but yet so simple installation. it just fits perfectly with its location that you think that it should have always been there.

Over the course of the day the Lucid Stead metamorphoses into different visions, the sharp and shiny mirror bands reflect back the shapeshifting landscape, one minute the mirror image is picture perfect and then slowly with the moving sun it starts to soften its mirror image and starts to glow within as the very clever use of LED lights come alive in its changing colours.

Very well executed Mr. Smith, I so wanted to see this , as millions of others this has been posted all over the world!! I had to share too, its just too damn beautiful! I want one !

I wonder what the animals in the desert thought of this!

For more info on the Phillip K Smith III see below, and for Miami Basel his work will be featured in Untitled Fair from today. Also the great photography are by Steven King and Lance Gerber all courtesy of Royal Projects in Palm Desert California.

New Designer Alert!

Haitian -Italian Stella Jean has truly marinaded both of her unique cultures to create a very individual collection. The Italian blood shows in masculine pinstripe and jean shirts and the Creole side comes in the choice of fabrics and patterns. Then these are taken to another level with the impeccable tailoring and the fun and elegant accessories which include the hair scarf's (would love to wear them like that) topped off with hats and  some fun jewellery that was also created by Stella Jean. The formula works wonders, so could wear this in the summer but this is last years collection. But I loved it so much that I had to share who cares what season it is or what year it is.

In the meantime enjoy the Caribbean via Italia! xo

Moda Operandi had a trunk  show of her pieces , I think Matches  London will be stocking her this year too. Browse her site for stockists and video of the show.

I had to put these beautiful pictures up from Zac Posen pre Spring Resort 2013 (what a mouthful) . Elegant clothes, incredible jewellery and the perfect model for this, the statuesque Erin O'Connor. Apparently the collection was inspired by the women in Singapore, who would have known? Wish I knew who the jewellery is by and who styled and photographed this to give them credit also.

C'est Dramatique!
