019 - Snow
Myth had a split opinion on snow. Yes, it was pretty and shiny and watching it fall had something serene to it. Something calming.
But that was only the case when you had the possibility of warming up somewhere, of changing into dry clothes and having a safe place to sleep.
Before the queen had taken him, Myth had dreaded the arrival of the snow. It was a sign of the cold weather to come, of snow sticking to fabric and melting, turning warming clothes cold and wet, needing ore layers to stay warm and some of the hiding places tuning uninhabitable.
Years later, clothed in thick coats or behind windows with a fireplace warming the room, Myth watched the snow with indifference. It was there, it would go away. The only danger it brought him now was hiding slippery ice patches, blocking paths or someone daring to throw snowballs at him.
Waltz: What's your problem?
Mythros: You. You are my problem.
40? hehe thanks
040 - Blackand Blue
Myth couldn’tunderstand the knights’ enthusiasm to whack things with swords. It was just aformalization of punching each other black and blue during a brawl. Not that heapproved of these tendencies either. He understood goading someone into a fightto get an advantage -had done it himself once during the hunts to lure a hunterinto a trap and securing his own survival.
But whyexactly did the average men think that getting into a brawl and punching eachother’s teeth out was something to brag about. He preferred moving in theshadows, out of harms’ way, where no brute could just barge in to throw fists aroundto make his opinion known. Or on a misguided search for glory, thinking that itwas going to impress some girl.
He reallyhadn’t the time to deal with people like that. That was Alcaster’s domain. Hewas busy enough with magical training in between his duties as advisor andhandling politics. If he added physical training on the whole pile of work, hecould just scratch sleep completely of his schedule.
And he wasbetter off not in pain from getting beaten black and blue anyway.
What about 005?
You shall receive!
005 - Seeking Solace
Memoriesand dreams were the only solace Myth still had. His queen was encased incrystal. He was hiding who he was, unable to trust anyone and not able to moveanywhere, where hiding would be unnecessary.
He didn’twant to hide, to play loyal pawn to the king, who was undoing his queen’s work!He wanted-!
If he wascompletely truthful, he wanted his life back from before the Hunts. Being ableto hug his mother for reassurance and his father there to chase imaginarymonsters away. Seeking solace in the warmth and protection only his parents couldoffer him until they had gone up in flames together with everything else.
And whilethe queen had taken him in, she wasn’t someone to coddle her apprentices. Shewas no one to offer reassurance. Not to him, who wasn’t her child. She was noone to went to, to seek solace. She was a beacon, shining bright, but too coldto offer comfort or warmth. The only safety it offered was the light illuminatingyour surroundings.
But Mythmissed the warmth, missed the safety and having a place to belong. As it was,he needed to seek solace in his memories and dreams.
34?
034 - Mechanical
Over theyears the action of renewing the glamour on himself had become an automated actionof his body he didn't even need to pay attention to. He could do it halfasleep. Had done so multiple times already. It had become a mechanical actionto him, when it had started out as a must to stay hidden.
Now it wassimply a mechanical action of him, build into a routine. Just like sitting downon the desk in his office and stamping and/or signing papers.
Time wasgnawing at him, at his mind, lulling him into a sense of secureness. But asmechanical as it was to him, as ingrained as the action was, it didn't meanthat it would work forever. He was a witch and the princess was going toinherit the Tenebrarum. And then it would only be a matter of time until shenoticed the witch in the palace.
The routinewas safe, but only for the moment. Working like a machine was only useful whenthe setting stayed the same.
He simplyneeded to make sure that the situation was in his favor when the machine becameuseless.
021 - Anomaly
The most difficult things to plan for, Myth knew, were anomalies. Especially persistent ones. There were anomalies in strength -Waltz and he- and in sheer stubbornness -Delora- who was despite everything more of a problem than Waltz in some way, due to her closeness to the Lucis bearer.
Myth himself was also an anomaly the opposition wouldn't be expecting. For one, he was supposed to be dead. For another, he had -for now- Alcaster as his ally.
Fritz was an anomaly as well, his willingness to spend time with the princess going past the normal sense of duty.
So many anomalies he needed to keep track of and adapt his plans to...
It would be worth it, in the end.
Oh! Can we have one for 047, please?
And one small thing done. ^___^
047 - Homonculi
There were tales, even for magic users, just not Fairytales. Just tales of dreams, of powersunreachable, of magic unattached to a Crystallum. Sometimes, in a lull of workMyth looked for them. Most of them were so over the top that it was ridiculous, others were simply tales of worlds that never were and never would be, of deedsdone that were impossible to ever happen.
Butsometimes it was a good inspiration. One of the topics being especially interestingwas Alchemy.
Creating gold, creating immortality, creating homunculi - artificial life. While every single oneof these points was ridiculous, it was still the perfect inspiration, for whatto do about dear Fritzgerald’s (foreseeable) refusal to help them.
Varg, wasn’ta homunculus. He wasn’t created from nothing; his base was what the knightrepressed, based on the knight himself, filled into the same body. And whilegetting rid of Fritz wouldn’t be fast, it would be steady, a slow replacementby something that normally wouldn’t come exist, tailored to their needs.
051 - Games
For some reason people were always set to compare people in their plans to chess pawns. Myth knew that kind of thinking -had followed it at some point- but had in the end abandoned it. Real life situations were way more complicated than games.
More important as well and way harder to control. You couldn’t just restart, put pawns back on the board or undo a turn. The rules changed as the persons involved changed. Left the pattern, joined it, changed their views or what they wanted.
Chess didn’t fit it. Chess had only two players controlling a set of figurines without a free will, following an unchanging set of rules. Real life was… variable. Even know there were at least four sites to the situation. Whoever had the princess, the king and his loyal followers, Alcaster and his coup, himself and his allegiance to the late queen and maybe even the Lucis bearer and her allies. And there was also the unpredictability of people meeting at random and forming alliances.
No, these things really weren’t like common games. It didn’t even exist a clear win or lose. There was still the possibility of things turning south and him being able to slip away unfollowed, like after the rebellion. Not losing, but not winning either. The chance for another try.
He would see what the future would bring.
Myth x Lucette "050. Breaking the Rules" dabble?
050 - Breaking the Rules
There were many rules applying to a princess. Social ones, etiquette and sometimes simply expectations about how a princess currently had to behave. There were always witnesses for behavior. Family, servants, chaperons or maybe even guests.
Currently there was no one outside of Myth. And the level of freedom that added to their interaction was exhilerating like the first time she had channeld magic freely in an appropriate open space.
There were no roaming hands or deep kisses belonging into back alleys. Lucette was no fan of there things. But despite everything Myth was clingly and just like herself loved to be close enough to her for touch. Holding each other. Being closer than was approopriate. Kisses were a rare thing, both were not quite sure how to add to their current relationship.
But both needed the touch. The contact. No matter the rules, expectations or opinions. Touch made it real, where words were simply lacking.
And Lucette would willingly break many kinds of rules to keep that assurance that everything between them was real.
what about 060?
060 - Rejection
Rejection was a matter of attachment. If you weren’t attached to someone, the rejection didn’t matter. Which was also why Myth didn’t bother getting attached to anyone while hiding under a glamour.
The only on, whose rejection mattered, was his queen. But she would have no reason to reject him as her student, now that Waltz was a traitor. He would be the one, who ensured her return, the loyal apprentice. The one that stayed, even if leaving would have been easy with no one knowing he survived.
Rejection happened, if the other party found a reason to not want you around. He would make sure there would be no reason for his queen to sent him away.
