I am saving all of these for later

Hi, do you happen to know of any post endgame fics where it’s discovered that old Steve isn’t actually the real Steve? Or where Steve was lost in the time stream and is trying to make his way back?

Ooh, now this is a good question! I *know* I’ve read some, but I can’t think of them off the top of my head (unless @burberrycanary’s A Man Takes His Sadness Down to the River (The Consolation of Philosophy) series has that plot point? I’m not sure)

However: I’m working on a Time Travel category in The Library and this will probably pop up in there more than once.

In the meantime: can anyone recommend any fics with these points?

And for real, this fandom has so much talent in it that we already have about 30 gorgeous fanfic that are probably better than the actual third season might be.

As someone who's a fan of Good Omens (the show and the book), in the wake of the revelations about Neil Gaiman I want to say that the victims' wellbeing is more important than any closure from the completion of Series Three. If the showrunners find a way to remove Gaiman and complete it without any input from him, that would be a blessing. But if it never sees the light of day, I'll accept it.

We had one amazing first series that was based on the novel which Terry Pratchett's daughter has stated was 75% his work. The second series ... well, no matter how good you think it is (or isn't), it feels like an impostor now - a way to string out the story and keep fans on the hook with a cliffhanger ending before rewarding us with a final series based on some alleged ideas that the two authors once had for a sequel. For me, I think I can be OK without it.

I'm angry and disgusted with Gaiman but I realised that I don't feel sad. For his victims, yes. For other fans who lost faith in an author they loved, yes. But not for myself as a fan. Because as good a writer as he was, his own books were never, unlike Terry Pratchett's, up there with my favourites. And that's because, ironically, Gaiman fails at writing happy endings.

Not me showing up at my new job and immediately becoming besties with everyone who wound up being a fellow neuro-🌶️👀

sometimes I instinctively like people without knowing why, until I start talking to them and they reveal that all they watch on youtube are long deconstructions of public transit systems, and that by the way their shirt is an abstract design representing their favourite subway line, and then it's like ohhhh........autism ant pheromones at it again. like finds like.

I promise eventually I’ll stop reblogging real shit I definitely need to read, but today is not that day ❤️

Imagine having been born in 1905... And all your life it doesn't fucking stop. The Great War, the Spanish Flu, and then you go out of your mind for 7 years. Everyone is traumatised and nothing matters. Then another crash. And then the rise of fascism, and the War to end all Wars didn't and it's 1945 and you're just about still there. You may have fought or ferried the boys from Dunkirk or sabotaged the Nazi occupiers or worked in the factories and put out fires during the Blitz and you're lucky to be alive, because not all your friends made it. But you are and finally, fucking finally, it stops. It stops. You are tough as nails and you can put that strength to work into building something and you do, and people have cars and can buy icecream and you have a pension fund and the kids have money of their own and no nightmares.

I want that for us. I so want that for us. I want to be the generation that has seen fucking everything and is like a MRSA bug and unfazed and when that Cheeto finally dies, I want us to. Plant the gardens and clean the seas because we can and we want to and we remember some joy, some time of trust even when it got broken and we can say to the 20 somethings "let us show you what we can build, how it can feel."

And maybe Gen beta will take it all for granted like the boomers did, but we can give Gen Z and Alpha some peace because we, and Gen Z and Alpha have seen the Dark Times and fuck that noise.

Okay, I definitely need to read this and I’m definitely going to buy it to do so.

ive been reading a book that basically explains how so-called “brain differences” between the genders is the result of gendered socialization and not the cause of it. i honestly expected the book to be very cis-centric but its actually the opposite, the author stresses that testimony from trans ppl is actually indispensable because we’ve, in a sense, “lived both experiences”

more cis feminists should have this mindset

Even more critical to remember when the future looks especially bleak. It’s not here yet. Do what you can. ❤️

Don't borrow grief from the future. Don't borrow grief from the future. Don't borrow grief from the future. Don't borrow grief from the future. Don't borrow grief from the future. Don't borrow grief from the future. Don't borrow grief from the future. Don't borrow grief from the future. Don't borrow grief from the future. Don't borrow grief from the future. But its so hard when the world i— shut up! Don't borrow grief from the future. Don't borrow grief from the future. Don't borrow grief from the future. Don't borrow grief from the future. Don't borrow grief from the future. Don't borrow grief from the future.

Here's a flower: 🌻

I needed to read this, so now you will too.

Daily reminder that we do not actually live in a dystopian movie put the apocalypse down and back away slowly. You know when your cleaning a room and you pull everything out of it's draws to sort through it and you're like "what the fuck have I done I'm never going to be able to tidy all of this" I think that's the stage we're at in the world. Thanks to social media we've pulled out all the messed up shit from the cupboards of the world, it was always there but now we can see it and we're going to have to sort it all out we made this mess and we can fix it. Falling to the floor sobbing will not clean a crusty room. A group of people working systematically (preferably with music in the background) will.
