Valravn

Last catch-up #inktober for the night, then I’m off to bed. Day 26 is a Valraven, which is a danish raven who drinks the blood of fallen warriors. There were some interesting interpretations for these creatures and the most popular story about them sort of tells of a valraven transforming into a Knight after he is given an offering of a woman’s child in exchange of helping her find her husband lost at war. I finally finished this massive beast of animation. 

This one on its own have been just The Project to practice and learn how to animate. And honestly. For someone who animated for the first time in february this year - I am pretty hecking proud of myself.

When you hear the Old Church bell toll and a sad wail echo through the forest, do not approach. For the Weeping Raven is there, grieving for all she lost.

It is best not to disturb her, lest you want to join her in sorrow.

Halloween costumes

A legend of the European and the Northern lands, this creature would instill terror in the hearts of the children who would not slip into bed in time. Certain tales claim that it’s terrible form bears holes in the eyes and wings, which would spread ill fortune, disease, and even death to those unlucky enough to stare into them. Wisptober Day 25: Reunion 

“The two witches hurried to the old Crow King’s tree to meet up with their friend for their monthly reunion!" 

I didn’t get a lot of time for this one today, so I hope a simplier stylized one is ok! Maybe one of these days I will return to it and redo it in a different palette and style!
