Synopsis: Young, beautiful Piper Chapman is a businesswoman on her way up, having founded her own enterprise together with her good friend Polly, is dared by said good friend to visit a high-class, females-only sex club. She awkwardly tries to appear unimpressed but then she is approached by the owner of the establishment itself: Mysterious, sophisticated Alex Vause, who is also amazingly handsome, starts talking to the flustered newcomer and only a little while later, Piper finds herself signing a contract for lessons, err, sessions in sexual pleasure. Alex normally does not take on clients herself, but because her employees are all fully booked, she decides to make an exception (yeah, like that's the only reason Al, come on!) and thus, the two women find themselves together under the most erotic, but also kinda bizzare circumstances of having a client/mistress relationship. While Alex tries, at first, to maintain a stricly professional attitude, Piper soon finds herself absolutely smitten with the older woman who oh so expertly teaches her how to have not only highly satisfying intimate encounters, but who is also considerate, empathic and remarkably clever. The storytelling is excellent, the creative plot makes it all the more intruiging and the character development is so, so believable and really does the characters justice. And well, yeah, the smut is not to be scoffed at, either! Not everybody can write intimate scenes that are not only hooooot times ten but also depict the character's emotions and their growing feelings for each other so masterly.

But she can't quite get Maura's idea out of her head and so, the two women find themselves in one of their bedroomes, talking about stuff Jane is scared of and Maura starts developing a plan to guide her dear friend. At first, all they do is talk. They talk about sexual encounters, about what Jane would like, what would feel good and why, it starts out harmless enough. But of course, their conversations turn a little more heated very soon, and then, slowly, the touching starts, too. And finally, both women realize that they want more which understandably is horribly frightening and confusing for Jane. But on the other hand, Maura is her safe place. She trusts the medical examiner more and more, she finds herself aching for her presence and aching for her touches.
This story beautifully explores their blossoming relationship and the difficultites they have to face. It is a heartwarming, clever, tender story about true love, and it deals with difficult but extremely important issues like consent, PTSD, boundaries and sexual epression. It is the story about Jane, the surivor of a horrific assault, that changes her life forever but that does not take away her personality and her ability to love fully and desire intimacy - physical and emotional. Somehow, this story delicately manages to walk the fine line between the really dark stuff, the beauty of love blossoming in the most unexpected places under the most unexpected circumstances and also captures this really passionate, intense moments between our two favorite ladies.

"Lessons in Love" - my first ever fanfic in the making (Law & Order: SVU)
I actually can't quite believe that I've posted 8 chapers on ff.net so far, but it does feel nice to have this little "side project" and to simply write something that brings me joy, distracts me from my current, difficult personal situation, and maybe even makes another person smile or feel the feelings TM or whatever. Reading fanfiction is just so magical - one can read exactly the type of stories one feels in the mood for, and there are so many crazily talented writers out there that it makes my head spin!
Can't wait to continue my story, hehe :)
Can we please normalize not asking people about their family, their origin, their ethnic background when doing small talk?! Not everybody wants to talk about their family. Not everybody with a "foreign"-sounding surname or first name cares to talk about their origin and, side note: Many people have been born in the country they live in now and do not enjoy constantly being reminded of their backstory! I am constantly being told that my German is perfect - well, guess what? It's perfect because it's my mother tongue, just because my father's from another country doesn't mean I personally grew up elsewhere!! For many people, these topics that are somehow deemed "small-talk appropriate" by others, are a constant source of stress and "othering", some might have had traumatic experiences in childhood/youth/have no contact to their biological family anymore/have been adopted ect. It's plain rude and nosy and unnecessary to ask such personal question - think before you talk for God's sake
