How to Post for Dramione Month 2024

We will be celebrating Dramione Month across four platforms: Tumblr, Twitter, Instagram, and of course AO3.  We will be tracking the tag #dramione month (with a space) on Tumblr and #dramionemonth (no space) on Twitter. We will be reblogging all relevant posts tagged with #dramione month and retweeting the same on Twitter. We will be reposting all items tagged with #dramionemonth on our Instagram stories. There is also an AO3 collection. Feel free to post on all four platforms if you so choose!

If you post for a prompt that hasn’t come up yet, (for example, posting day 20’s prompt when it’s September 14th) we won’t share the post until the indicated day comes up. We will reblog/retweet for previous days’ prompts if you post past the indicated day!

We’ll go over the AO3 collection further down in the FAQ. Posting to the collection is not required. Feel free to post on whichever platform(s) you’d like! 

On Tumblr

- We will be posting the daily prompt as an image post every day! Feel free to reblog and add your relevant work underneath, we’ll reblog your post!

- We will also be tracking #dramione month and will reblog any stand-alone posts as well. If you are posting separately, please indicate the Prompt/Day your work is for somewhere near the top so we can tag it in our reblog!

- Please tag any relevant content or trigger warnings at the top, if applicable.

- We will be tagging all posts we reblog with both the week theme and individual day prompt for easier navigation.

- Again, we wanted to reiterate that Dramione Month is open to all types of creative works. Feel free to post art pieces, sketches, drabbles, socmeds, ficlets, one-shots, WIP fics, etc.

- We will also be posting a round-up of works posted to the AO3 collection at the end of each day.

On Twitter

- We will be posting the daily prompt as an image tweet every day! Feel free to quote retweet and add your relevant work – we’ll retweet your post!

On AO3

- Dramione Month’s 2024 AO3 collection is [here]. Each Daily prompt is its own Prompt that you can claim as part of the collection; this includes the weekly Free Days! You are free to claim as many or as few as you’d like.

- All works posted to the collection will be hidden and anonymous until the relevant day/prompt occurs, i.e. if you post a work for the Day 20 prompt, it will remain hidden and anonymous until September 20th. Works posted for a previous date’s prompt will not be hidden.

- Works with sensitive and explicit content, including dead doves, are allowed. Please use AO3’s tagging system for all relevant warnings and potentially triggering content. Works with ‘Author Chose Not To Use Archive Warnings’ will not be allowed.

- Works do not have to be complete to post. We encourage WIP works.

- The collection will remain open until October 15th 2024 after the end of Dramione Month to allow for late claiming and posting. Please feel free to post for past days during the month as well!

-When posting to the AO3 collection, you are free to post all your works for Dramione Month as a single AO3 work, with each prompt as a separate chapter. If this is the case, please claim one of the final Free Day (either Day 29 or Day 30) prompts. The only drawback we can see from this is that AO3 now limits how many tags a work can have, thus you may not be able to tag everything relevant for your single work. Another possible downside is that some readers may be turned off by a long wall of tags, with no easy way to know which chapter which tags apply to.

We recommend posting each prompt claim as a single work, and placing each of your works in a series (separate from our Collection) so readers can navigate easily through your prompt fills by clicking 'Next Work' at the bottom of each work.

-When your work is revealed, please remember to change the posting date to the current date!!

- Again, posting to AO3 is optional.

Trailblazing & Stargazing - Chapter 13

As soon as she stepped out of the floo, though a very large, pristine white marble hearth, she heard the unmistakable crack of apparition and was greeted by a house-elf dressed in a charcoal grey butler suit with a regimental tie in green, black and silver. Hermione resisted the urge to roll her eyes, only out of respect for the elf. A Slytherin tie and butler suit, it couldn’t get any more malfoyesque than this.

“Minister Granger.” said the elf, almost begrudgingly. “Welcome to Malfoy House. Carson is calling Master right away.” And, with another crack, he apparated away. Hermione waited, taking in the beauty of the entrance hall. Now, this, was the farthest thing imaginable from Malfoy Manor. The floors and walls were a very faint beige, almost white, the room was airy and full of light. Merely a minute after the elf had left, Malfoy appeared on top of the grand staircase. He was wearing black slacks, a white Oxford shirt and a gray cashmere V-neck sweater. “Granger, welcome.” He said as he descended quickly. As always, he took her hand and brought it a breath away from his lips. “Hello, Malfoy. I’m a bit early for tea, but I must admit I was rather curious.” She replied, regaining possession of her hand. “No need for all the hand kissing charade, we don’t have an audience.” “Granger, I’m aware that the company you normally keep is rather… boorish, but I always have manners, even without an audience.” He smirked and he offered her his arm. “Let us go to the reception room, we can have an early tea” Hermione rolled her eyes as far back as they would go, but took his arm nonetheless. “You are shorter than I remember, Granger.” He commented with a grin. “It’s Sunday afternoon, I was at home minding my own business. I’m allowed to dress comfortably. I left Parkinson’s stilts at home. These are Rose’s sneakers.” She replied with a challenging look in her eyes. “I wasn’t making fun of you. I’m not exceedingly tall myself. I suppose this version is more… you. I’m just glad you didn’t feel the need to put on your Minister mask.” He reassured her. He took her down another grand staircase and accessed a huge room with white marble floors and an indoor pool (insert eye-roll here). They sat down at a large round table underneath a vaulted glass ceiling, right next to a beautiful papyrus plant that jutted out from a round hole in the pristine white floor.

I followed a plot bunny, again. It was supposed to be a one shot, but I may have to split it in 2 chapters since I'm 6k words in and I still need to write the climax (The climax of the story! Merlin's beard! Get your mind out of the gutter!) and then wrap it up nicely.

Your fic does not need to be highly popular. Your fic isn't less valid than a popular author's fic. Your fic isn't inheritly bad. Your fic is amazing. Your fic is valid. The only thing that matters is that you're having fun. Fandom is not consumption and consumerism. Fandom is fun, free and for the people. Fandom is not a popularity contest. We're all nerds at the end of the day.

A while later there was a knock on the door, Eniiyi came through “Mr Malfoy is here, would you like me to let him through?” Hermione nodded in response and Eniiyi, before walking away said “I’ll start heading down for the hearing if you don’t need anything else.”

“I’m fine Eniiyi, go right ahead, I’ll see you later.” Replied Hermione. Eniiyi left and Malfoy came through the door, shutting it behind his back.

“Good morning, Granger. Are you not coming to the hearing?” He asked.

“No, Eniiyi will be there to imply my support without overshadowing Cho’s great work. I’d like to hear your thoughts about it though, I’ll review Eniiyi’s memory when she gets back. Perhaps, you could write a short recap later tonight?”

“Very well, I’ll owl you later.” He nodded and turned around to leave but, before he opened the door, Hermione said

“Did you know Parkinson has a muggle phone?”

He looked at her with a brow raised high. “Parkinson has a muggle what now?”

She huffed. “A phone, Malfoy! It’s a clever bit of technology, much better communication method than floo calls and owl post. You should ask her to help you get one yourself.”

Malfoy shrugged, muttering something under his breath, and left. Hermione got back to work, putting aside all thoughts of what was going on in the Wizengamot chambers. She focused on reading through all the notes she had from the various departments.

That same evening, after supper, Draco enters the Slytherin common room, black robes billowing behind him in a rather impressive Snape impersonation.

"Snake meeting in the den!" Shouts his sonorused voice.

One by one all Slytherin students file into the common room. Draco waits, brooding in a corner, arms crossed. When they are all accounted for, Draco speaks.

"Flint! Why did you tell Professor Granger about the ring?"

"I thought..."

"Yes, in the future, please refrain from thinking. All of you."

The students lower their gazes.

"Your job is to talk about me when Professor Granger can hear you, not tell her I want to marry her! I have to at least take her on one date first!"

A seventh year raises her hand, Draco nods.

"We talked about how handsome you are, she was sitting beside us on the Quidditch stands when you were acting as referee. She ogled you after we said your arse looked good."

"Thank you, Avery. See? That's what I want from you! No more mistakes."
