My reaction when reading this:
Ok I just got hit with ENLIGHTENMENT.
So I was doing what I was doing when I’m bored, thinking of the Magnus archive. So my mind went from how underrated The Dark is then to what the difference of between The Stranger and The Dark. This quickly turned into other underrated entities.
So obviously I realized how ABSOLUTELY UNDERRATED the extinction is. I mean they don’t even have an avatar. So I was like, ‘I should make an oc extinction avatar”.
So I made criteria’s of what the extinction is and how it would reflect in a human. So The Extinction is the fear of change. Which means a human would have portray some part of change. My mind immediately thought of Michael, who also seemed to be ever-changing, VERY inconsistent UNTIL I thought a bit longer.
Michael is not inconsistent, he is actually VERY consistent. While he is inconsistent in the sense of our perception he’s not actually inconsistent. He’s been consistently odd. No matter what you can expect him to be weird, fueled by rage at everything and madness. He is consistent wearing the lie of inconsistency to act like he’s much more complicated than he is.
So the extinction avatar can’t always be weird and shouldn’t be normal which brought me to a new issue, each character has a personality. Which is a HUGE issue for a character like this. We have to balance being weird as hell as well as not being weird as hell but he can’t be just those 2 cause that’s consistent. It would have to be new each time. Which is bad cause we don’t know what type of personality he would have. Is he chill, philosophical, gets high off barbecue sauce???? We won’t know. So now my mind shifts gear, I can’t make an oc so maybe I can find a template character of sorts? A character with big extinction vibes who I could change enough to act like a extinction avatar.
That’s when it hits me. THE BEST CHARACTER. And someone that I absolutely hate. I hate that This CHARACTER FITS SO WELL INTO THE ROLE. Drumroll please
Junko Enoshima
That’s right Junko Enoshima is the best extinction avatar. Think abt it. She’s always inconsistent but also consistent, she has a personality that people can understand. She turns from smart professor to crazy high schooler. Also the cherry on the top is that she ACTUALLY CAUSES GREAT CHANGE. LIKE APOCALYPTIC LEVEL CHANGE. SHE TOOK OVER THE WORLD.

now before I get into lore shit about this fuck I just gotta preface this.
Sariel lore applies by @muzzleroars fallen gabe Au and you can probably see a lot of inspiration from them in Sariels design and the other fallen angel ocs that are to come. (I've got another in the works but I'm trynna do get their fallen design completed)
THIS FUCK TOOK SEVERAL HOURS OF MY LIFE. I had to redesign his pre fall design (trust me the orginal looked like shit) and now that I'm so glad with how the redesign came out I wanna redesign his fallen design now. WHICH SUCKS.
Anyway lore and stuff below
Sariel before his fall was a high ranking virtue (like the highest rank a virtue can be before being an archangel). Sariel also was a highly skilled Archer, at one point being kinda the head of heavens archers.
This is the reason why the council decided that during the lust renousance that he would be one of the angels sent on a reconosanse mission just to see what was happening in hell at the moment.
During this trip he fell in love with a mortal women. Eventually though he did have to go back to heaven because the mission ended, but he'd still make special trips for them just to see them. Infact this affair lasted for a long while.
But eventually the council decided the lust renousance was to be ended. They appointed sariel to lead heavens archers but sariel refused. After a bit of prodding sariel eventually flat out protested ending the lust renousance. Which like pulling a loose thread on a sweater quickly lead to this affair being revealed.
But here's the neat part, when the council was about to inflicted his punishment instead of kneeling and accepting what was going to happen to him like most angels he did something different. He ran, he ran right out of heaven. (Which is considered a big nono!) It's considered cowardly not to accept defeat and specifically run from a fight or something like this. So if he wasn't in trouble before he's super fucked now.
So sariel ended up running to Hell. He went and found his love and then immediately told her to get the out of lust as fast as possible as heaven was going to burn the place to the ground any day now. This would be the last time he ever saw his mortal love again.
They hug and have a sweet moment before sariel rushes to try and get to where King Minos is to warn him of the impeding doom that is to come.
Unfortunately Sariel wasn't able to get to Minos Before heavens armies arrived. In the chaos Sariel ended up being caught and brought back before the council. Where he had his light ripped from him.
Now here's where Sariels story gets REAL interesting.
(but of a quality drop from the last one but eh)
Sariel some how managed to survive his fall and become a "fallen angel". Now since he ran instead of accepting his light being torn from him he wasn't treated with nearly as much respect as other fallen angels who get their own tombs. Sariel was left to rot where he lay. Only being dumped in the remains of lust.
Now here's the part where I answer the question on everyone's mind "why does fallen sariel look so human when he's a virtue?" Because it's his punishment.(I noticed that muzzleroars post about fallen angels didn't have a punishment for fallen lust angels but I kinda get why tbh so I had to come up with it myself)
Fallen angels of lust's punishment is to be forever trapped in the form they worshiped. Aka, trapped in their human disguise . Now to a human that doesn't seem that bad but that's since their human.
For an angel (especially less humanoid ones) it's highly uncomfortable to be in their human disguise for long periods of time. It's like wearing clothes several sizes to small. And now I wasn't able to convey this in the drawings but pre fall Sariel is taller then his human form by a couple feet minimum. Now from an outsiders pov there is no desernible difference from him being human. It also feels incredibly claustrophobic. I wanted to give Sariel a second pair of arms but I wasn't able to add it to the drawing.
But that's enough about his fall it's self let's get to what happens after.
So Sariel fell and is now in the middle of lust after it was decimated by heavens armies and now the corpse of king minos. At this point he's hopeless, he may have survived but to what?
Eventually he decides it would be better if he just descended into deeper into hell. On his adventures he started trying to build himself a replacement for his old armour which no longer fits him as it's designed to fit his much taller and more abstract body.
Although this had a surprising outcome. A pair of Street cleaners, being social creatures, noticed him one day going through junk to try and add to his armour. Well since he's an angel he's not techn biological. So they thought he was also a street cleaner. Just a heavily damaged one. They thought he couldn't beep and such because he was broken and that's why he didn't have aFlame thrower. And so Sariel completely defenceless in his human form was totally freaked out by these two machines.
But it ended up being like a wet stray cat being forcefully taken off the streets.
Eventually Sariel kinda ends up being the mechanic of the crew. He even ends up learning the language of beeps and boops the Street cleaners make although that took years.
They did eventually figure out he was an angel and not a fellow street cleaner but they all had known eachother for so long it did not matter.
This trio ends up going to wrath at one point (not sure why yet, probably blood).
But that leads to the next OC I've got lined up so no spoilers.
I'd also like to think at one point Sariel was by himself in heresy looking for machine parts probably singing to himself YMCA before he heard the distinct sound of one pissed off archangel, barely hiding in time. Only for Gabriel to like rage walk passed to get to the organ he was playing when he met V1 a second time.
He got the fuck out of dodge immediately after though.
That was also his closest encounter to any of the main four archangels in muzzleroars Au.
He had known of them maybe been in the same room as one of them but that was it.
Shit completely forgot about that,
Hold on, according to the terminals the ferryman will fight to see who gets their boat. And if V1 fought one of the ferryman, does that mean there's a boat somewhere in wrath v1 technically owns??
HOLD ON WAIT I HAVE AN ANSWER FOR THIS.....
I HAD TO DIG BUT HERE IT IS!! and also as an additional idea, i do kind of like the thought of v1 using it as a sort of spider's web if it's ever too badly damaged and it needs an easy meal. all of the husks trust the ferryman's ship, so imagine a few poor lost souls calling the ship to them only to get torn apart by v1 the second the step on the deck.
Do you allow ocs of your aus? You've probably already said but the fallen gabe Au has got me in a choke hold and I got an idea for two fallen angels.

aaaa yes in fact i would love to see that!! esp fallen angel ocs bc honestly outside of lucifer, i haven't thought too much on what some of them might be like!!! and thank you sm it means a whole lot that y'all enjoy all of these ideas with me ;o;

Do they ever take there drone pet out on walks or blood hunts? If so do they put a sticker on him or something so he doesn't get mistaken for another drone? And does the ferryman ever petsit?
And how did Gabriel and the little drone meet? Did he notice it couldn't shoot?
oh yeah i like to think the drone goes out sometimes with them!! it got to meet the virtues (they're....kind of similar.....) and gabriel brings it out to hunt for fresh blood (it can be difficult to get v1 to share, so he typically feeds it). the drone actually regularly gets custom paint jobs from v1, where it picks out radioactive palettes that it WISHES it could have itself but because of its special plating, it has to live vicariously through the drone lol gabriel isn't sure if they're pleasing or even cohesive choices most times, but it is pretty cute that the drone always goes to look at itself in the mirror every time and seems excited so...perhaps it's a machine thing. the ferryman approves of its expressed creativity, and they do look after the drone when they stay at gabriel and v1's apartment - it doesn't need much supervision (it won't wander off on its own that this point for the most part, though curiosity can get the better of it), but they find it a charming companion and probably the closest thing one can have to a pet in hell.
i think gabe likely saw the drone on its own, which is unusual for them since he's only ever seen them in groups - when he went in for a closer look, it tried to fly away rather than engage which told him something was definitely wrong. he thought it was a little funny, almost like rescuing an injured bird, but he knew it would never survive with a broken gun otherwise...though honestly, drones don't really survive in any case, given how fragile they are, so maybe this one was actually pretty lucky

Somewhere else is such a fun theory because you can just but john and martin into any game series/anime/ book/ what ever.
Like can you imagine john and Martin settling down in their new universe in the middle of the woods and Martin says something like "this universe isn't too different from ours! :D".
And then the look on john's face as he realizes in this universe Christianity was right and Mankind is dead, blood is fuel and hell is full.
Alternatively, she is put into another universe but all of the machines and Charaters are her peers in her original universe.
Ie. Minos is the principal and Sissyphus is the gym teacher. The swordsmachine is the head of the fencing club. Gabriel is the head of the student council who pretends he's got shit but folds if you do so much as breath on him wrong.
I imagine her seeing one of her peers for the first time would go something like this. Cut Incase your just not interested.
Mirage: never thought I'd say this but thank fuck your here, everything is trying to kill me and I don't know what's going on-
Swordsmachine *pulling out sword slowly*: yea, thank fuck your here. My tank was getting low.

I was gonna do more but this individually took me an hour.
After seeing the recent posts I just had too,
Fallen Gabe au by @muzzleroars. Raphael is fun to draw.
Land of the lustrous/ houseki no kuni and ultrakill have so much in common it's not even funny. But I fucking love it, now here me out.
Humanity is dead and the things that have come after are threatened by the remains of what came before. Nihilism is present in both series aswell as religious themes and a character being corrupted by realizing how things truly work.
The lunarians from hnk being the souls of humans simply wanting to pass on while the husks from Ultrakill being the remains of said humans bodies in hell.
Kongo sensei in hnk being like ultrakill heaven by desperately trying to make the lustrous live like how humans did long before them even carving them into a more humanoid shape. While heaven in ultrakill tries desperately to keep the things the same as they always have been even long after humanity's death and the disappearance of god.
The lustrous in hnk being like the machines in ultrakill. Both being what comes after humanity desperately trying to pick up the pieces and caught in between the battle of the lunarians/ heaven and Congo sensei/ hell.
Phos and Gabriel would also be similar in how they both started with a strong almost positive outlook before haveing said outlook being shake To its core by a loss of something apart of their body. Gabriel haveing lost his light and his faith shaken by V1 and the council takeing his said light leaving him to die within 24 hours and phos haveing lost their legs, arms, And head as well as most of their memories granted I'll say phos has changed far more then Gabriel has (so far) in ultrakill.
Both series also have a sense of nilalism though both with a different take on it. Ultrakill take being (in large part due to mirage) that the pointlessness of it all is what makes life worth living while hnk has a much more somber and sobering take of "to live is to suffer,"
And another thing!! Both series have largely non binary casts! Hnk because they are all rocks and the few Charaters that are gendered are lunarians, while ultrakill has robots and husks who you couldn't tell what gender they are anyway with the only cannonical gendered characters being either angels or prime souls!
And don't even get me started about the religious themes in both series! Hnk of course being Buddhist (I might've gotten that wrong please don't butcher me) and ultrakill being Christian.
I could go on but I haven't read hnk in like a year. And I don't wanna get this to too wrong.
My prediction for ultrakill is that it's gonna turn out Gabriel is a machine,

I doubt it and I don't really have much evidence but if I had a nickel for eachother of my friends thought he was a robot and not an angel on first sight I'd have two nickels,

The idea of looking over the rageing ocean stix just to see a faintly shadowy figure WALKING calmly and slowly over the hundreds of thousands of poor lost souls in the stix ocean. IS SUCH A TERRIFYING THOUGHT, like you've freshly died your just a little filth and over the boats intercom you hear the ferryman who's been kind and friendly to you say something like "buckle down and avoid windows in the west end, fallen wrath angel may be aggressive" and you turn to see that fuckin shit like at least a mile away from the boat? Hell naw man!! I'd be fuckin dead immediately.

Based on Fallen Gabe and your post about if the brothers fell, it seems like fallen angels bound to specific layers are physically affected based on whatever sin they've committed. What do you think would happen to an angel bound to the other layers (Limbo, Lust, Gluttony, Greed, and Wrath)?

yea i really like the idea of angels reflecting the layer that they are assigned to and being a sort of living embodiment of that torment. limbo would be seemingly be the least affected, of course - they appear as the perfect ideal of angels that humanity holds, statue-like and without identity. they are overwhelmed in hopelessness, left to mourn in the corners of limbo with little ability to interact with those around them. the angels of lust are shades with flickering physical forms that are unable to hold another but cannot be buffeted by lust's winds - i very much like the idea they are sometimes rarely seen stalking the streets of minos's city. those in gluttony are incapable of ever feeling sated, plagued by all number of material needs but never able to satisfy them - hunger, thirst, fatigue, discomfort, all things never felt by angels now forever tormenting them (though they seem unbothered by gluttony's acid or sleet). the greedy cannot bear to go out into their layer's sun for how badly it blisters their skin and burns their eyes; they are fully adapted to the darkness of greed's monuments and tombs, and they often chase sinners back out to the sands when they seek shade. finally, angels of wrath are in a constant state of drowning, choked by water in their lungs and so seized forever with the sense that they are dying. it causes them to act the most erratically of any fallen angels and can be exceedingly dangerous to sinners because of this - the ferrymen are adept at avoiding them, always looking out for the worsening weather that heralds their presence and dark silhouettes that walk over the waters of the ocean styx.
