I don't understand this portrayal of Cardan as a scared baby who hides behind Jude. The man has thrown himself between her and sharp pointies at least twice. Not to mention how he went to confront a troll so she wouldn't run headlong into a battle she might not win. He may leave the sword fighting and stuff to her, but he's not hiding behind her. I know that's a reputation he's not tried to debunk, and has at times actively cultivated, but I thought the audience was supposed to be in on the ruse, at least. He's a coward the same way he's stupid. Which is to say he isn't either. I sincerely believe Jude wouldn't have fallen for him if he was a coward.
Of the two, Cardan is the diplomat. He tries to talk his way out of problems, and if that doesn't work, he steps aside and lets his wife do her thing. They are a team. That's why they're so fun as a couple. That and the fact that they would absolutely fight over who got to take a bullet for the other.
✨holy trinity of jumping timebomb✨
oh, that explains a lot.
it especially explains why I felt like ma meilleure ennemie was so specifically about ekko and jinx's relationship and their feelings for each other, yet it didn't feel like "let's explain everything that happens" type of song, it's more about exploring what went and still goes on between them behind the scenes, exploring what we don't get a chance to see.
it's like connecting the dots, in a good way, like you see the full picture after you complete the puzzle.
anyway, stromae is a genius and I am, as always, right this makes me wanna scream even more about "pretend like it's the first time" and how great it is.
"Ah, if it isn't Zaun's royalty. My liege."
Day 3: Parenthood 🎏
What do I expect from Arcane season 2 finale
Paulina: *in love with Danny Phantom*
Sam: "Only liking him for his power. Such an idiot! There's so much more than just his suit! Like his witness and perfect hair and heroic instinct-"
Danny: "I've just decided to be normal again! No more ghost fights or anything related to that! Just me being my old normal teenage self!"
Sam: "...."
Sam: "I'm out of here"
Valerie: "I can take him!"
I haven't seen this talked about much, but I just know Jinx probably wanted to crash tf out when the Firelights first came on the scene and started messing with Silco and the chem-barons. Like imagine cutting ties with your best friend—breaking his heart and your own in the process—in order to protect him from your rotten luck and Silco's wrath, and then instead of making a life somewhere safe, he starts a fucking resistance movement against your boss/father figure. Now you have to fight him on a regular basis and mean it because if you don't, he's never gonna give up on the memory of his childhood friend. And then, as the months and years and fights go by, you have to watch as he starts to hate you and pretend it doesn't hurt when your own feelings never changed.
I do sorta wonder if the reason some people are finding it hard to jump to Oak/Wren from jurdan is because their comparing Jude to Wren and Oak to Cardan... like there are parallels but I think we're supposed to compare Oak→Jude and Wren→Cardan.
There is a clear difference between Jude fans on Tumblr and Jude fans on Tik Tok.
On Tumblr, people actually get Jude's character. They go more into her character and get/understand who she actually is. That there is more to her and how she's a selfless person that will do anything for the people she loves.
On Tik Tok, she's only a killer. That's it. She's just morally grey to them. I mean yeah, she killed people but she isn't the unhinged killer that TT fans perceive her as. The "You're not a killer, Jude" thing and how they go on saying, "then she kills Valerian!" Nah, Madoc means that she isn't like him. Jude is a killer but she's not a true killer. MADOC DIPS A CLOAK IN THE BLOOD OF THE PEOPLE HE KILLS. And they always use that fanart of her with blood on her head. I do like it but y'all stay using it, get something else.
The people who glaze Jude annoy me. The ones who think that she can defeat anyone because she's a human who has tricked her way and killed a couple of fae. If you tell them that there are characters who can defeat her, they go "NUH UH." FUCK YOU MEAN?
The slideshows where they put four characters and say who will win and people have the audacity to say "Jude will win." My girl is NOT winning this, I'm sorry. She's still human at the end of the day. It's only fair if you put her against other human characters like Kaz Brekker or Aaron Warner.
I saw a slideshow that had Jude, Feyre, Aelin, and Fang Runin. In the comments, someone said "They would just team up and be friends." Nah. Jude would be disgusted by Rin and her actions, Feyre and Aelin too. Rin committed genocide. And I don't think Rin is capable of making friends besides Kitay. Why would Jude be friends with a woman who committed heinous crimes like this?
The mischaracterization of Jude will never not piss me off.
