I don't understand this portrayal of Cardan as a scared baby who hides behind Jude. The man has thrown himself between her and sharp pointies at least twice. Not to mention how he went to confront a troll so she wouldn't run headlong into a battle she might not win. He may leave the sword fighting and stuff to her, but he's not hiding behind her. I know that's a reputation he's not tried to debunk, and has at times actively cultivated, but I thought the audience was supposed to be in on the ruse, at least. He's a coward the same way he's stupid. Which is to say he isn't either. I sincerely believe Jude wouldn't have fallen for him if he was a coward.

Of the two, Cardan is the diplomat. He tries to talk his way out of problems, and if that doesn't work, he steps aside and lets his wife do her thing. They are a team. That's why they're so fun as a couple. That and the fact that they would absolutely fight over who got to take a bullet for the other.

Athena: Odysseus is just a really good guy. He's so smart and brave and funny and--

Ares (sighing loudly): I get it!

Athena: If you got to know him, you'd like him too.

Ares: You've been talking about him for FIVE HOURS! At this point, I do know him!

Athena (crossing her arms): You'll see what I mean one day.

(After "one day")

Ares (beside Athena's infirmary bed): Oh my gosh, Athena! You should have been there! He started stabbing Poseidon like (acts it out) and Poseidon was all like "Stop! Ah!" and Odysseus was all like "You never stopped!"

Athena (smirking): Told you that you'd like him.

Ares (gently smooshing her with a pillow): You didn't say he was violent. You should've led with that.

Rio: "Ok, young lady, let's do this one last time, alright estimado?"

Gwen: "Yes, ma'am!"

Gwen: "We don't put our shoes on our bed or others people bed. We call the adults by their last names. We don't sneak into people's houses by their windows!"

Rio: *tearing up*

Rio: That's my chica!

Gwen: Thanks! Let's have a chai tea
