the idea was petey try to teach lil petey to stop being so animalistic (not even just being dog-like)

all because of his own experience of being a cat and how that was taken advantage of just to dehumanize him

cuz i found it interesting that petey acts soo uptight and doesn't allow himself to be a cat

the story petey was going to tell was how when he got adopted when he was a teen, he was treated more like a pet than a child. it wouldn't be completely awful either if his owner FED HIM. (reference to diaper babies)

so ever since then he made sure to be the smartest and 'proper' cat he could be. but lil petey would bring up the reasoning of "no matter how proper you are, aren't people still going to be mean to you?" "so might as well be hated but be ur happy unfiltered self then make yourself palatable for people who wouldn't had like you anyway."

then they get to be just cats like how dogman gets to be just a dog
