There’s this convo on twitter about last birthday comic -about how everyone having so much fun seeing Tajima and Izumi slaying Abe :))) So I make an extra about it :p
“What are you doing?”
Bruce startles suddenly as a young voice distracts him from the delicious kisses Clark happened to be giving him. “Dickie? Sweetheart what are you doing here?” Bruce questioned softly, pulling away from Clark’s hold and rushing over to his ward. “Are you okay? Did something happen?” Bruce questioned softly.
Dick didn’t seem to be paying attention as Bruce picked him up and cradled him in his arms, instead, he was entirely focused in on Clark standing awkwardly by the table they were just making out on.
“What were you doing?” Dick questioned again, making Clark squirm. The kid’s bright blue eyes were staring into his soul, no trace of the jovial warmth that they usually held.
“Well…” Bruce started, Clark could see his mind moving at a million miles per hour trying to find the best way to explain what happening to the 10 year old. “You know how I told you Clark and I are special friends?”
“Yes… I thought that it just meant best friends.” Dick scowled, finally looking away from Clark and pouting up at Bruce. “I didn’t know that meant kissy friends.”
Bruce made a face and Clark decided now was probably the best time for him to step in and say something. Clark cleared his throat softly and stepped closer to the two. “Um, Dick-“
Clark was cut off by a very sharp glare from the young boy, his lips curled back in a snarl that made the indestructible man pause.
“Chum-“
“Tati, I’m sleepy…” Dick suddenly whined, throwing his arms around Bruce’s neck and burying his face in his shoulder. “Can we go home now? Want you to read me a bedtime story…”
Bruce immediately melted, cooing softly as he patted Dick on the back. “Of course my love, let’s go home right now.” Bruce agreed, throwing Clark an apologetic smile. “I’ll see you later Kal.”
Clark couldn’t help the love sick smile spreading across his face as he watched Bruce walk away, however, Dick could very much help it. Clark’s smile slid off his face once he saw the evil glare the ten year old was throwing at him over Bruce’s shoulder.
He couldn’t help shivering from the chill he felt crawling up his back. “Shit.” Clark muttered, running a hand through his hair.
He had the smallest inkling he just ruined any good grace he had with the young boy due to his romantic relationship with Bruce. How is it that he’s so scared of such a little boy?
I know we've all analyzed and waxed tragic-gay about the Byler Rain FightTM to death, but I've never heard anyone acknowledge how devastating it is that Will is still honest to Mike even after his (internalized) homophobic "it's not my fault you don't like girls!" comment.
Like I saw this post about how Will's honesty sets him apart from the other kids in Season 3, but it still absolutely floors me how, in the face of Mike's anger and hurtful words, Will doesn't deny being gay, even though it would be completely understandable for him to automatically protest or get defensive (like a certain cringefail boykisser we know...). Because even then, while experiencing the shock and complete betrayal of Mike's words, Will couldn't lie to Mike. Like that's so sad, actually just end me rn ;-;
Instead, it's his pure, overwhelming love for Mike and his desire to see Mike happy that ultimately pushes him to lie to Mike for the first time, not his betrayal.
This is why I don't buy that Mike knew he was lying during the van confession scene. Mike has always trusted Will implicitly, even more so in that moment because his assumption that Will had been concealing things from him since moving to California (and if he's hiding things from him then who knows what else he's been doing, surely he must be lying to Mike now too!) was dispelled by the painting reveal. If anything, this act of love only affirms that trust even more.
I'm so ready for the "What painting?" moment in S5. I need it magically teleported to my screen right now please!
I saw this photo and my brain was like “POV: you’re Jin Ling and you’re caught sneaking back in after sneaking out”

what if AU where death note is just an in-universe work of fiction and all of them are just actors. i call this my coping AU LOL
I LOVE this AU!!
a short collection of thoughts concocted by someone who is very used to defending a character that is shitted on and misunderstood by half the fandom and victimized by poor writing choices.
"she abandoned barb and that's why she died"
principally... a shitty thing to do, but i'd ARGUE it was a lapse of judgement that literally triggers her entire character arc. HEAR ME..
and a weaker, but still valid argument that does not excuse her decision, but is fair nonetheless.. how was she supposed to know barb was going to get swallowed up by an inter dimensional monster in the pool???… just saying. JUST SAYING.
Like I mentioned, it triggered a huge character arc for Nancy. Nancy felt awful that Barb went missing, and she recognized her faults. This guilt and confusion toward the tragedy led her to other realizations, like the state of her relationship, who Steve is as a person, and her own identity. My girl had a lot on her plate and she paid her debts in FULL solving Hawkins mysteries to not only compensate for what happened to Barb, but protect her friends and family!!!!!!
Don’t even get me started on how she felt not being able to tell Barb’s parents once she found out what really happened. Must’ve been awful.
everyone who hates her because of the love triangle she's subjected to are (and i’m sorry to say it but not really,) stupid. her character is obviously trying to break out of being central to a love triangle, but the writers can not for the life of them figure out what to do with steve and jonathan past s3 developmentally, which keeps her stuck in that place.
Nancy is so badass and has so much potential.
Someone also pointed out the underlying misogynistic issue of keeping women’s development “at bay,”— whether it be intentional or not!!— by having their entire importance dependent on male characters. That’s a post for another day, though.
and i'd like to point out she's not in a place like el, who is also in a canon love triangle, but also completely able to realize and explore her independence after catalysts (being friends with max, breaking up with mike).
THIS IS BECAUSE SHE HASNT HAD THE CHANCE TO BE AUTHENTICALLY ALONE AND REALIZE THE IMPACT OF HER OWN CATALYSTS (barb incident, solving hawkins mysteries)!
nancy’s character— to me and many others feels like she is given the illusion of choice by the writers. nancy in her love triangle is more like mike in his. she is not given the same opportunity to branch out, and is instead stuck choosing between two people, like mike. el's only choice is mike or herself. despite both being female characters that discover their independence, nancy isn't far enough on the receiving end to have her own arc.
Now logically, Nancy could branch out and be alone, and so could Mike. However, just like Mike is set up to be in love with Will, Nancy is set up to be in love with her male interests. Whereas this is sets a tone of freedom and accomplishment for Mike’s character, this.. to me, sets a tone of imprisonment and stillness for Nancy’s.
i would really like to see more parallels between these two friendships in season 5. like el and max, robin and nancy didn't start off being best friends!!
nancy was standoffish toward robin like el was with max, and they both reacted that way because of a boy, but then slowly realized they valued their female friendship more than romance.
this friendship helped el escape vecna and the idea that she needs approval from the males in her life.
i think it would be cool if they didsomething like that with robin and nancy instead of keeping her at such a stand still with steve and jonathan in the final season.
FIN🤌🏾
i love the enthusiasm, but mike was canonically specifically styled to look like eddie per the stylists who work on ST, not to mention them both being party leaders and dms. mike admired eddie and looked up to him. meanwhile gareth has the light brown bowl cut like will, and he doesn’t take the dm role up, much like will rarely takes up the dm mantle in the boys’ party.
and I love your enthusiasm anon. It got me in a thinking mode.
Since you seem to like the Mike-Eddie parallel so much, let me give you a better nugget : Eddie plays the guitar and Mike has the guitar.
you are suggesting HAIR, DM, Mike's admiration for Eddie makes for a better case for eddie and mike parallel. so let me address them one by one. reasons why i don't agree with it:
Hair theory. Let's just say, hair is the dealbreaker. The scene where Chrissy is unable to remember Eddie as he used to have short hair. So his hair theory is inconclusive.
Also, I am sorry but I never came across such a specific mention by the creators about Eddie and Mike being canonically similar. Not even Stylist, I looked it up and I didn't find anything. This is from the official stylist and she doesn't mention the eddie and mike connection: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iI3j673h0GE&t=37s
2. Mike as DM. Let me remind you of s3 which specifically showed Will as the DM. Him and eddie take their d&d way more seriously than any other party member. reflected in their over the top d&d setup and prep for it. (Will must've broken his back, the whole season 3 he was only setting up the damn game) Mike on the other hand is easily distracted by phone calls and Letters(el suggests will may have replaced him and even after they win at eddie's satanic campaign he seems distraught). His commitment is more towards Will than the game itself. so i don't see him and eddie on same plane there. not questioning mike's proficiency though.
3. Mike admiration for Eddie and looking up to him: Just think about it this way. Mike is shown to have a tiny crush on Eddie.
I don't know why they would choose to show this, unless he is a narcissist who likes himself or people like him or maybe simply because Eddie is nothing but another version of Will.
If you recall Will and Eddie have been aligned together since S4 aired, see the old posts of 2022 and I pinned this parallel because I knew some would argue.
Will & Eddie parallelism
focus on Nuances: in the context of d&d. (Bear with me)
Authoritative mannerism of eddie and will.
Eddie: "it's the championship game?" "Can i level with you"?
Will: “is it? is it early Michael?”
2. Will and Eddie’s speech: Words of encouragement to become heroes.
3. Mike's Act of Pacification : its a rarity to see Will pissed. Angry Will also overpowers Mike within fragments of seconds
During their fight Mike was defensive and right after will left He went out of the way to fix things. He does not enjoy angry will. Apologises to will and goes out to find sub for eddie.
4. Missing Member: Eddie and Will are both pissed about a missing member. And lash out at mike for ruining the party.
5. The Erica connection: s3 shows dustin and lucas giving Will's D&D to Erica. and right after that s4 she joins the hellfire where eddie is the DM. its a little telling.
6. s5
