Obviously it’s going to be more of a long-distance relationship. While you’re very much in love, monitoring the world for distress calls ultimately is more important, and you accept that!

You met during a rescue operation. He was gathering intel from you for a rescue, keeping in contact with you to keep the other brothers updated on the status of the people in distress. To be honest, he found you pretty cute, but brushed it off as a brief crush.

He couldn’t get you off his mind after the rescue, and was super duper confused about this, he’s had the odd crush before, but nothing like this.

He got back into touch with you under the guise of a “routine check up” on how everyone was doing, and you grew closer through idle chats after establishing how everyone is.

He likes to take things slow, and it wasn’t until after a few (very far apart) dates that he asked you to move to Tracy Island with him - despite his constant absence, but he wanted to feel closer to you, and know that you were there waiting for him during his visits.

When he’s home, you’ll share a bed, although he’s a bit dubious about it at first after being so used to having his own space, but he learns to like it in the end, finding your sleeping face with the stars in the background a rather serene image.

When he’s not home, he’ll holo-call you regularly to check up on how you’re doing. It’s in these moments that you remind him to take care of himself, with eating, sleeping, etc. 

The other brothers don’t comment on your relationship, sure they were confused at first because of John introverted nature, but they soon grew to become fond of you themselves, finding happiness in the fact that John has found someone who makes him feel true happiness.

Naturally, when he’s home, the two of you will regularly stargaze together. You pick out the biggest, brightest star as your star, and the two of you will always try to locate it at the beginning of each stargazing session.

There’s very little PDA, if any. Sure you want to hug him so so bad when he comes home, but that has to wait until you’re behind closed doors.

I’m not nearly as good a writer as you (I read Bring Our Starman Home, and I cried like a baby), so here’s the idea I came up with.

John is forced to come home after Ghost Ship and spend some time on Earth to get checked over for injuries, and Scott goes to talk to him about his first mission (I know there was EOS, but that was on his own ship, saving himself. This is the first one we see that he saves people.)

I know it’s not much, but it’s something. :)

The official title this is saved under is ‘John post Spider Smashing V2′ but tbh it probably works for most John-gets-into-trouble-in-space/with-gravity/assorted-evils kind of things… I’d love to have someone give this a proper story so ideas are welcome XD xx
