what always made the most sense to me aside from this is reclaiming the 2 in bi not as actual genders, but as hetero & homo attraction.
i love how no one on this site knows anything about lgbt history. fucking obviously "bi" literally means "two," but that label was put upon us by cishets who only recognize gender as two sexes with the purpose of pathologising us. we reclaimed it and redefined it to suit the ACTUAL meaning of our sexuality, which, as according to the bisexual manifesto (1990), which was literally even titled Anything That Moves, bisexuality has always been an attraction to all genders. every single one. not any 2, not 2 or more. all genders.
i feel like if you want to have solidarity with bisexuals you should think about which experiences you consider gay/lesbian exclusive & whether thatβs really the case. like. looking visibly gay or being gnc or having a complex relationship with gender bc of your sexuality or experiencing homophobia or having your experiences βstolenβ by being in the closet or having your sexuality be a major influence on your life or wanting to look a certain way for men/women bc youβre mlm/wlw etc., ive seen many gay men & lesbians reblogging bi & gay solidarity posts who treated those things like exclusively gay/lesbian experiences when theyβre very obviously not
Based on the original from this post, which is about how gnc women can still be women and don't have to id as nonbinary just bc they are gnc. I posted this in a reblog to that post, but felt it deserves its own post as well.
To be clear, I get why you may not want to call yourself bisexual even if it technically fits. I'm bisexual, too, but I've felt like that plenty of times in the past several years. Using only other terms for your sexuality is fine as well, or you can call yourself bi and other terms (e.g. bi and pansexual).
note: they are doubled in rows. if you want to use one as they look above, you will need to duplicate it. I hope it is no inconvenience!
