parents, please be consistent and communicate clearly, in advance, when it comes to household chores.

kids should be helping with chores in a shared household (and learning how to be self-sufficient in the future). but! kids also deserve to have their free time respected by not having chores sprung on them unexpectedly. and assigning them chores at random just encourages them to isolate themselves from the family. talk with them in advance about what’s expected–setting & respecting clear boundaries will make you both happier.

But imagine if you lived in a country where the color of your skin got you killed for driving, jogging, sleeping, yelling, parking, babysitting, sitting in a van, selling CDs, selling cigarettes, opening the door, walking at night, wearing a hoodie at night, holding a toy gun, lying on the ground, being homeless, being in a dark stairwell, holding a cell phone, having a broken taillight, exercising horses, having a bottle of pills, shopping at Walmart, holding a BB gun at Walmart, holding a phone in your own backyard, eating ice cream in your own house, and shopping, you would say, “That is a lawless country.”

The way that we learn about Helen Keller in school is an absolute outrage. We read “The Miracle Worker”- the miracle worker referring to her teacher; she’s not even the title character in her own story. The narrative about disabled people that we are comfortable with follows this format- “overcoming” disability. Disabled people as children. Helen Keller as an adult, though? She was a radical socialist, a fierce disability advocate, and a suffragette. There’s no reason she should not be considered a feminist icon, btw, and the fact that she isn’t is pure ableism- while other white feminists of that time were blatent racists, she was speaking out against Woodrew Wilson because of his vehement racism. She supported woman’s suffrage and birth control. She was an anti-war speaker. She was an initial donor to the NAACP. She spoke out about the causes of blindness- often disease caused by poverty and poor working conditions. She was so brave and outspoken that the FBI had a file on her because of all the trouble she caused.

Yet when we talk about her, it’s either the boring, inspiration porn story of her as a child and her heroic teacher, or as the punchline of ableist, misogynistic jokes. It’s not just offensive, it’s downright disgusting.

Went to the Aboriginal artifact exhibit in Chicago. And it’s interesting. How many blankets and masks and totem poles say ‘unknown source’, because every five seconds my mom would stop and point to something and say. “Pauline’s grandmother made that,” or, “That belongs to Mike’s family, I should call him” because. It’s all stolen

Tumblr User Hailo-c, Also Known As SquigglyDigg, Also Known As Squigglydigglydoo, Has Been Deleting Replies

Tumblr user Hailo-c, also known as SquigglyDigg, also known as squigglydigglydoo, has been deleting replies and blocking everyone calling them out on their bullshit.

So here, since I can’t reblog this post anymore, let me make my own:

This is a post made by tumblr user formerly known as SquigglyDigg, best known for their hits of “Lilo and Stitch is a bad movie because Lilo, the 6 year old suffering from trauma of losing her parents, is actually abusive” - this was their biggest hit that led to the reveal they had such amazing /s takes such as: “Immigrant kids belong in cages, actually”, “Kids need to be bullied because it builds character”, “anti-fascists are fascists actually” “White people are oppressed in Hawaii”, “White artists should be allowed to say the n-word” and many, many more racist, homophobic, transphobic statements that while I can’t link to right now because tumblr soft-blocks posts with links, but search the username SquigglyDigg on tumblr or twitter and you’ll find them instantly. I even reblogged some.

They are trying to run a story right now on their tumblr of “I am a victim you guise, twitter mob mentality is just insane, even your friends will turn on you”, meanwhile they support Trump, the attempted coup, joined fash alt-right websites and have a history of being horrible and holding horrible beliefs.

The Mystery Skulls animated already cut them off as soon as they could, along with other artists, musical or otherwise, removing any colabs they had together.

Tumblr is calmer than twitter nowadays so they think they  can get away with coming back here but here is the thing: We don’t want you here either. Fuck off. Fuck off all the way to Parler and Gab and your alt right fashy friends there.
