Google is ready to launch Nexus 8

It’s time for switch a focus on the Google Nexus 8. The LG tablet was spotted on Google’s website last year, but was removed and since then a rumors are in the air about its launch.

It seems like Google has plan to push out the Nexus 8 tablet in 2014.  By the way the new Nexus will be more properly to call Nexus 9 because it will get an 8.9-inch QHD display with  resolution of 2560x1440 pixels.

Digitimes said that it will be equipped with a quad core processor Snapdragon 801 and 2GB of RAM. As the operating system can be selected an Android 4.5 which will be announced also in June. Other details about Nexus 8 are still unknown.

Google Nexus 8 can retail for about $300 and we hope to see it this summer.

Samsung GALAXY S5 ascends to the throne

Samsung launched a new flagship smartphone Galaxy S5. Company also affirms that bundled with the new handset they will bring the  Galaxy Gear 2 which will be 15-20% thinner than its predecessor.

Galaxy S5 will also be supplied with 2.5GHz Quad Core application processor and 2GB of RAM. Amount of internal memory 16/32GB (+ microSD slot up to 128GB). The new smartphone will receive Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box. The device, as expected, got a fingerprint sensor integrated into the home button. Samsung Galaxy S5 also has a 2800mAh battery which will support the smartphone during the day or more with moderate use. S5 is equipped with Wi-Fi 802.11, Bluetooth 4.0, USB 3.0, NFC and certainly LTE.

Amazon slashed the price of its 64GB Fire Phone to $100 with a two-year contract, down from $300. Off contract it costs is $649.99 and $749.99 respectively.

Gionee plans to launch the ultra thin Elife S5.5

Gionee has announced a 5.5mm thick smartphone.  The Elife S5.5 is a new Android device that equipped with a 5-inch FullHD display (1920x1080 pixels), Mediatek octa-core processor 1.7GHZ and 2GB of RAM. The handset also includes a 16GB of built in storage, a 13 MP rear facing camera and a 5MP front facing camera. Gionee Elife S5.5 will go on sale on the 18th of March in China for $354.

Nokia Lumia 630 in the spotlight

Nokia prepared a new budget smartphone Lumia 630. The phone has a five different body colors. The Lumia 630 will shoot without physical button for controlling the operation of the camera.

After presentation of OM-D EM-10, Olympus announced the launch of Olympus Stylus Tough TG-850 camera.This camera is resistant to falls and dust. Stylus Tough TG-850 is also waterproof to 10m which makes it suitable for use in the most challenging weather conditions.

TG-850 is enclosed in a solid sealed body that allows to withstand compressive load up to 100kg and the preservation of operability after falling from a height of 2 meters. In addition, the camera can be used at temperatures up to minus 10 degrees Celsius (14F).

At the heart of Olympus waterproof camera is 16MP (1/2,3-inch) CMOS sensor and high-performance image processor TruePic VII. The shutter speed range is 1/2000-1/2s.
