LG unveils G2 Mini in several variations

Besides climbing LG G3, the company officially announced that G2 Mini also would be unveiled at MWC in Barcelona. New small flagship smartphone will come with the same components that G2.

LG G2 Mini will feature a 4.7-inch screen with a resolution of 960x540 pixels, a much smaller than full-size handset (the predecessor has 5.2-inch display with 1080p). The new device will come in several variations of network connectivity: Single SIM / DualSIM and 3G or 4G LTE.

G2 Mini will be powered by Qualcomm quad-core processor 1.2 GHz or Nvidia quad-core Tegra 4i (1.7GHz) accordingly. All models got a 8-megapixel camera with LED flash, 2440mAh battery, 8 GB of internal memory and slot for memory cards MicroSD and 1GB of RAM. The smartphone runs on the Android 4.4 Kit Kat operating system.

Sony VAIO Prototype is capable to compete with Windows tablets as well as all other brands altogether

Sony continues in hot pursuit. Earlier we have already seen iPad Mini 3 and iPad Air 2 tablets and even Nexus 9, which are ready to offer us new technologies, which are developed especially to attract consumers. Now is the time for VAIO tablet, which also is eager to take part in this show.

Looking at its new design you can find similarity with the Microsoft's Surface Pro tablets. Most probably Sony will also follow the tablet strategy based on a removable keyboard cover with a sustainable capability to compete with iOS and Android devices.

VAIO Prototype Tablet PC is armed with an Intel Quad Core Processor and Intel Iris Pro Graphics powerful enough to provide the 12.3-inch LCD screen with faultless and impeccable video stream at a high resolution of 2560x1704 pixels with over than 95 percent color gamut Adobe RGB coverage.

Just like Surface Pro 3 the new VAIO will have Gigabit Ethernet and Mini Display ports, HDMI, two USB 3.0 and Audio output. SDXC Memory cards and Digital Pen are also supported.

Sony declines to come down to earth and stand near the mortal tablets, as the price we have received after currencies recalculation should be around $1825-1830. It is still unknown whether the device will appear on the US market right away or will come out step-by-step. Maybe Sony will launch 12.3-inch VAIO as a limited edition only for wealthy Japanese, but it is not known for certain.

Acer will launch a new powerful Chromebook

One more member of the Chromebook family has appeared in front of you. Now a new laptop from Acer does not look like a pimply teenager, today matured Acer Сhromebook CB5 is ready to challenge to current leader in this market HP Chromebook 14.

A new Acer Chromebook with the index СВ5, as expected will be launched with an unbelievable battery capable of continuously keeping the device for up to 13 hours of work on a charge. No, Acer didn't insanely enlarge a simple battery as you might think in the rush, their main idea was to do something with a phlegmatic temper and to be immortal on the other hand. Undoubtedly some of it nevertheless turned out.

According to the CT scan of the brain Acer Сhromebook CB5 is equipped with Nvidia quad-core Tegra K1 processor and 4GB of RAM, that probably does not make the boy a genius like Einstein, but it can't be called dullard. Other features of the Acer Chromebook include a 13.3-inch display offering a resolution of 1366x768 pixels.

There are rumors that the company will release a twin of CB5 which will differ by Intel Core i3 Haswell processor and touchscreen that supports a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels. But we expect that this model will die after 9-10 hours of work. Relying on the same rumors these Chromebooks feature a quad-core Nvidia ARM Cortex-A15 GPU, 32GB of internal storage together with a card slot SD, 2xUSB 3.0 ports and a 720p front-facing camera.

Unfortunately there is reliable information on pricing and worldwide release date, but we expect that the model with a lower resolution will not force you to go beyond the budget of $ 325. The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is now official

It seems like Samsung has completely revealed all details. In earlier known specifications there were some changes and they are waving in front of us with new details about Galaxy Note 4 right now.

The Galaxy Note 4 will come with a 5.7-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display at a demented resolution of 2560x1440 pixels (515 ppi). Inside of the body itself the quad core 2.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 or eight core Samsung Exynos 5433 processors by choice, Adreno 420 GPU, 3GB of RAM and 32/64GB of internal memory for both models will be located. This device also got an excellent 16-megapixel back camera with Optical Image Stabilization system, 3.7-megapixel module for Selfies and a fingerprint sensor. The body of Note 4 is a dust and waterproof and conforms to the IP67 standard, that indeed corresponds to the established tradition. The handset also comes with a new Samsung S pen.

The fourth generation of Galaxy Note will be launched globally in October, so it will go on sale in the US with Android 4.4.4 KitKat on board.  It costs $299 on-contract and $799 off-contract. The Note 4 is available on AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and certainly Verizon.

Oculus gets us deeper into virtual reality

Our common reality has been already persuaded to change by the first DK1 then DK2 and it seems that this process will not stop in the beginning of it. Oculus is preparing its new powerful VR headset, advantage of which comparing to the precursors is the ability to submerge all your senses in an overall immersion of a real virtual reality.

Built on the basis of Developer Kit 2, a new prototype Crescent Bay is a transitional stage on the way to the next generation of Rift. And this state of DK2 should prepare us to face the new generation of Rift Developer Kit 3, which will be revealed to us a bit later.

Unlike the progenitors, the Oculus DK 3 will have 360 degrees head tracking, an extended amount of positional tracking and integrated high quality headphones fastened on the frame, which makes the sound be as exciting as the visuals. RealSpace3D audio technology used comes as the combination of HRTF dimensional and complex reverb algorithms, which creates a feeling of actual presence right in your own head. Oculus also said that game engine Unity will be set in a Free and Pro versions.

It is expected that the headset will be quite light, and will not cause swelling of the neck during prolonged usage. The performance of the device will be upgraded as well to finally end up with the annoying slowdown of the graphics, which can cause slight suspension of the picture. Prototype Crescent Bay allows you to operate only in a range of about 3 feet for the moment, but hopefully it will be improved in a retail version.

Now Oculus is open to third-party development, which can become absolutely new path of development making VR platform the most stable in the future. Oculus Rift DK 3 will not be perfect, but it must be better than others. We do not know what improvements are waiting for us and when they come in force, but we hope that they will be worthy and timely.

The new Ricoh Theta M15 camera is not just a stick like camera, but a real 360 degree panoramic view shooter

Another one button trigger camera that can be simply mistaken with a key trinket in your pocket. As periscope like RE camera it needs only one button push to take a shot or pairing it with your iOS or Android phone to manipulate it remotely.

But be ready for panoramic pictures only, as the twin-lens optical system takes pictures in 360 degree range all around itself. Moreover Theta M15 can record video in 1280x720 quality, but only with a limited 3 minutes time lapse per video file. But it’s much more than the first generation Ricoh Theta, which had a possibility to shoot photos only.

The camera uses WiFi to transfer the files to your smartphone or other paired devices and also it can be connected to the official web-site of Theta and post there 6 seconds video files instantly, which can be shifted to any other social network afterwards. Also developers have given the freelancer possibility to make up some new apps for the camera in order to ease the remote control of the camera for users in future.

M15 will be available on November 14 in four different color options of white, yellow, pink and blue at a price about USD 300, which is USD 100 less than the previous version. Suppose it’s reasonable, as the market is becoming full of small cameras like GoPro Hero 4 or HTC’s RE.

Microsoft unveiled a new tablet Surface Pro 3

Microsoft released a new Surface Pro tablet. Quotha, the company proves for the third time that they can create devices not just for content consumption but also to create it.

Microsoft Surface Pro 3 has a 12-inch touch screen that will support a resolution of 2160x1440 pixels. Tablet will be equipped with an Intel Core i5 and Intel Core i7 if you want, an 4/8GB of RAM and 256GB of solid-state storage plus MicroSD card slot. Surface Pro 3 includes two 5MP cameras with ability recording video in 1080p, USB 3.0 port, Wi-Fi 802.11 and Bluetooth 4.0. On the left side of the keyboard there's a loop for the digital pen. The company claims that battery lifetime should be enough for eight hours of work.

Another notable change is the new rack and new version of the backlit keyboard cover. New tablet comes with Windows 8 and a latest versions to Word, Excel, OneNote, PowerPoint and Outlook. Thickness of novelty equals 9.1mm, weight - 800g.

Apple iPhone 6 in the launch cycle

Apple decided to go through large display in two specifications. Moreover this year the company plans to release the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus with two completely dissimilar displays.

Known that the new smartphones will receive AMOLED 4,7-inch display with a resolution of 1704x960 and 5.5-inch display with a resolution of 1920x1080 (386 ppi for the both models).

Apple iPhone 6 will receive a new quad-core 2.6GHz A8, which 17% faster than the A7. Influenced by a new iPad was extended the amount of internal memory: 32GB/64GB/128GB. The iPhone 6 with a 4.7-inch display will keep 8MP camera with improved optical image stabilization, a F1.8 aperture and a 1800mAh sport battery. Regarding the 5.5-inch model necessary to hope for 13MP camera with dual LED flash and 2500mAh battery on board.

Most likely NFC will be integrated into the Apple iPhone 6. Naturally, there will be 4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Wireless Charging and iOS 8 as its operating system.

They say that the trial production of 4,7'' iPhone 6 have already begun, but it is unlikely will be officially announced earlier than September. The iPhone 6 could cost around $100 more than Apple's 2013 models, including due to its larger screen size.

HTC Recamera should be another stunt video camera able to compete with GoPro cameras

A new competitor for the well-known GoPro cameras is coming on board with the periscope raised and ready for recording! Though this is all we’ve got for the moment, we are sure that this oddly looking camera might give a contest to GoPro, which are quite expensive.

All we can work with for the moment is a video from the official site and few leaked photos showing us the strange shape of the HTC Recamera. Watching the video we can note that the camera should be waterproof by seeing the people diving in the pool. And if we watch the video up to an end we can see that the camera can be used in the most extreme conditions or during the ordinary cycling, so it should be dust and damage resistant, just like the GoPro cameras.

What will be inside is still a mystery, but thanks to rumors, we might at least imagine that the sensor could be 16MP, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connections will be available as well, and an app was considered for remote control via separate device whether it is HTC’s Android smartphone or, for example, Apple’s iPad tablet.

Who knows, maybe it will not be as useful, steady and immune to the environment, as GoPro Hero 4, but it will certainly show everything it is capable of. What will it be, should be told on October, 8th, as shown in video, when HTC raises their action recording periscope, and we’ll get back to you with more news or at least rumors once some of them revealed.
