Mini version of Galaxy S5 will be water-resistant

Samsung's latest flagship smartphone Galaxy S5 is already on sale around the world. At the same time the company works on the miniature version of the device to go up against the HTC M8 Mini and Sony Xperia Z1 Compact at the market of mini-flagship smartphones.

As expected the Galaxy S5 Mini is not very different to what we heard earlier. It will feature a 4.5-inch display with a resolution of 1280x720 pixels (pixel density: 326ppi), 16GB of internal storage with a MicroSD slot that support the cards of up to 32GB and 1.5GB of RAM. Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini will receive a quad-core chipset 1.6GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400, 8MP rear camera and a 2MP camera in front.

Mini-flagship has got a 2100mAh battery, Google OS Android 4.4.2 KitKat with TouchWiz UI on top of it. For the New Zealand market the handset also got IP67 certification that will make the device water-resistant at least in that region. Samsung launched the mini version of their Galaxy S5.

LG is planning a new tablet

Not always necessary to be sure of the validity of all the leaks, but this rumor seems quite plausible. The first prototypes Pad G can get more innovation than any other tablet. LG unveils G2 Mini in several variations

Besides climbing LG G3, the company officially announced that G2 Mini also would be unveiled at MWC in Barcelona. New small flagship smartphone will come with the same components that G2.

LG G2 Mini will feature a 4.7-inch screen with a resolution of 960x540 pixels, a much smaller than full-size handset (the predecessor has 5.2-inch display with 1080p). The new device will come in several variations of network connectivity: Single SIM / DualSIM and 3G or 4G LTE.

G2 Mini will be powered by Qualcomm quad-core processor 1.2 GHz or Nvidia quad-core Tegra 4i (1.7GHz) accordingly. All models got a 8-megapixel camera with LED flash, 2440mAh battery, 8 GB of internal memory and slot for memory cards MicroSD and 1GB of RAM. HTC has exposed a new and not that expensive phone Desire 820 in Mini concept

It seems that making the Mini versions of smartphone flagships is a routine job nowadays. Reasonable doubt becomes truthfulness, when the same flagship specs are taken onboard the minor form factor version at a lower price.

HTC Desire 820 Mini is a glaring example of how to save money on a first date. Actually this is the same Desire 820, which we all well know since the September this year. Speaking about the flagship itself, we can simply note that a wonderful combination of different specifications and price made the device look pretty attractive to the potential buyers, therefore all the derivative products came from the original basis device look very seductive, especially, when the price gets even lower than the celebrity itself. The information about it has only flashed on the Chinese web-site of HTC, but it could be enough to become popular. Anyway the time will show, if the matter is really worth it.

New Mini version of HTC Desire 820 apparently has lost 0.5 inches of the 5.5 full-size display, adding few pixels on every lost inch to reach the FullHD, having a better resolution quality than the forefather with a resolution at 720x1280 pixels. Moreover the Mini one loses a half of the RAM keeping it at a safe distance from the flagship in order to understand why you pay less. And the processor the tiny guy will have is the Quad Core 1.2GHz, which indeed concedes to the more aggressive Octa-Core Snapdragon 615.

Small Desire 820 will have a respective small storage space with a capacity of not more than 8GB, but with a possibility to enlarge it, as always, along with the 8MP camera on the rear side and 5MP one on the front panel. The OS will be surely upgradable up to Android 5.0 Lollipop instantly after the purchase is made.

But at the very beginning you will have Android 4.4 KitKat and Sense UI interfaces pre-installed out of the box. Mini is also equipped with essential WiFi 802.11a/g/b/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and more than just essential LTE to have the 4G networks in your pocket. The price twinkled appeared to be only $230 after the currency conversion was made, which is significantly cheaper than the elder bro. We expect more details soon to give you more feedback.
