Conclave (2024) dir. Edward Berger

OOOUUUU DUDE what if Phone Dude and William actually met irl sometime (Will with illusion disc obviously). They'd recognize each other's voices and be like OHHHG!!!
Unexpected Thanksgiving Visitors (pt. 2)
Well, the pseudonym was short lived, but at least William managed to keep the fake American accent up.
phone dude design! woo! also now’s a good time to mention the books aren’t around in this universe.
i've been reading so much ironstrange it's not even funny anymore but the thing that pisses me off the most is when authors will just...ignore??? stephens disability???? ironstrange get married and somehow stephen can wear a ring without trouble????
he's literally struggling to put on a watch bro
like the accident was his whole character arc how are you even getting rid of it???
i understand that writing a disabled character as a non-disabled person can be challenging, bc you don't have the same experience but it's really all in the movies and like...google.
his disability is part of his character, it's kind of jarring to see him without one
Mike will tellthe kid once he's a little older, or once Mike has the mental capacity to explain it
Unlike Conclave (2024), Conclave (2025) was a short film.
Thomas and Vincent making eye contact as Thomas slips the fisherman’s ring into Vincent’s finger. The whole world is watching, but they only see each other.
Thomas kissing Vincent’s hand, and deliberately missing the ring, instead his lips land on Vincent’s knuckles. It feels like a promise.
While they speak of loyalty and faith, their minds are both filled with the actual promise they are making. In sickness and in health.
They both wonder if in another world, the ring would be smaller, chosen by them. They wonder how this ceremony would’ve been if the world wasn’t watching. Perhaps there is a universe where they choose each other, where the ring symbolizes more than the service they give to God.
Neither of them ever mention it. As they live a long life, side by side, the only intimacy they are granted is the lingering of lips against fingers and long looks above desks.
Thomas, who was the one to put the fisherman’s ring onto the hand of the pope, who has spent years praying that his death will fall before the pope’s, has to hold back tears as he removes it. Tears are running down his face in silent mourning when the hammer hits the golden ring. Another conclave is imminent.
