It Could Happen To You: mediocre tv show with baffling politics has really compelling characters in it
I would not have guessed Disney/Marvel would be the ones to make the show about middle aged gay witches I’ve always wanted, but here we are
"it will come back" is so unhinged.
"honey, stop feeding that poor animal. PSYCH! It's me! HOWWWWWWWLLLLLLL!"
Silco's "power" monologue scene is so much more impactful with the context of what Vander did to Silco.
In the past, Silco was strangled and held under the water so long that he almost drowned. In the present, he resides in an office situated underwater, with only a giant glass window standing between himself and the river.
In the past, Silco pulled a knife out of Vander's pocket to defend himself, but he was not strong enough to fight Vander off entirely. In the present, he pulls a knife out of Deckard's pocket, rendering him defenseless and scaring him into complying.
In the past, Silco lost his left eye in the river due to a wound that became infected. In the present, he taps the knife next to his good eye, close enough to look intimidating but not quite close enough to cause actual damage.
He's talking about the ways in which his philosophy about power was shaped by his experience with Vander, while physically demonstrating his power by taking control of situations that once made him feel powerless. God I love this show.
Having a really long-term hyperfixation that has since faded is terrifying yes but it's also so embarrassing. Hi I used to think about Scrimblo Splungus 25/7. Yeah, for 2 years straight. Nah, I don't think about them anymore except for with a vague sense of melancholy as I recall how they used to make me feel. Anyways this new one, Blimpkins McGee? I'm gonna think about them forever and the cycle will NOT repeat in 2 years. Trust me guys.
