I'm not saying you can't dislike Turning Red. I'm not saying everyone has to love it and praise it as much as me. I had my own issues with it too if you could believe that. But the reasons for why it got backlash and a super low rating are nonsense from conservative parents and plain misogyny from viewers

Historically, teenage girls have not gotten treated very well by society. Pretty much everything we like is mocked and we can't even talk about normal shit like periods without getting lashings for being inappropriate. It's a normal bodily function we deal with!

I could go WAYYYYY deeper into this topic specifically but for now. Yeah. Unfair double standards. Being too real. We can't win
