Jay Headcannons/AUs:

- Jay can’t stand certain sounds like snapping and pen clicking. It’s some sort of anxiety thing, and he’s cried about it many times.

- Jay either dresses like a cool actor or fourth grader, no in between. He’ll wear video game shirts and crocs, and mismatched colors one day, but the next he looks like a smooth playboy.

- Jay is bi. Girls are pretty, and guys are hot. Nya is his first girlfriend, but he had a boyfriend once at day camp when he was 11. Not that it counted back then.

- Jay taught himself to sing when his parents left the junkyard to run errands. Since no one was around for miles, he had no one to complain about the noise when he belted his heart out.

- Jay’s favorite color was not blue before he became the blue ninja. Wu just gave him that color and he decided to roll with it. Blue was just him now, so blue had to be his favorite color from then on.

- Jay forgets to eat sometimes. When he does remember, it’s usually junk food. He gets so enraptured in whatever project he’s working on that he needs to be reminded that he’s a living being with human needs. If he had it his way, he’d eat instant ramen and cereal every day.

- Jay was homeschooled. When he went to stay-away camp, he’d get really excited to finally make some friends. Sadly, it often ended with him never seeing them again, even when he gave them his email.

- Jay has accidentally made the power go out several times. He’ll get a sudden burst of emotion and his powers go haywire. There’s truly no way to stop or control it, no matter how much he trains.

- Jay’s eyebrow notch is a scar that came from a skateboarding accident. His dad built a huge ramp for him when his mom wasn’t home, and things just didn’t go well from there. He got that scar as well as a broken arm. He still looks back at that memory fondly. The injury was totally worth it.

- Jay pretends his TV show host era never happened. It wasn’t really a shameful part of his life or anything, but he truly felt like he hit a new low during those times. He doesn’t like to think about the genuine turmoil he was going through behind his peppy image.
