I really want to live in a small cottage with peach and apple trees growing outside, and a cozy kitchen where I can open the windows to feel the summer breeze on my face while I make jam and pies and my dogs lie on a rug nearby or out on the porch enjoying the sunshine

A few custom Pride Flag candles shipping out this week! 

The two seven colour candles were definitely difficult and ended up messier than I would like but they took me two weeks between premixing the colours to get them correct and setting the wax between each layer. I think they turned out pretty good.

Sappho and Erinna in a Garden at Mytilene. Simeon Solomon, 1864. The picture depicts Sappho embracing her fellow poet Erinna in a garden on the island of Lesbos. The artist himself was gay and known for his depictions of same-sex desire. 

The Metamorphoses Of Ovide: Iphis And Ianthe. Auguste Rhodin, 1886. The sculpture depicts a passionate embrace between two lovers and is sometimes interpreted as the girls Iphis and Ianthe. After the two fall deeply in love, Iphis prays to the goddess Isis for help and is later turned into a man in order for the two of them to get married. As it happens. 

Ruth and Naomi. Philip Hermogenes Calderon, 1886. The book of Ruth, according to some, is the great love story of the Bible and it happens to be a story about the undying love and loyality between two women. 

Jupiter in the Form of Diana Seducing Calisto (Diana and Callisto). Maurice Blot, 1800. In Book II of Metamorphosis, Ovid tells the story of how Jupiter seduces huntress Diana’s favourite nymph Callisto by taking on Diana’s appearance in order to lure her.
