@aaronginsburg so glad InStyle posted that great pic of Lexa. Too bad all y'all queer baiters killed her in the third season.
Hugely honored to be on InStyle’s fun, new list!

It is kinda exhausting and it sucks cause Clexa is like my safe place and it's always been there and so it sucks to see it hitting the fan a little but! I guess I'd prefer tea to an empty party if that's what we got for a while it's cool to see so many people sharing their thoughts too even if it's not the usual straight up Clexa. What are your favourite Clexa comfort fics?
I always loved the clexa fic: something suspiciously close to hope. It’s cute and very well written and i love clexa families
A list of words commonly used in the Writeblr community and their meaning!
I’ve gotten a lot of questions about what some things mean, so I thought it was time to compile a list of meanings.
Writeblr — A community of writers on tumblr; A blog that posts primarily about writing. See here for a more in-depth explanation. (Also written as Writblr on occasion)
WIP — Stands for Work in Progress. Primarily, it’s a piece of fictional work that is still in the writing process and is unfinished. (Also see: WIP page)
OC — Stands for Original Character. This is a character entirely of your own creation.
Tag list — A tag list is a list of users who will be tagged in every post that a Writeblr makes about a certain WIP. It is often included at the bottom of a post, and people are free to ask to be included, or removed from it.
WIP Page — A page or a post on a Writeblr that describes a WIP. Commonly includes a synopsis, setting, characters, etc. See here for what goes in a WIP page and how to make one.
Tag games — Tumblr games where people will do something (often answer questions, a snippet of their WIP, etc) and ask other users to participate by using the @ function in that post.
Ask games — A tumblr game where a user will request people to send them things with the ask function. Often times will include a list of questions they wish to be asked.
Fanfiction — Fiction written by a fan about an existing TV show, movie, book, etc. Often features the characters, the setting, etc. of that piece of media.
AU — Stands for Alternate Universe. AUs typically feature the same cast of characters of a WIP or an existing piece of fiction with a major change or two. (For example, a Fantasy AU would involve placing the characters in a fantasy setting. There also may be an AU of what might happen if a certain character didn’t die in their story).
Canon — Material or information that is accepted as an official part of a story. (i.e., the creator confirms it and includes it in their story).
Headcanons — Ideas and interpretations of a fictional work that is accepted by a fan, but isn’t necessarily supported by canon.
Moodboard — A collection of images meant to evoke a certain feeling or emotion. Often used by Writeblrs for their WIPs and OCs.
Have a word you’d like to see included? Let me know and I’ll add it!

Q42: What’s an an old idea that you’ve discarded?
A42: Ooh so many! I was going to make the main character the owner of a company that was bought out. After the “merger” she realizes her *life’s work* is being used for corporate greed and subsequently gets booted out of the company. Not unrealistic but has been done before. I won’t be using it in my current wip.

Q45: Write five keywords that describe each of your WIPs
current original wip: grey, magnetic field, bioengineering, gluttony, charm
current clexa wip: horses, artificial intelligence, flashbacks, red, scorpion
Where’s Metallica when you need them?
There’s a protest going on against AI art over on artstation, so I feel like now is the time for me to make a statement on this issue!
I wholeheartedly support the ongoing protest against AI art. Why? Because my artwork is included in the datasets used to train these image generators without my consent. I get zero compensation for the use of my art, even though these image generators cost money to use, and are a commercial product.
Musicians are not being treated the same way. Stability has a music generator that only uses royalty free music in their dataset. Their words: “Because diffusion models are prone to memorization and overfitting, releasing a model trained on copyrighted data could potentially result in legal issues.” Why is the work of visual artists being treated differently?
Many have compared image generators to human artists seeking out inspiration. Those two are not the same. My art is literally being fed into these generators through the datasets, and spat back out of a program that has no inherent sense of what is respectful to artists. As long as my art is literally integrated into the system used to create the images, it is commercial use of my art without my consent.
Until there is an ethically sourced database that compensates artists for the use of their images, I am against AI art. I also think platforms should do everything they can to prevent scraping of their content for these databases.
Artists, speak out against this predatory practice! Our art should not be exploited without our consent, and we deserve to be compensated when our art is exploited for commercial use.

Q22: What’s your favorite trope you’re not writing and why?
A22: Best friends to lovers. In my wip, the protagonist is pansexual whereas her bff is a gay man who comes out during the story. I want to show a healthy(ish) friendship between a man and a woman without sexual tension or romantic undertones.
Day 8: favourite trope to read or write and is there a difference in reading or writing that trope.
Hmmm … a very good question! I recently read the Phedre trilogy by Jacqueline Carey. After reading the first book, Kushiel’s Dart, my life and writing has been rendered transformed. The books are written in first person and the detail of the world building and the twists in the plot are exquisite. Reading this trilogy has pushed me to reconsider the roller coaster plot structure and approach my current wip into something more interesting. Hopefully I can be at least a quarter as successful as Carey. If you have not read her stories, I highly recommend them.
In the trilogy, the tropes of “enemies to lovers” and “lovers to enemies” is explored. It is so beautifully done! In my current wip, I’m working on lovers to enemies for my main character. A character who is also a flawed hero with a heart of gold.
Wish me luck!
Okay kru, Clexaweek2019 officially begins tomorrow so here’s a refresher on the Clexaweek basics!
THEMES: Monday 02/25 - Useless Lesbian Tuesday 02/26 - No Strings Attached Wednesday 02/27 - Only One Bed Thursday 02/28 - Nipples Friday 03/01 - Tinder AU & Nerd/Popular Trope Saturday 03/02 - Enemies to Lovers Sunday 03/03 - Free Day
Use the tags #Clexaweek2019, #Day (_), and #(prompt). Make sure you put those first three tags in first because as we all know, tags and searching can be finicky. Feel free to use whatever other tags you want (#Clexa, #Clexa fic, #Clexa fanart, what have you), but just make sure to definitely list those three at the beginning. You can submit a link to me here, either directly to the work or to your tumblr post, and I will reblog it. If you post on ao3, add the work to the collection Clexaweek2019.
Please remember to leave a comment on a fic you read. Even something as simple as “ajfkdsajlfdk;sa” is very much appreciated. Kudos are nice, but comments are the real validation. Please, please, please leave a comment! Please remember to reblog and not just like posts on Tumblr. When people make art and moodboards etc, reblogging is how the post is spread and showed to more people. And feel free to comment on those too (and creators love stalking the tags to see what people say as well!). Letting a creator know what’s awesome about their work is what encourages them to continue creating, so please keep that in mind! We all support each other here! That being said, usually every year there’s at least one troll who posts a stupid (and terribly written) fic on purpose to try to get attention. If that happens, IGNORE it. Don’t give it hits, don’t comment on it, nothing. Report it if the tags are incorrect, but otherwise ao3 can’t do much, so don’t give the troll any attention. Our fandom is so big and awesome that new works will flood the tag anyway so yeah, just let those terrible works fade into obscurity.
At the end of Clexaweek, I will make a masterlist of all the content created. My fandom wife @clexabookmarks also makes lists of the new fics. If you notice we’ve missed a work just let us know! It can be so chaotic running this while working full time so it’s easy for some works to slip through the cracks. Just hit us up and we’ll add it in!
If you have any questions about Clexaweek, ask here. If you want me to give you some prompts, you can hit up my ask box or you can peruse my tagged list of Clexa prompts. If you would like to view previous Clexaweek Events, they can be found here: Clexaweek2017, Clexaweek2018. There are also Clexaweek collections on ao3.
HAVE FUN! :D Can’t wait to see what you all come up with! I’ve missed you all, kru. Welcome home.
A23: Yes, when Lexa died on “The 100″, I absolutely thought I could write something better. Fortunately, others felt the same way and created the fanfics to go with their better ideas!
