i've seen people on tiktok and twitter getting mad that people are siding with joel for citing that 1. the fireflies have no feasible means to create and distribute an actual working vaccine 2. their entire medical and research methods are so full of holes

some people act like they're much better fans of tlou because they discuss the more nuanced aspects of joel's decision and why it can be argued that what he did was wrong.

like, based on facts, them lying by omission was already unethical by medical professional standards. what was joel supposed to do? submit a report to the american medical association and pause the operation to wait for their judgement? the man is outnumbered and his kid is already hooked up on an operating table. you think the fireflies would let joel waltz in the operating room, ask the doctor and nurses and fireflies to wait for ellie to wake up, and then ask for her consent? when in fact they were already so hostile to joel as soon as he woke up?

joel was right. and i can make this post longer by arguing that he also believed lying to ellie was the best course of action. he's lied to her before about everyone loving contractors. hell, ellie tells joel in episode 3 he should have lied to her so she would not be enticed to check out the mass grave. she tells joel in episode 6 that he could just have lied about how the dam works and she would have believed him. but i fucking digress.

poking holes at the material conditions of the fireflies along with their medical malpractice is not a bad argument to use to justify joel's actions. get off your high discourse horse and fight me.

I know when it comes to posting about euphoria I focus on fez and lexi ( bc they're the only storyline I gaf about which is sad bc I loved season 1 sm ) but can I just have a "little" discussion ( rant ) about jules.

This girl did not just cry on the fucking floor when she falsely suspected something might ( I emphasis might ) be going on between rue and elliot and go off every 2 minutes saying "I don't like him🥺" and "he wants to fuck you" when rue would consistently be saying they're just friends ( ik rue was lying to her about the drugs but that wasn't what jules was accusing her of ) and then

GO OFF AND MAKEOUT WITH HIM WITH NO REMORSE 3 TIMES WHILE RUE WAS STILL IN THE HOUSE

I'm stunned by that.. genuinely stunned like

I blame elliot just as much as jules but that's a whole other rant.

And this isn't the first time she's pulled this shit. She did the same thing in the first season but we all let that slide ( myself included ) bc her and rue weren't technically together or anything but that doesn't change the fact that talking about having sex with someone to a person you know full well is in love with you is fucked.

I did not like jules in season one she consistently made dumb ass decisions ( ik all the characters in the show do but that still doesn't make it okay yk ) and she played with rues feelings ( rue was also toxic to jules for putting her sobriety and shit on her but doesn't make what jules was doing any better)

So ya didn't fuck with her whatsoever in season one

Then the special episode came out and I then started feeling bad and realised she actually loved rue. So then I started to actually like her tbh.

And I understood and to an extent agreed with everyone defending her up until episode 4. There are no excuses now and I'm not hearing any of ye out LMFAO.

I was so fucking happy when rue got pissed at her in the car I stg

I know in this show there isn't villains/ hero's.

There are teenagers who do good things and bad things. That's it. It's like bojack horseman in that way.

That doesn't justify what jules is doing and doesn't mean people should be going to lengths to defend this girl when she doesn't deserve it.

Silco is one of my Favourite character in arcane but ya no he is definitely a villain and I don't defend his actions what I will say though ( because people are always going on about these things )

Silco loved Jinx. It is confirmed and its also like.. obvious.

him defending her from sevika and ( according to sevika ) his entire crew who don't like her and can clearly see she'll be his downfall.

his reaction when he sees she is Hurt. *sobs*

the way he literally gets EVERYTHING HE HAS EVERY WANTED ON A SILVER FUCKING PLATTER and gives it all up because he didn't want to live without her *sobs harder*

Jinx KILLS him and his finally words are calling her perfect. ( he literally is dying. He knows that. There would be no point in lying to her. )

But he was not a good father. Even though I honestly think he believes the things he tells her and isn't actively trying to manipulate her. These are the two quotes that stand out.

eg) everyone betrays us

in fairness everyone he loved HAD betrayed him and from what jinx TELLS him, Vi betrayed her. ( ik Vi didn't actually betray her and it isn't her fault whatsoever. She was a child like ?!?. But it's what jinx believes and its what she TELLS him )

Eg) jinx is perfect

Jinx ( my other favourite character ) is by no means perfect. She's clearly insane and she's a full blown murderer. She is not perfect but she is to SILCO. ( again he is not right for thinking this way but he is clearly not mentally well either ) Silco isn't lying when he says this. He honestly thinks she's perfect.

( We also only see Silco lie to Jinx once. When he tells her Vi is only after the crystal. And that is done because he doesn't want to loose her because he loves her. A shitty thing to do. But nonetheless. )

Silcos goals are understandable. The way he goes about achieving them is not. Wanting the undercity to be free from Piltover is 100% justifiable. Piltover is extremely corrupt and like.. the worst. Its literally like the hunger games. Its just that going out on a murder spree isn't the way to achieve that yk.

( Also I can understand why silco murders vander but still... debatable. )

So ya in conclusion,

Silco is a VILLAIN.

Most of the shit he does is morally evil

However there are some things that people think about him that are just simply not true. I have alot more points but I'm tired.
