Magic Has Always Been A Second Thought, The Swell Of It Coming To Her Aid Without Hesitation Or Thought.

Magic has always been a second thought, the swell of it coming to her aid without hesitation or thought. Rarely has she used as extensively as she does in battle, and rarely has she been left with nothing but the dredges of it after a spell. But the Titan is no ordinary spell, and her magic is not limitless. The thought tastes bitter as she feels Tamlen's death and falls. There is no enough to gather the dredges to stop her descent before Inan catches her, and Robin does not even try, trusting her warder to accomplish his duty. As they descent unto the roof, Robin eyes their surroundings thoughtfully and notes the direction the other Chancellors fell. She will have to rejoin them sooner rather than later. "Exhausted, but that will not stop me," she admits with a thankful nod as she stands and stretches for the first time in days. "My thanks for the rescue, my dashing knight. But do drop the title, it's altogether too stuffy and I have never been one for pomp."

Magic Has Always Been A Second Thought, The Swell Of It Coming To Her Aid Without Hesitation Or Thought.

Everyone connected to Tamlen felt the sudden severance of his life. Sharp and swift. Time was all but an illusion to the fey, they'd been at it for days, but moments later the Titan began to glow, then broke apart as the chancellors were scattered. The well of magic he'd had access to gone, Inan still had his own, and even without it that would not have stopped him from coming to Robin's aid. She fell and the warder lept to catch her before he landed with the soft footfalls on the opposite rooftop, the chancellor in his arms. Around them the city was in flames, the streets were a butchery, and the sky was an obsidian night. Cloudless. Starless. There was just the drow above them. Inan set her down on her feet, "Are you alright my lady?"

"Is it a mimosa if it does not have orange juice or merely another cocktail?" She muses, expression airy and friendly as she walks closer next to the Winter Chancellor and snaking her hands around her arm, squeezing the muscle there reassuringly as she keeps to the other's pace. It is the other's season, even as their duties and domains of influence have changed, and she is more than willing to bend to Aurora's whims if it means she forgets her duties for one afternoon. It's what the other deserves, after all the heartache said duties had place upon her shoulders. "That, I can do. In exchange, would you indulge me in some gossiping?"

"Is It A Mimosa If It Does Not Have Orange Juice Or Merely Another Cocktail?" She Muses, Expression Airy

"Well, there's bound to be seasonal mimosas over there," Aurora offered, mustering a smile over. She wanted to be in a great mood despite things lingering below the surface. There was a lot to be thankful and happy about but a couple things still sobered Aurora joy, namely the deaths of her mother and Titania as well as her Warder's unrest. But in favor of the Solstice and all that was going well, the Lunar Chancellor visibly made an effort not to let anything weigh on her.

"Saturnalia Market it is. I think it's important to see what else the world has managed to invent with peppermint flavor... as long as we avoid politics for one night." It was an odd and uncharacteristic request from the business-orientated Chancellor. But if Aurora focused on the lovely celebrations she figured her mood would lift more and more.

Meryasek glanced at the other now, “I think that’d be more beneficial than me getting you caught up. Do you really not pay attention to the happenings when you’re away?” A lot had happened in a short amount of time, granted, but it also wasn’t his job to police that. He’d missed Robin’s humor and friendship, “How many more deer now?” He finished off his drink, now on to his next. “Thirsty?”

...

Meryasek:

“In my defense, I did get bitten and nearly stabbed in the Otherworld, and I was supposed to be taking a vacation after I got my doctorates,” perhaps she should feel the slightest hints of shame, but well, she had known she would be rather busy with her plans for the Eye as soon as she finished vacation. Before that, she had wanted some time to wander around and have fun without consequences. “Three more,” she admits reluctantly, with a sheepish smile before reaching out and swiping Mery’s new drink and taking a sip. “Very much so, my thanks for the drink, dear.”

"I Am Sure Dareth Has Done A Wonderful Job," Robin Confirms, Quietly Sidestepping The Affirmation That

"I am sure Dareth has done a wonderful job," Robin confirms, quietly sidestepping the affirmation that it would be the bsxt thing that did happen to the court. With the Laurelin above and underneath them, she cannot fully agree with his comment. Still, she can very well see why he would think so, after the long struggle he had to gain his man, as it where. "And I will ensure that I call him by his correct title, do not worry," she agrees easily, a hint of mischief on her eyes as she considers how to address the future King Consort. As much as she admired the fey'ri, as much as she loved him as King, he had burned his crown, and that meant that no longer would she consider him one of her betters, out of respect for his sacrifice. "Are you feeling nervous? It's only twenty-four hours until the wedding, after all."

“Winter Solstice. It Will Be The Greatest Thing To Happen In All Of The Courts.” Dareth Would Make

“Winter Solstice. It will be the greatest thing to happen in all of the courts.” Dareth would make sure of it. And if he didn’t, well, then Meryasek would have to throw a fit of epic daemonic proportions, and no one wanted that. “Everyone will bow to the new Chancellor, the new King of Daemons. Make sure you call him that, I think he'll pass out if he doesn't hear it. This day is his big moment.” He grinned now, especially because he knew Dareth had always wanted a title. Despite the crown being burned, Meryasek still knew of himself as better – he just didn’t show it as much as his lover did, perhaps.

"Autumn is quite alluring, is it not?" Robin replies with a delight as she takes her time taking in the drow's appearance. There is no denying that he quite suits his clothes, his mask adding a particular allure to the entire ensemble. Bringing her class of champagne to her lips, she drinks slowly while maintaining eye contact, a grin decorating her lips as she brings the glass down. She can't quite remember why she should be avoiding drows, not when easy flirtations are fun. "Although, I have to say that is not quite as alluring as the tall, dark, and handsome."

"You know, I was a spring fey back in my last life," Severon said, sparking up a conversation with the gorgeous looking woman in garb that screamed autumn. It reminded him of Yavie. And the more he thought of it, the more strange it seemed that he was speaking to any fey that wasn't that little noble but there he was. He couldn't seem to remember why he shouldn't be speaking to her. Severon had always been a fan of flirtation. "But I've got to say, I'm acquiring an affinity for autumn."

"I have heard of you," Robin offers kindly, head tilting on the direction of the newcomer and away from the swamp slowly consuming one of it's sacrifices. A foolish demon that had bothered her as she explored the Otherworld, and one that would not bother her people again. "How curious, that we have seen an uptick on arrivals, now that we have settled on this realm. How fruitful too." The more new arrivals, the less attention Zahrya would put on her theoretical future children. Specially because she is pretty sure this one fit the description of 'breedable' that Zahrya so desired for his hoard of broodmothers. Maybe she should mention him at the tail end of the next chancellor's meeting, actually. "A pleasure, Din'an. Be welcomed to my court. As long as you abide by our laws, you will always have a seat on my table."

The mortal realm reeked of what should be beneath him, of what should have been culled long ago in favor of those with more worth. Humans; they were such vile little creatures, and yet, served quite the purpose when Din'an could not feast upon better morsels. If he wished to find a place within the mortal realm, then he would need to abide by its rules. For now. Which had been precisely the notion when he approached the chancellor, pleasant enough smile upon his lips, "I thought it would be wise to come introduce myself. So that we may get to know each other." Or so that he could avoid suspicion should some of the elves recount any stories of a creature so like themselves, but that which responded as a vampire. "I am Din'an."

Who? @sabinabrutus

Fire is an element that comes to Robin as easy as breathing, an intricate diamond blade set aflame manifesting on her hand as soon as the danger makes itself known. She had sensed the strange magic as soon as it had swept upon Rome, heard the words of the Pythia and felt the dread swept over her as her clairvoyance hit her with the all consuming emotion. Then chaos falls upon the once melodious party and she sets asides her worries to examine later, fire sweeping around her as she hums, the smell of Autumn following her as blistering flames consume Terrors and protect the living. She will not allow harm to befell to anyone, not if she can help it. Eladrin might be her priority, but she would never allow the fate of a Terror befell an innocent soul.

“Down, mortal,” she orders the pretty woman before she sweeps her blade above her and decapitates an unsuspecting Terror.

"Nothing more than what you have already willingly given: an introduction and the pleasure of your company," Robin says with a snort, bringing the goblet on her hand to her lips and taking a deep sip from her spiked cider, eyes calm as she takes in the god before her, wondering how he would take her response. "I will not deny that your help would be a boon, but I did not call you here to ask for it. It is not my place to demand for it, particularly not when you are on a vacation at this point in time."

She is not idiotic enough to demand help from a god, specially not the god before her, known for his neutrality. That would be both an insult to her intelligence and one to his character, to believe something as simple as an invitation would convince him to change his mind on an stance that he had kept for far longer she has been alive.

"In reality, I am rather curious about you, now that I have been accepted by the Holt and experienced entropy by myself," she admits with a shrug and take s a deep breath.

"Nothing More Than What You Have Already Willingly Given: An Introduction And The Pleasure Of Your Company,"

Next year, that would have been funny if it weren't so sad. Undoubtedly the chancellor's heart was in the right place, but if he had to ask for an invitation then clearly he wasn't welcome. No, no, he'd already made up his mind: these fey still hated him even after everything that he had done. His family never invited him to reunions either back in the day, not a feast or a single celebration. There was something to be said about not leaving the door open for Death. "Noble creatures," Thanatos said in short after Robin was done licking his boot, cat sidhe were quite particular, they chose nine people to follow before joining them in eterna. So brave, though nobody ever really owned them.

"I'm never summoned for pleasantries," Thanatos admitted, his candour still stifling and unchanged, "you're respectful, I'll give you that, much more than the rest of the inhabitants of Rome. My patience runs deep, but it does have an end; I can only assume that you want something from me." He took a bite of the biscuit he'd been lovingly fixing, delicious, though his features were stilled just the same. Washed down with some mead, beer was more to his taste but he didn't expect the chancellor to know that.

"Good," Robin purrs, content on the confirmation. Another piece falling into piece, another siren to lure the unwitting sailor down to the depths. A hard job for the wolf before her perhaps, but one that must be done. She, herself, already has second thoughts about the whole matter, but war demands sacrifice, and her desire to destroy the Eye and get revenge for her brother had not diminished through the years. Instead, it had grown stronger, the rage too powerful to be contained the longer it goes unaddressed. "It will be my pleasure to work with you, Miss Titus. I will be keeping in touch, but if you are ever in need of my services, do not hesitate to find me in the Autumn's Field."

“Splendid. I will work on this misdirection on my part too, but please do be subtle. Wade might not be the sharpest tool in the box but he is not an idiot either.” At least not most of the time, and she cannot risk such a fruitful connection into the Eye to be alerted that he is being used. The hunter had made his bed and then believed a mere apology would be enough to brush it all aside when he would never forgive the creature that had destroyed his family. “He has to believe that he has been forgiven, so that he doesn’t suspect anything we do. For that, if you currently have a good relationship with him, you might need to maintain it. Can you do that? Can you lie to him?”

It’s an intimating question as they carried on their affair under a cover of oblivion until the obvious couldn’t be ignored any longer and it fell apart from there. Love had never been involved but it had been a connection of some sort of intimacy and Flora had always been a compassionate, empathetic person so to look someone in the eyes that she cared for and to lead them into the jaws of a trap was a dangerous game but she was with the wolves and the war wouldn’t go away quietly. She had to do horrible things in order to survive and protect her pack. “I’ll do it, whatever it takes. I won’t allow my pack to be snuffed out and to live in metal cages for the rest of their days. It’s for the greater good.”

He understands after hearing Robin’s words why so many of the fey struggled to accept his viewpoints on their lessers. They probably thought like her, drawing distinctions between insignificant lifeforms. There were allies and special considerations, dangers and risks. How burdensome it must be to place more stock in those beneath them. If only they could see them as Zahrya had for nearly a thousand years, nothing more than puddles of viscera between Asterion’s jaws. The lessons his warder taught him still rang true today: mortals would only ever be violent creatures, and sometimes the only answer to their violence was violence of your own. “The blessed children can have a chance to return to us, but those who don’t take our side deserve their fate. We’ve been at war since before I was born, it’s due time we bring it to a close.” What more was there to say? Clearly he was the only Chancellor who understood loyalty. He made a vow to Titania and he would enact her will even if he had to go about it alone. He was done with these games of politics and passivity. He was a force of nature, now more than ever. If he’d acted on his own sooner, then surely many of the cruel fates the eladrin faced recently would’ve been avoided. “I will not be defined by cowardice. If you are content being afraid of your inferiors, then I will let you rot like the leaves in autumn. Destroying the Eye, destroying the Asphodel, destroying the realm, it’s all the same. We should only worry about protecting those who stand with us. I have no love to spare for those who’d do us harm, either through action or inaction.”

@thegoodfellow

...

Zahryaofspring:

“Do tell me more about this war of yours, this war that Titania did not acknowledge, this war that you seem so sure we are fighting when few others are,” she insists in an attempt to understand the man’s motivations, voice soft as she tilts her head to observe the Spring Chancellor with consideration. “Perhaps it is my age, but I had the understanding that the Eye did not become a more overt threat until recently, and that the only war the fey truly worried about for as long as you have been alive was the inevitable fight against the drows?” The Spring Chancellor had always fascinated her, the oddness of his actions clear even when compared to other’s his age. Fen’harel, Laer, Revas, her parents, they all comported themselves rather differently than the Chancellor before her, and while she understands that she is in dire need to begin separating herself from her own affections towards humanity, she is always surprised at Zahrya’s rancor for the species Titania helped create as he worships the former Queen. “You call it cowardice, but you are wrong, Chancellor,” she offers, words firm. “Destruction is not a domain usually associated to Spring, thus you must fail to understand that not being wary of your enemies will bring your downfall. It’s those who are not wary of the storm that are struck by lightning, and overconfidence is dangerous when dealing with the creature’s whose creation Titania blessed.”
