Who? @yaviefey Where? The Last Bean Notes: They Are Getting Some Pumpkin Spice Lattes <3

"I must thank you for your presence at the festivities," Robin nods at the former Autumn Fey as she approaches the table he has taken for himself. She had heard of the change, the Council of Elders whispering legends of Astral elf and what it meant for Yavie the change, but she had not believed them until her eyes had fallen upon him on the festivities and she had not found the call of Autumn on him. It is a loss keenly felt, but not as much as that of Farenduil, for Yavie remains untouched by mortality in the same Farenduil has been infected. "I had assumed that you would take the opportunity that make a proper clean break, and truly, I would not have blamed you for it."

Unlike so many, Robin had been lucky. Fen'harel had never attempted to sink their claws on her, her apparent foolishness and lack of presence within the Autumn Court as she traveled through the Otherworld keeping her out of the realm of influence of the Dread Wolf. Many of the others had not the luck, and she did not blame the resentment that had festered on them, seeded by the traitors hand.

"Do tell, was it to your liking?"

Benevolence is in Zahrya’s nature, but even now he can’t tell if Robin’s hesitation is something to be cherished or shot down. He can’t see beyond the bounds of his vow. “I will show them no mercy,” he declares with an intensity that’s out of place given the tone of their chat, but he softens once again. “It’s not just the season, it’s you. These fields are only possible because this bounty is what your heart reflects. Charity is wonderful, but at some point we have to turn our gaze to ourselves.” As he strums, Zahrya thinks of the old days before humans became so plentiful, the days his kind thrived while he grew in the Labyrinth. They’d been shared with him and therefore he was able to idealize the era. Perhaps Robin could benefit from such stories. “There was once a time when no mortal king could accomplish anything without the influence of an eladrin. They worshipped us and in turn, we built their civilizations. Art, music, and magic, all gifts from us, but that has been forgotten. We are no longer bound by the senate and can once again expose our divinity to the masses, but we’re beyond the point where we could do such things without purpose. Testing the denizens of the mortal realm with the intention of subjugation would be the only way such an idea could work.”

...

Zahryaofspring:

“It’s a lesson I am beginning to learn, yes, but despite my growing lack of compassion towards most of humanity,” Robin says slowly, spitting out the word compassion as if it had rotten in her mouth, the resentment from recent events on her shoulders weighting her down but not to fully cloud her senses. “I cannot say that showing them no mercy is the solution, not when many of them are our allies. When many of them have laid with fey, or given birth to faiman children. Do the children do not deserve our mercy?” It’s a quick inquiry, and Robin wonders. Wonders where Zahrya would have fallen on the news of her brother’s exile to be with his human and his children, wonders if he considers those children worthy. “There is no denying that we are beyond humanity’s comprehension, that without us they would never have become what they now are. However, I must warn you Zahrya, humans have long desired to kill their gods, and the Eye has made that desire a reality. If you test them too harshly, too quickly, you will turn the same people who erased Alstroemeria from existence towards us, and we cannot fight a war in two fronts with our current strength. If we want to destroy the Eye, we must do it carefully, and only after can we be bolder.”

Title: The Hunt Continues When: Post The Tinkerer Where: Rome, Audelë, More Trigger Warnings: Usual

title: the hunt continues when: post the tinkerer where: rome, Audelë, more trigger warnings: usual stuff

Agony.

Tamlen’s death had been painful, the drainage that followed a rip on their plan. But Tamlen had come back to them against all odds, and the relief had been overwhelming.

Inan hadn’t.

His death feels like being unraveled, like losing a part of herself that she assumed would always be there. The second heartbeat behind her chest is gone, the thread of devotion and steely determination rotting away as death came to take her warder’s hand. Somewhere, a drow is being born. In Rome, Robin’s warder dies, an unfinished melody, a hunt cut short.

She hadn’t even been able to convince him to call her by her name.

Lain’s death had hurt, the growing care she had felt for the lycan, a sharp stab to her chest, but she had not loved the wolf. Not quite, not yet, and now never for he is gone, and she knows that even if Death was the one to collect what was due, she had played a part in that game. It is a tragedy, a story unfinished.

It was not love.

Inan was her warder, she had welcomed him in and invited him into her soul. Loving him was not unlike loving a part of herself. She had kept that emotion at bay, well aware that she had done nothing to earn anything from him but his loyalty, suppressing it to prevent any more awkwardness between the two. Inan’s story with Fen’harel is well known, and she would not push through his boundaries after that betrayal.

Would not have.

But in the end, it did not matter.

Her warder is dead, decay spreading through Rome as Thanatos collects his due, and all Robin can do within the Titan is sink her thoughts with her fellow Chancellors and fall upon the song of destruction they are weaving until they cannot do so any longer.

The Titan falls, and with the fall, their end is marked.

There is no opportunity to fight, no magic to summon, no song capable of stopping the Great Old Ones as they fall upon them like predators upon their prey.

The next fifteen years are spent in the ground, all thought lost beneath the agony of the song of decay and rot, of the end and the beginning.

The darkness is a familiar call, the pain an old comfort, akin to the ritual that had seen her confirmed into her role as Fall Chancellor. A legacy of the Dusk Elves that they once were, the ritual recalled costumes of old, and it is now the only reason Robin does not lose her mind to the slow movement of rot, slowly spreading through her body but keeping her alive to keep their nutrients. It’s a song of fungi, beautiful on its ugliness, on its destruction. She doesn’t lose herself to it, doesn’t break down and lose hope, but it comes close. Were it not for the familiarity of the torture, she might have.

She doesn’t.

She awakens to the astral bombs falling and to freedom that tastes as sickly sweet as the rot that had settled on the back of her throat over the last decade. There is no hesitation when she joins the other Chancellors into a song and they come together to become the Titan once more.

For one last time in this timeline.

Robin dies in the battlefield, only to awaken in a Rome that has not yet been Forsaken.

The battle is set aside, more pressing matters coming into the forefront as they find themselves changed. The Chancellors’ retreat, the war pushed back and with it their destruction of Rome, far more important things to do than to deal with the mortals that destroyed them and saved them alike. The world changed one more time, and Robin changed with it, working with the four other chancellors to create Audelë, a new home, alike the Courts that sheltered them for so long, but something new altogether in the same breath.  As the dust settles, she finds Inan, brings him forth into a hug despite his arguments against it and laughs before letting go, polite distance that he is so fond of falling upon the two once more.

Peace fell upon their kind once more, a deal with the dark elves set in place. And the Courts? The Courts protected once more.

It’s not enough.

It will never be enough, but her people deserve the rest. Dusk has fallen upon them, and with it comes a new world they need to learn for themselves. Ignoring it all in reckless rage would be foolish, and the tricksters that hide in the shade are anything but that.

They will wait, they will watch, and they will be ready.

The hunt is eternal, and so are they.

Lamentably, mortal alcohol remained lacking in comparison to their spirits, but even she would not be cruel enough to spike the punch with some of the newly brewed fungi concoctions while some relatively decent mortals were present. Instead, she finds herself hanging from a chandelier absentmindedly as she people watches and occasionally sends flicker of magic to cause people to trip and embarrass themselves in front of those they are trying to impress, of spilling their drinks and so on as she sips from the brew. When Yavie all bust manifests next to her, she sends him an affectionate grin as she offers him the bottle as her eyes flicker up to the blinking stars abroad, eyes wide in delight at the sight before turning down to look at the star wistfully. "I think you might have elevated the entire tree with your choice. Next time, though, do invite me to the negotiation please. I would love to watch."

@thegoodfellow location: Christmas Rave, Hakan's Castle notes: treat from sailor moon to the rotted queen

Not one to come to a party empty handed, Yavie had arrived to the castle when the music was reaching its peak. It was a very festive time of year and the elf had managed to pull himself away from the stars for long enough to attend. As he entered the air about the flashing, neon lights seemed to twinkle with an infinite array of blinking stars. "What do you think?" Yavie asked as he produced a crystalline star, within the Astral creature had borrowed some of the essence of polaris to illuminate the festivities and the long nights that followed. "Stars aren't easy to negotiate with but once I explained to her that it was for Christmas she was very receptive. I'm going to put it at the top of the tree."

Who?@wintersaurora Where? The Hall Of Mirrors

"I have to ask, do you want your human friend to die? Because that is how they fucking die, my friend," she tells Aurora, pointing towards the sheet ghost wandering around the party and getting dangerous close to what she thinks is a rather angry-looking revenant, who also happens to be rather close to the stairs that lead up to the vampire orgy/eating room. "I thought you liked humans? It seems rather cruel to bring someone who knows shit all about the supernatural into a party that is the metaphorical equivalent wolf's den. Tell me that you gave him protection charms at least, I will have to be disappointed on your treatment of humans otherwise."

"Would You Believe If I Say That My Current Courage Is Thanks To Your Actions?" Robin Coos Almost Playfully,

"Would you believe if I say that my current courage is thanks to your actions?" Robin coos almost playfully, eyes cold and death as she faces the human she had once trusted and taught but had done nothing but betray her since the moment they met. There is no denying that she had been a naive fool, far too fascinated with humanity to see the vipers hidden beneath the shape forged by Prometheus to look just like them. The once perfect vessel to the gods, reduced to cockroaches at Eden's fall. They could not kill them all, but there was no need to. As enterprising and creative as humanity could be, their deaths were as easy as plucking one heart string and watch their entire circulatory system collapse as a result. Perhaps there was good amidst their kind, but Wade had always been a hypocrite, willing to put the blinders on and ignore reality just to adhere to his stubbornly idiotic viewpoints. Perhaps humanity as a whole was rotten, and there were individuals that were good, but no matter how many delusions Wade filled his head with, the truth was simple: he had long since lost the right to call himself a good man. All that was left of the young man she had once helped trained had suffered a slow suffocating death since he reached Rome, and died as his knife sunk on her side. "I must thank you really, if weren't for your betrayal, I wouldn't have gotten the idea of my Autumn Boon. Did you not like it? I made it specially for you, so that you knew what it felt to have a dear friend stab you in the back."

Who? @wadecalhoun Where? Killjoy's Notes: Doing The Randomize Top Songs Thing And Got I Shot Cupid By

"Oh, dear. Are you alright, Wade?" Robin wonders mockingly as she sits next to him at Killjoy's bar and sends him a faux concerned looked as she takes him in slowly. There is something different about the human, danger blaring on her sense as she sits next to him, but she does not knot it comes from her boldness at entering a hunter friendly establishment or something more. Regardless, she has paid precautions, having mentioned of her desire to purview the establishment to one of the vampire marshals and Davheira, and with the new laws, she doubts any hunter would risk to attack her all too openly. And if they choose to do it in the dark? She will be ready and grinning, knowing they took the bait. " You look a little yeasty, as if you had just battled a fungal infection."

Who? @senatusstarters Where? Hall Of Mirrors

"I do wonder if they are going to check the entire palace after the party," she hums thoughtfully as she eyes the mirrors and their magic signatures with great interest. She gives herself half an hour more, at most, before she gives in and begins jump into the mirrors to snoop around the palace with an excuse. When will she have the same excuse to explore? No one shall judge her if she admits she got lost after walking into a magic mirror. "An awful lot of poor unassuming souls might end up trapped in places they weren't meant to be if they don't."

"I suppose you are right, and yet, I had to try," she muses, a rueful twist to her lips that is quickly wiped away as she laughs softly and gives her companion a quick nod. Subtly, she gestures to the walls. Where Yavie's twinkling stars ended, her luminescent fungi began. They snaked up the walls, weaving up the walls and mixing in the decorations as they pulsed in rhytmn with the music. "Aside from my delightful presence? And my own to cents to the decor? If you go to the drinks table, there is one punch that is my special brew. I have had to spell it to stop most from drinking it, though, it came out quite strong," she admits with a Cheshire grin as she brings her flask to her lips and takes a long sip. "I considered adding some spores to spice up the circumstances, in Zahrya's honor, but I did not know if he is preparing something similar for spring."

"I Suppose You Are Right, And Yet, I Had To Try," She Muses, A Rueful Twist To Her Lips That Is Quickly

She wasn't wrong, it certainly shone brighter than anything else here, more interesting here. He'd saved enough to line some of his attire with it as well, Yavie didn't want to be mistaken for the other creatures here, not that he could. "You? In the Astral?" Yavie smiled at that, "That wouldn't be a good idea." It wasn't a place to be taken lightly, though he could appreciate her curiosity, somehow Yavie imagined that the two of them would have a great deal of fun together. "Did you bring anything to the party?" The trickster was the Queen of her games, even though her season had waned he had high hopes for her.

She Wasn't Wrong, It Certainly Shone Brighter Than Anything Else Here, More Interesting Here. He'd Saved

“Of course you do. It ain’t that difficult if you’ve known him for a long time.” Rawlins did not know Assan that well and Robin did. It was just that simple. He often didn’t try to understand people though. Every time he spoke to anyone, it was against his own will. It wasn’t a common thing for him to initiate conversation because he just didn’t want to talk to people ninety percent of the time. If he did, he probably really liked that person. Nevertheless, it wasn’t that he disliked the tiefling. It was just that he was completely confused by the need to talk in ingredients all the damn time. Thank goodness Robin was there or they would be completely lost. “Right. Well, I’m sure we’ll succeed if he doesn’t throw a curveball at us.” He paused. “How did you two meet anyway?”

...

Rawlinsbriggs:

“Perhaps you merely need to try harder?“ Robin asks innocently, even as she throws the cambion a wink of amusement to acknowledge the fact that he had been correct on his guess. It’s not a secret that she and Assan had known each other for years at this point, although she does find some amusement at the fact that he is far older than her and yet the two of them had found their way to Robin Hood’s little group of crusaders. “Let’s just hope that, yes,” she admits with a nod before grinning. “I do believe that if I tell you, you wouldn’t believe me. Or you would think I am exaggerating, as it is a Disney worthy.”

"Well that is concerning," she admits as her brows furrows when hearing about Nirvaan's current predicament. There is no doubt that Aurora will want to hear about that, the way she holds her warder dear. Biting her lip thoughtfully as she narrows her eyes, Robin nods to herself as she glances to Inan. "I shall find Laer, I might be running dry magic-wise but I have improved my physical combat skills. Please go to Aurora and tell her about Nirvaan," she says, then hesitates, before continuing, deciding that it is not the time to push. If Inan wants to hide behind his formalities, he shall have them fully. "Good Hunting, Warder Inan. Dar'eth Shiral."

"Well That Is Concerning," She Admits As Her Brows Furrows When Hearing About Nirvaan's Current Predicament.

Familiarity had bloomed between himself and Fen'Harel once, Inan wasn't interested in venturing down that path again. Not yet, anways. "Nirvaan was in the forest fighting a drow when everyone fell apart, I saw a demon catch the Spring chancellor, Laer and Aurora I think are there-" Inan pointed, "and there." He thought it was pertinent that Aurora should know her warder was in danger but he kept this notion to himself, Inan was faithful and loyal, he'd do what the chancellor asked of him. He just wasn't' going to start using her first name now. "I'll find them both and then return to you, my lady."
