"Excellent performance, sweetheart," Robin offers as she tugs at the chain wrapped around Lain's neck, pulling him towards an alcove she had scouted before the play had begun. Once they are hidden from view, she reaches up an places a hand on the back of Lain's neck, pulling him down for a quick kiss before pulling away and sending him a mischievous grin. "Reminds me of William's first production of Hamlet, full of enthusiasm and passion for the craft. Definitively something worth rewarding."

"And it is a tragedy it did not become a more regular occurrence," Robin said with an exaggerated sigh as her wings flutter and disappear, the flickering multicolor fungi passing as freckles retreating until they are gone, and with it the tips of her ears. Her outfit melts away, the fungi upon her dress shifting into a long sweater that reads Merry Gothmas you filthy animal. Then she continues walking, ignoring the suspicion hinting on her expression. She is smart to be wary, but that will not stop the upcoming prodding, not when she is far too curious about the topic at hand. "Althought, perhaps I can be convinced to change my mind to visit the Saturnalia Market instead."

"And It Is A Tragedy It Did Not Become A More Regular Occurrence," Robin Said With An Exaggerated Sigh

"... Mimosas and sweets," Aurora mused, briefly glancing towards the Dusk Chancellor who had appeared at her side. The elf's incredibly long dark hair shortened with her ears; her clothing went from a regal elven gown to casual human clothing. Even winter's cold touch was repressed as they both passed the border together out of the Fey Forest. "I think the last time we did that we were barely 100 years old." There was something almost amused in her expression but it was a lot more quizzical and even a bit suspicious.

Who? @wadecalhoun

A contemplative mood falls upon the small table she has gotten for herself on the corner of the coffee shop, a cup of tea settled in front of her as she ponders at the window. It’s not her court that worries her now, not the Senate nor the drows. Not even the Eye, despite the task she had been assigned by the other chancellors. Instead, she is reminiscing, allowing herself to feel the grief that had clogged on her chest after the period of mourning. The change from a carefree livestyle to taking up the responsibilities of Chancellor had been drastic, allowing her little to no time to grieve those departed. Robin is not crying, not quite, but those who know her will notice the slight shine of her eyes as she looks at the window, the unusual somber air that follows her.

She is reaching towards her cup when someone slides on the chair in front of her, bringing her back from her contemplation as she raises her eyes and presents one of her favorite mortals with the facsimile of a smile.

“What do I owe the pleasure?”

notes: the feeling when you see a previous lover on the street but apparently he lost his magic???

Who? @vincenzodives

Her first clue that something has changed drastically is when she doesn’t sense him. As a witch, and one she is more than acquainted with, Vinny’s presence should have pinged on her metaphorical radar.  It doesn’t. Instead, she realizes his presence in Rome by coincidence. After her recent appointment to Chancellorship, she had taken to slipping away to Rome whenever her work was done. The responsibilities are new, and while not fully overwhelming, they are a lot for someone who had never believed she would inherit them. The Autumn nobles might have elected her, but everyone had expected Fen’harel to last for another few millennia at the least. The realization of their betrayal had been shocking beyond compare, and had shaken the very foundations of what she had known of her court. As such, Robin takes her free time to wander around Rome and ponder over the changes, over the reality and the truth, trying to see all angles, to understand them.

It’s a tad different this time, as she had gone out of her way to visit the gelato shop in order to get something sweet while she thinks. Robin’s choice had been a whim, set forth by her clairvoyance and taken in the last second. To find one of her previous lovers, and a good friend, on the shop is a pleasant surprise. To realize that he had seemingly lost his magic, is not. She hadn’t even realized his presence within the shop until she had turned around to leave, catching a glimpse of him sitting on the corner. The breath had been stolen from her lungs as the realization hit, and she had nearly spilled her gelato on the hurry to get to his table.

“I would say this is a pleasant surprise, sunshine,” she tells him, sending him a warm smile before her expression turns worried once more. “But I cannot sense your magic, which concerns me. Are you alright? Can I help?”

"Good," Robin purrs, content on the confirmation. Another piece falling into piece, another siren to lure the unwitting sailor down to the depths. A hard job for the wolf before her perhaps, but one that must be done. She, herself, already has second thoughts about the whole matter, but war demands sacrifice, and her desire to destroy the Eye and get revenge for her brother had not diminished through the years. Instead, it had grown stronger, the rage too powerful to be contained the longer it goes unaddressed. "It will be my pleasure to work with you, Miss Titus. I will be keeping in touch, but if you are ever in need of my services, do not hesitate to find me in the Autumn's Field."

“Splendid. I will work on this misdirection on my part too, but please do be subtle. Wade might not be the sharpest tool in the box but he is not an idiot either.” At least not most of the time, and she cannot risk such a fruitful connection into the Eye to be alerted that he is being used. The hunter had made his bed and then believed a mere apology would be enough to brush it all aside when he would never forgive the creature that had destroyed his family. “He has to believe that he has been forgiven, so that he doesn’t suspect anything we do. For that, if you currently have a good relationship with him, you might need to maintain it. Can you do that? Can you lie to him?”

It’s an intimating question as they carried on their affair under a cover of oblivion until the obvious couldn’t be ignored any longer and it fell apart from there. Love had never been involved but it had been a connection of some sort of intimacy and Flora had always been a compassionate, empathetic person so to look someone in the eyes that she cared for and to lead them into the jaws of a trap was a dangerous game but she was with the wolves and the war wouldn’t go away quietly. She had to do horrible things in order to survive and protect her pack. “I’ll do it, whatever it takes. I won’t allow my pack to be snuffed out and to live in metal cages for the rest of their days. It’s for the greater good.”

Wade would love nothing more than to diffuse the situation with some ill-mannered joke but her life had lain within the balance and it was with such a precarious situation he was grimly, strangely, quiet. The Archer always would rather have some rebuttal as ammunition when all odds were pointed against him, it wasn’t typical that he was ever reticent and his jaw clenches at the reminder of Robin’s pain and how he was some willing passerby as the violence endured. “I… didn’t stab you,” it falls forward gauchely in protest at her venomous vitriol, a pathetic defense in lieu of all Robin had overcome since the hunter’s reckless accompaniment to the other hunters. “You told me to go!” It was the cowards way out, but it had been a path she’d offered to him in what Wade had, sickeningly, believed to be her final moment. His head bowed, scowling at how everything snowballed so out of proportion, “I didn’t plan for any of that to happen. M’not their leader, they got out of control.” He’s fairly shit at this whole apology thing and a hand rakes through his hair as he tries to regain control of his word vomit, “I wouldn’t leave you to die, Robin. You were in the hands of your own people, your home. You told me to go, I believed you’d had the situation under control,” bleeding out on the grassy floor of the woods; unlikely, but she’d given him the grace to escape and now up heaved the guilt onto him.

....

Wadecalhoun:

“No, you just watched as your friends ignored my warnings and stabbed me when I was trying to deescalate the situation. Truly, Calhoun, do you not kill demons for being guilty by association to the demon that destroyed your family? Is it not within my rights to deem you guilty by associating with a group that hunts, captures and experiments on supernaturals?” She wonders if he is willfully blind to his own faults or if he is aware of them but has chosen the path of hypocrisy rather than honesty. “I told you to go, because despite knowing you don’t give a flying fuck about me, I still cared, but that doesn’t mean I don’t blame you for it.” Cared, as in past. Cared, as in no longer. She doubts the poor little human will realize, but the conversation is only serving to solidify her desire to destroy him in such a manner there is nothing left but scraps. “Does that make you feel better? Avoiding the blame? They could not have entered the forest without your help, they would not have stabbed me if you had interjected. The changelings might have ended them, but it was your choice that killed them, your choice that almost killed me. If my King had not answered, I would be gone, and yet you stand before me and try to excuse yourself instead of apologize?” Another bitter laugh escapes her as she shakes her head. “You called me a friend, but the more you speak the more I realize you must have been lying.”

who? @wintersaurora @zahryaofspring @chancellorxlaer where? rome when? after the power rangers depowered notes: not a four way dw, it's just a general open for the three of you

"There you are," a sigh of relief leaves her lips as she reaches her fellow Chancellor. Inan had given her an overview of the situation, but their plan has been set and they require the Titan's strength to continue. Tamlen's death is a tragedy, and she worries they won't be able to continue without him, worries that Thanatos cancelling death will not apply to their kind and they have lost yet another one individual. But she cannot think like that, not when every minute is essential and she has to find the other Chancellors in order to determine if they can proceed as planned or adjust. "Do you know where the others fell?"

He understands after hearing Robin’s words why so many of the fey struggled to accept his viewpoints on their lessers. They probably thought like her, drawing distinctions between insignificant lifeforms. There were allies and special considerations, dangers and risks. How burdensome it must be to place more stock in those beneath them. If only they could see them as Zahrya had for nearly a thousand years, nothing more than puddles of viscera between Asterion’s jaws. The lessons his warder taught him still rang true today: mortals would only ever be violent creatures, and sometimes the only answer to their violence was violence of your own. “The blessed children can have a chance to return to us, but those who don’t take our side deserve their fate. We’ve been at war since before I was born, it’s due time we bring it to a close.” What more was there to say? Clearly he was the only Chancellor who understood loyalty. He made a vow to Titania and he would enact her will even if he had to go about it alone. He was done with these games of politics and passivity. He was a force of nature, now more than ever. If he’d acted on his own sooner, then surely many of the cruel fates the eladrin faced recently would’ve been avoided. “I will not be defined by cowardice. If you are content being afraid of your inferiors, then I will let you rot like the leaves in autumn. Destroying the Eye, destroying the Asphodel, destroying the realm, it’s all the same. We should only worry about protecting those who stand with us. I have no love to spare for those who’d do us harm, either through action or inaction.”

@thegoodfellow

Zahryaofspring:

“Do tell me more about this war of yours, this war that Titania did not acknowledge, this war that you seem so sure we are fighting when few others are,” she insists in an attempt to understand the man’s motivations, voice soft as she tilts her head to observe the Spring Chancellor with consideration. “Perhaps it is my age, but I had the understanding that the Eye did not become a more overt threat until recently, and that the only war the fey truly worried about for as long as you have been alive was the inevitable fight against the drows?” The Spring Chancellor had always fascinated her, the oddness of his actions clear even when compared to other’s his age. Fen’harel, Laer, Revas, her parents, they all comported themselves rather differently than the Chancellor before her, and while she understands that she is in dire need to begin separating herself from her own affections towards humanity, she is always surprised at Zahrya’s rancor for the species Titania helped create as he worships the former Queen. “You call it cowardice, but you are wrong, Chancellor,” she offers, words firm. “Destruction is not a domain usually associated to Spring, thus you must fail to understand that not being wary of your enemies will bring your downfall. It’s those who are not wary of the storm that are struck by lightning, and overconfidence is dangerous when dealing with the creature’s whose creation Titania blessed.”

Who? @assanx

“Please tell me the next session is to take place, I truly need the amusement,” Robin pleads playfully as she falls into step next to Assan, shoulders not quite tense as her eyes keep flickering around, trying to find members of the Eye amidst the crowd as they walk. With Assan by her side, she feels her shoulders relax, knowing he will have her back, but the paranoia still remains if lessened. There is truly too much happening in Rome with the Eye and the Asphodel and the Drows in the Otherworld, and she desperately needs some time to relax with her best friend. “We left it to such a cliffhanger too, and I am at the edge of my seat.”

A key portion of the lycans have begun to act oddly, and her concern for her very own wolf has increased every time she has encountered yet another bloodthirsty member of the Lupo pack. The math had been simple, that of equating those who had been filled with bloodlust with those who had been given Zahrya's forsaken blood fruit. Unfortunately, that did mean that Lain is likely to be affected, as she had counted him amidst the number when the blood fruits had been offered. Her fears are manifested when she runs into her wolf, her rotted ones just beyond reach dealing with a wave of bothersome drows. As she sees the lycan that she had begun to like begin shifting, the Autumn Chancellor feels unbearably tired, knowing this encounter would only end one way.

Running would be a mistake, with her magic half-drained and her desire to keep it for extreme dangers only, so she doesn't, falling instead upon the training she had gone through at Rainer's hand and attempting to evade the running lycan's attack.

She is not entirely lucky, a long swipe cutting through the flesh of her arm, but it is enough for her to get out of the way and reach for her blades. Falling into position, she allows her eyes to flicker to the side and she relaxes as she sees her changeling approaching. They are far enough that she is still in danger, but she is sure she can manage for another few minutes.

"Lain, listen to me," she asks, voice calm and level as she looks into eyes she can no longer recognize. "Listen, please. Don't make me do something I cannot take back."

A Key Portion Of The Lycans Have Begun To Act Oddly, And Her Concern For Her Very Own Wolf Has Increased

for: @thegoodfellow

Where: Ruins of Rome

Time: Day 9, before she gets back in the fey megazord

Notes: the drug addicted dog came back but he bites now :(

Thanks to the power of the bloodfruit, for the first time since Lain had been bitten, he felt like a proper lycan and not just some sorry excuse for one. He had never tasted raw power until now, his wolf form doubling in size and tenacity. But like every other good thing in Lain’s life, it did not last. How could he have known that the magic imbued fruit that he had consumed a week ago could be so easily manipulated by the Drow?  The corruption coursed through his veins, constricting his mind and bending it to their dark will.  Fate was cruel.  Of all the eladrin that would cross his path at this time, of course the person standing before him had to be Robin.  One of a select few that it would absolutely destroy him to hurt.

“Robin,” He breathed out, his skeleton already snapping and shifting.  “I can’t make it stop,” his voice was a deep, distorted growl.  Another violent shudder passing through his body, bluish-grey fur sprouting on exposed skin. The changeling heart he had come to rely on so heavily was malfunctioning, the unstable lycan no longer had that crutch to lean on. There was no stopping this, the transformation was inevitable. “Run!” When his new body fell into place, he charged. He leapt at the fall chancellor, blood stained claws slashing at flesh.  When the two of them had been entwined, Lain had always hid this side of himself. But now against his will, his true nature was on full display. There was no coming back from this, he feared.
