But the specific community she’s discussing are the halfbloods. Granted, most of them probably wouldn’t want nothing to do with her after the transition, however Èdelie still stands proud as formerly being one. She adores their relatively small bond. What she didn’t like while being a halfblood is the constant confusion as to what to do and what not to do, or who she’s allowed to discuss her abilities with. There was no embracement; all that she’s known was self-taught or incorporated after the rarity of meeting one or two halfbloods throughout her lifetime. While thankful an obvious change is occurring, it shouldn’t take now for others to realize the detrimental harm embedded in past mistreatment of halfbloods. “I’m glad you’re able to acknowledge inclusivity is needed. It would’ve meant a lot to me had I still been one of them.” She doesn’t want anyone to think her fight for halfbloods equates to dissatisfaction as a fey, either. Losing former weapons such as sharing the tongue of animals may have been unfortunate, but taking the time to not only relearn that but the realm of feys has been treasurable. Èdelie doesn’t take of this for granted, using her free handle to fiddle with chocolate locks as her chewing slowed.

“I mean, hey,” Èdelie began to advise, serene at this point. “It doesn’t hurt to try. There’ll be no issue if clear communication is put in tact; age doesn’t really affect the matter at hand.” If halfbloods choose not to mingle with feys tonight, needless to say… Èdelie wouldn’t be surprised nor fault them considering the lengthy hassle to gain representation.

“Darling, I have a PhD in Governance from an American university. Equity and inclusion might not be a part of the curriculum exactly, but I wasn’t discouraged from taking the classes or doing my own research, I have seen the data.” And what data. The studies had not accounted for supernatural differences, of course, but it was a rather fascinating thought exercise to extrapolate from one to the other. Of course, she couldn’t make a one by one comparison, and there is many psychological differences based around immortality and the like, but there is no denying that diversity of thought lead to innovation. Romulus, the Tinkerer, many others embodied this realization, and supported her conclusions. Now, if only prejudices could be overcome. Sadly pettiness is rather common both amongst her kind and other species. Perhaps something to do with having so much power on their hands. Who knew? “It is kind of you to still think of halfblooded even now, not many else would have done it if they were in your place.”

“And try I will to talk to the halfblooded, I can promise that much,” she finally relents with a nod. She can do that much, after so many years away from the walls of Rome. “And to talk to those who are older, and yet, I cannot quite agree with you. Many of the older generation are rather adamantly against mortals and halfblooded alike.”

Rumors are a currency, both inside and outside the Eye. Rumors she had heard, regarding Aurora, Farenduil and a pair of faiman twins. Nothing concrete, but enough to pique her curiosity. Enough for it to rise without her permission, enough for her to be interested.  The rumors involved two of her dearest friends, after all, and she had always been one desperate to know more in hopes of using everything she has to protect those she cares. That is what draws her to the blonde faiman when she sees her, that and the tug of her gut urging her to go on.

“Perhaps,” she says with a nod, choosing for a direct approach rather than subtlety. “I am a friend of Farenduil and I only wanted to confirm if you were his child.”

The bar was fully loaded though she got a weird look when she asked for something without any blood in it. Considering the crowd, Emma imagined that was an uncommon request tonight. Still, tequila made its way towards her and the faiman tipped it to her lips and emptied it down. Aware only when it was gone that someone was hovering, Emma looked towards the eladrin and cocked a brow, “Can I help you with something?”

"Good," Robin purrs, content on the confirmation. Another piece falling into piece, another siren to lure the unwitting sailor down to the depths. A hard job for the wolf before her perhaps, but one that must be done. She, herself, already has second thoughts about the whole matter, but war demands sacrifice, and her desire to destroy the Eye and get revenge for her brother had not diminished through the years. Instead, it had grown stronger, the rage too powerful to be contained the longer it goes unaddressed. "It will be my pleasure to work with you, Miss Titus. I will be keeping in touch, but if you are ever in need of my services, do not hesitate to find me in the Autumn's Field."

“Splendid. I will work on this misdirection on my part too, but please do be subtle. Wade might not be the sharpest tool in the box but he is not an idiot either.” At least not most of the time, and she cannot risk such a fruitful connection into the Eye to be alerted that he is being used. The hunter had made his bed and then believed a mere apology would be enough to brush it all aside when he would never forgive the creature that had destroyed his family. “He has to believe that he has been forgiven, so that he doesn’t suspect anything we do. For that, if you currently have a good relationship with him, you might need to maintain it. Can you do that? Can you lie to him?”

It’s an intimating question as they carried on their affair under a cover of oblivion until the obvious couldn’t be ignored any longer and it fell apart from there. Love had never been involved but it had been a connection of some sort of intimacy and Flora had always been a compassionate, empathetic person so to look someone in the eyes that she cared for and to lead them into the jaws of a trap was a dangerous game but she was with the wolves and the war wouldn’t go away quietly. She had to do horrible things in order to survive and protect her pack. “I’ll do it, whatever it takes. I won’t allow my pack to be snuffed out and to live in metal cages for the rest of their days. It’s for the greater good.”

"Once Again, Congratulations On Your Children," Robin Says Kindly, The Words Pushed Out Of Her Lips To

"Once again, congratulations on your children," Robin says kindly, the words pushed out of her lips to prevent a quip of her own regarding how the title of Lifebringer could be given to plenty of other high elves as well. Her parents, Laer, multiple members of her court. As much as Zahrya wanted to believe himself special for having children, he is far from it. But as long as his delusions benefited her court, she would keep mum, after all, aside from his weird fixation on reproduction, he was rather pleasant to be around. "If that it's to be so, I must thank you for your determination."

✿*° ‘° ・

"I've acquired many titles in my time. 'Lifebringer' is just the latest, though I will uphold it as I would any other. Procreation is the foundation for all life in nature." On the childrearing front, Zahrya had more success than any of the elves which was within expectation but couldn't remain the norm. Helping his fertility to seep into the crevices of every court was his calling, and he would answer it. "Prayer has nothing to do with it. My blessings have always been boundless. All will have the children they deserve by the time my work is complete."

The fey were clairvoyant, knowing who to trust and how was all but woven into their nature, still, it was not impossible for them to be deceived. Deception, however, was typically their game. Laer knew, he’d employed it countless times before. Robin looked like a frail and broken thing, hollowed eyes and worry laced her words, it was… Uncomfortable. She was a chancellor now, strength was what her people needed more than anything - what all the fey needed. One weak link reflected poorly on all of them, if there was something he could do to dispel this worry then he would do it.

“Our judgement isn’t infallible.” Laer offered, “What did this betrayal really cost you?” The chancellor asked in an attempt to ascertain the depth and breadth of her relationship with the individual who betrayed them. Fey, as it happened, were especially skilled when it came to vengeance. The magic that bloomed within them was enough to blanket this city, this forest was a focal point and anyone with intuition could feel how Zahrya had embedded it with the very nature of their being. Blood magic that Laer had affectionately steered him towards, after all, it wasn’t without its uses.

image

...

“A gut wound, an iron-made scar and a great deal of the empathy I set aside for humanity,” Robin admits, a near sardonic smile on her lips as she speaks. She is more than aware of her own predilection for humans, knows that her young age had given her a kinder perspective of them as she had not experience the same violence towards their kind that the older generations had. She knows that all things considered, she had been more understanding of humanity than many other eladrin, knows despite the new jaded certainty sitting on her chest, she is likely to remind kinder still. It’s her better nature, but as any eladrin that is not the only thing that she is. “I had a project of sorts, a human that hunted demons for revenge for what they did to his family, and I saw myself on him in a way. That blinded me to his cowardice and lack of principles.”

The truth is simple, at the end of the day. Robin had seen herself on Wade, desperate to avenge the lost of a loved one, and because of that, had been willing to help him. Willing to love him as a friend, because she had trusted him as one trusts those they believe they understand, those they believe to be alike them. What Robin had failed to see was that Wade lacked the strength of character to be anything but a lamb. Well, if that if he was so very willing to betray her for puny convictions, she would need not hesitate any longer. He is a lamb, and one she would gladly lead to a slaughter

“The good news is that now I have a stronger link leading back to the Eye, and little compunctions on exploiting it,” she offers, slowly. It still weights on her, the care she held for Wade, but her people always came first, and now that the little archer is a threat, she will spare him from her anger no longer.

Who? @meryasek Where? Laurelin, Audulë  Notes: Doing The Randomize Top Songs Thing And Got Raise Hell

"How is the wedding planning going?" She asks as she settles next to the fey'ri in one of the Laurelin's branches, offering a cluster of juicy grapes as she uses her magic to occasionally pop some of her own cluster into her mouth as she keeps her gaze wandering around the Laurelin branches and beyond, into the glimpses of the courts that they can catch through the leaves. "Did you set a date?"

“That’s your problem Robin. You draw lines and make distinctions that don’t matter. Humans, drow, the Eye, the Senate, it’s all a waste. They envy us all the same, they bleed all the same. When pounded beneath the heavy fists of a changeling, all those who would do us harm are nothing but runny puddles of mess. The war we fight is on our very divinity. Anyone who would have us live less than our truths or gifts is our enemy. The notion that we must play by rules created by inferiors is an affront to what we are. Spring wasn’t my only teacher, I had innumerable vile mortals seek me out as an innocent child just to do me harm. And though he never spoke Asterion taught me more about who I am than anyone else. Apparently, you still fail to grasp who you are.” How any eladrin could learn who they were without a changeling to guide them was beyond Zahrya, but that’s where he stood completely apart from his people. They didn’t know so they didn’t understand. The younger generation confused him as much as they saddened him. None had the vast fields and endless skies of the Labyrinth to express themselves freely. They were repressed and lost, so much so that when given a directive from Titania herself they dared to question the faith she placed in him. Absolutely pathetic. “My domain is whatever my sovereign demands. Her Majesty said we were to have no mercy for this realm. If that is something you’re too weak to bring to fruition, then that is your deficiency. I served the Queen for longer than you’ve drawn breath. I know who I am. Whether or not someone is prepared for the storm doesn’t matter, because a storm rips apart weak strongholds as easily as it decimates fortified structures. At least mine do, because I was born to be powerful. I’ll weep for the future of your court if inaction is all you have to offer them.”

...

Zahryaofspring:

“Because life has meaning Zahrya!” Robin finally snaps, the hum of magic turning the air sweltering around them as she raises her chin to glare at the Spring Chancellor from where she sits on the ground. “Life has meaning, and so does it’s ending and ignoring this because you were isolated of the world it’s not the solution. Your lack of empathy and worthless sense of superiority is going to get us all killed if you keep underestimating those who act against us, and you can’t see it. It only takes one mistake for a fey to die, and many of our enemies known how to do just that. Your reckless ignorance of how the world works outside of your Court is shameful, ignorant and will bite you in the fucking ass if you keep going this way. “ There is a noise of frustration as she raises from her sitting position, flames flickering on her fingertips before she clenches her first and takes a deep breath. “I am well aware that I am young and I have not been train in my position, but I know who am I. I know that the whole cannot be judged by the actions of the few, because if they were we would be just like the exile that has joined hands with Asphodel. We would be just like Fen’harel, traitorous and willing to overthrow our rules for power. But we are not, and that alone shows me that you know nothing of people, that the only reason you received your role is because you are powerful but witless. The storm might destroy the fortress and it’s inhabitants, but by numbers alone there will always be more to replace them, more waiting on the shadows to strike when we grow tired. For fucks’ sake, think things strategically for once in your life,“ She hisses out, a ran running over her face as she speaks. She is committing a mistake, she is aware, but she has grown tired of being condescended merely for having a different set of ideals than Zahrya. There is no denying that eladrins are inherently superiors, no denying that they have every advantage. And yet, countless have fallen at the hands of the Eye, countless have been hunted by vampires, witches and humans alike. “If it were power alone that granted us safety, we would not have lost the Otherworld, and my Court would be without dangers because despite what your ignorance has led you to believe, old witless fool, I am powerful and I am acting. I am just not stupid enough to put a target in my back.”

This second chance at life was not what Vincenzo had wanted. It was honestly the last thing he had thought would happen upon his death. When August had brought him back, he could only wonder why. Why had his friend deemed it necessary to bring him back when he couldn’t even accomplish what he had wanted to do in the first place. The witch had made sure of that when he told him about Vivianne. The oracle that had been his enemy without her even knowing about it. Now she was safe due to her half-brother. What a coincidence he wished was not the case. But it was too late for things to change now. Well, it had been since they were born. It was a sad and annoying coincidence. And August had brought him back because Vinny was his friend. So now what did he do? Well, he was going to stick to letting it go for now. Until he changed his mind, that was.

Robin didn’t know any of that though. It had been a bit of time for them and Vinny couldn’t quite figure out how to explain the situation in a way where it wasn’t as pathetic as it sounded. Thankfully, as her hands rested on his shoulders and her forehead against his, he didn’t have to think about it. For right now at least. One hand lifted to her face just as hers had to his. Then his eyes closed, any shallow breath he had evening out for a moment. “Thank you. You’re…I’m glad you’re here.” He leaned away after the words left his mouth and let out a sigh. “I feel lost. Like I don’t know what to do anymore.”

...

Vincenzodives:

For a moment, her eyes flutter close as she takes in Vinny’s presence. The memories of their first meeting flit through her head as she takes a deep breath to ground herself. The new information had surprised her, shaken her despite her attempts to show otherwise. The sensation of his hand cradling her face is what she needs to fortify her, a moment that reminded her of simpler times, of a time where she had no responsibilities but the ones she gave herself. For a moment, the weight on her shoulders lightens as she basks on his presence, but like everything, that moment soon fades and she opens her eyes as Vinny leans away, hands falling from his shoulders and into the table to cradle her gelato basket.

“Now that I am aware of your stay in Rome, I wouldn’t be anywhere else,” she admits. She will help him, despite being already overwhelmed by the work on her courts. There is just too much history between the two of them and she cares for him too greatly not to help.  Perhaps it’s been years since they last met, but that does not diminish the care, not when that time had been a blink for her, not when he is sitting in front of her.  “Unfortunately, I cannot give you the answers you seek, but I can offer my support in whatever you decide. Do you have a place to stay?”

“I don’t even know what really happens in most of our sessions, Robin. Assan talks in fucking riddles.” If there was one thing Rawlins was absolutely confused about, it was his like for playing Dungeons & Dragons. The coffee was a nice gift from one of his few companions though. Black coffee just the way he preferred it. She was right though. There was a bit of a cliffhanger and he was very curious about what would happen next. “I don’t think I have any potions at all so it’s probably best that you use those when it’s really necessary. I’m not trying to die now because you used it at the wrong moment.”

...

Rawlinsbriggs:

“Funny, I understand him perfectly,” she comments with amusement, not bothering to mention the true length of her acquaintance with the tiefling.Time and patience had built a foundation that allows her to understand her best friend better than most. Taking a sip of her drink, she takes her time to ponder Rawlins comment and agrees with a decisive nod. “I do believe I have the capability for one or two more healing spells too, but I would have to check. But you are correct, waiting for the right time is likely best.”
