Rowena’s Anti-Anxiety Incense

Rowena’s Anti-Anxiety Incense

Personally, this is one of my favourite spells, simply because it is both incredibly simple and incredibly effective. This loose incense can be burned for rituals or used as a carried remedy for everyday fears and worries.

What you will need: • 1 part jasmine (fresh, dried or resin, which I’ve used in the photos above) • 1 part dried sage • 1 pinch of sea salt • 2 candles, preferably white • a blessed or charged bowl and grinder • a lighter or matches • 2 small glass jars • a spoon or funnel • some dried wood pieces

Optional: • 2 charged gemstones of your choice (for this I’ve chosen garnet) • An essential oil of your choice (I recommend lavender or peppermint)

Directions: 1. Prep your bowl with a quick rinse and dry to remove any dust or impurities

2. Light your candles and set your gemstones in place around your bowl.

3. Prep the ingredients - Crumble your sage and jasmine, measure out your salt

4. Add sage, jasmine and salt to your bowl.

5. Grind your ingredients together. Make sure you are focusing your energies onto your goal. Maintain a calm state of mind and state your desires aloud if you can.

6. When you feel your ingredients are sufficiently ground, take the bowl between your hands, close your eyes and ground yourself. This is the most important part of the process. Keep your mind focused upon what you would like to achieve with this incense. If you’re preparing it for a love one, think of what you would like them to get from your gift. When you feel as though you have your desires in mind, take three slow breaths. On each exhale imagine yourself pushing energy from your third eye into the incense itself. Once you have finished charging your incense you may open your eyes.

7. Using your spoon/funnel, fill each jar about half full with your new incense and cork them firmly. Make sure to leave a little bit of incense in the bowl for the closing of the ritual.

8. Arrange the wood pieces in along with the remainder of your incense. Light the wood aflame and allow it to burn while you recite any closing remarks.

9. Extinguish the flame with some water and blow out your candles. You’re finished!

Charm Making 101

Making your own charm is as easy as baking a cake, with no baking.

First let’s explore what makes a charm a charm.

charm [CHärm] n.

a collection of materials placed into a color specific bag used to send and receive specific vibrations from the universe. A satellite dish if you will. Carrying these little bundles of magic with you everywhere you go is one of the easiest ways to communicate your wants and needs with the universe.

Step One: Figuring out your intentions

Every charm has a specific intent behind it. Without one, it’s just a bag of rocks and dirt. Figure out what you need the most in your life right now. This could be anything from romantic love to quick cash to even inner peace

Step Two: Understanding the skeleton

What in the world do skeletons have to do with charms? Well, the skeleton of a charm is essentially the building blocks you need. All of the really powerful charms I have made have come equipped with a leafy green, a flower, a base, a bag, and a mineral.

Leafy Green.

Charm Making 101

The leafy green is a plant material. This can be dried herbs or simple green foliage from a specific plant that gives off good vibrations through its leaves.

The Flower.

Charm Making 101

The flower is there to work with the other leafy green and encompass a specific property all in one bundle.

The Mineral

Charm Making 101

The mineral is there to push out the signal. Incorporating crystals and rocks add an antenna to your satellite dish.

The Bag.

Charm Making 101

The bag is a little string draw satchel that is a specific color depending on what your intentions are (green for money, pink for love, etc). Every little satchel is just a method for energy to be carried around. The longer you are with it, the more energy and intention you put into it.

The Base.

Charm Making 101

Now last but not least is the base. This is something that can absorb any negative energy but can also add a little substance to your charm bag. The base is tricky but very versatile. A majority of the time rice is a really good base but things like garden or graveyard dirt can be used.

Step Three: Research

I’ve found the easiest way to accomplish this step it to work backwards. Instead of looking for a specific material that you need for a charm, figure out what the materials you have already do and see if they apply. You’d be surprised how versatile a lot of materials are. A lot of good resources can be found on the internet if you look up “(Material name)’s magical properties”. Just those three words can give you a solid amount of websites to read. On top of that, you can check out the WiccanInk page. If you’re not on mobile, there are links at the top labeled “Herbs”, “Color Magic”, and “Stones” (conveniently hyperlinked here for you as well).

Step Four: Cleansing and charging

This is arguably one of the most important steps in this process. You can have the best material combination in the world but if your crystal isn’t charged, then it isn’t going to work. Take the time to purify and charge all materials before adding them to any magic work, let alone charm work. Here are some good cleansing methods and the best way to charge any item it to leave it out in the sun for a full day.

Step Five: Putting it all together

At this stage you have gathered all your materials, cleansed everything, and charged it with your intent. You can now add the ingredients to the bag. The order I like to use is base, mineral, leafy green, then flower. You can do it anyway you like but I’ve found that this method just looks prettier. When you are adding all the ingredients be sure to visualize yourself succeeding in whatever part of your life you want to improve. Do this work in front of your altar and away from the rest of the world. Find a quiet spot in your head so you can really focus on your life needs.

Take your time. Work with your charm. After a little bit you will be able to feel the energy it is giving off and you will realize every charm has it’s own personality. At the end, tie three knots in the cord to tie up the bag and with each knot think about what you already have. For example if you’re working on a charm to improve your wealth, think about three instances where you are wealthy enough. Thank the universe for the instances and understand that you can still receive more.

Following these steps will hopefully lead you to successful charm work. Take your time and remember everything needs practice.

Blessed Be

-Alerisa

Healing blessings/ spells / prayers

I am in desperate need of some healing in my right shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand. All the moving and cleaning that we have done has left me bruised, internally and externally, and with me not being able to lift my arm very far.

We still have plenty to do and I am sick of being made to feel guilty due to my pain. I am the unemployed one, so I’m doing most of the work alone / with a 3 yr old in tow.

I beg of you all, please hold me in your prayers, or spells, or whatever you specialize in. I’d also appreciate spells that I could perform myself if anyone has them to offer.

Thank you in advance. ❤❤

Magickal Uses for Strawberries

Planetary Association: Venus

Gender: Feminine

Element: Water

Deity Association: Freya

Magickal Uses: Attracts success, good fortune, and favorable circumstances. Served as a love food. Leaves are carried for luck. Pregnant women carry a packet of the leaves to ease the pain of pregnancy and childbirth.

Sweet, red strawberries are often used in spells for innocent love, friendship and happiness; as well as bringing out the sweetness in a person or situation. On the other hand, the luscious strawberry is a well known aphrodisiac, and can be used to stimulate deeply passionate, and sensual love relationships. As with all magick, the outcome is set by the intention. Used (sparingly) to draw fortunate circumstances into one’s life.

Lucky Charm Spell:

You’ll need:

An iron locket (if possible, other metals are acceptable)

1 strawberry leaf

Chamomile tea (and a towel)

4 star anise

Green salt (grind together sea salt and basil)

Bloodroot powder

1 green candle

Cast your circle, tracing the outline with bloodroot powder: at each watchtower (east, south, west, and north) offer a star anise to each element and place them at each quarter. You may use your own words, but here is an example of how to address each element:

“Air, please blow away all negativity and leave only positivity.” “Fire, please burn a bright light and illuminate me for luck to find.” “Water, please flow like a river and help luck streaming in pure.” “Earth, please grow good happenings and lucky blooms.” In the center of the circle, wash your hands with the chamomile tea. This is to wash away bad luck which may be lingering and to encourage everything you touch to become lucky. Pat your hands dry with the towel if you want. Take the iron locket and rub it down with the green salt to purify it. Say as you do this: “With this green salt, I rub away negativity and leave positivity and luck, and harm it none so mote it be.” Light the green candle and hold the locket in the flame. Say: “With this fire, I create a beacon for luck.” When cool, put the strawberry leaf inside. Rinse off the green salt with the chamomile tea, and meditate, focusing on channeling lucky energy into your new charm. -NOTE- Do not use anything you may be allergic to. Remember to snuff out the candles after the spell has been cast with wet fingertips or a candle snuff: blowing out the candles may undo your magick. It does not have to be a locket: you may use anything metal which can hold a strawberry leaf inside. The best time to do this spell is: Sunday, dawn or noon, in spring or autumn, when the moon is waxing or full. -TIP- Do the spell when it’s raining so you can make the chamomile tea from rain water. Also, the rain can help wash away any lingering bad luck.
