“I bore this burden. For you.”
Editing Unraveled episodes to look like different types of media: “I read all 337 books in Skyrim so that you don’t have to” as a found footage horror tape.
This is a segment called: a friendly reminder that Brian can beatbox
I feel like this doesn’t even need a caption lmao
Night, are you here again?
Night, won't you let me in?
I have lied here waiting
But when I lay me down to rest
It's part of some eternal jest
Though since you left me here, I've grown
I still wish I weren't here alone
the original cyberpunk ttrpg takes place in 2020
Favorite Quotes from this month’s Overboard:
“Hurt me.” - Clayton Ashley
“We will have peace when your people are dead.” - Patrick “then Perish” Gill
“You’re my work wife! …Bitch!” - Simone de Rochefort
“When you say my last name, it hurts extra bad.” - Patrick Gill
“Which of you only tells truth and which one of you only tells lies?” - Patrick Gill
“No, my brain will explode if I touch this.” - Simone de Rochefort
“When will my ships return from the Warp?” - Brian David Gilbert
“Brian, you managed to betray me even when you weren’t trying.” - Simone de Rochefort
I also loved Brian dragging Jenna to victory just to spite Clayton.
what??? is happening here??? with his arms???
the theater kid slides part 2 electric boogaloo
nothing and I mean nothing - will ever be more powerful than clayton saying “I’m the masochist”
i do NOT have enough braincells to understand the rules of the game in the new polygon overboard, but goddamn if i don’t love watchin those funky polygon friends argue about the rules on a zoom call
→ id: Six gifs of Patrick Gill. He is thin and pale with chin-length dark brown hair and circular glasses. He is wearing a black graphic tee and sitting on a couch with a microphone in front of him. In the gifs, he fusses with his hair, pushing it back, deliberately messing it up, and finally pulling back the top half and smiling.
can i just like, notice that literally every single song the altogether (and even its individual members by which i mean bdg) has produced literally SLAPS?? like, they have no bad songs. what the crap.
like, yeah, you’ve got classics like clean slated state’s “do you need someone, do you need a new me?” but then also like
billy and anne, arguably one of my least favorite of their songs, still goes hard: “and i don’t care what you say/the world looks beautiful today”
this manhattan man has incredible lyrics: “what better place to make mistakes than an island already filled with heartbreaks?”
but then also, like, in older songs? like, ladybug? ladybug SLAPS. the rhythm! the groove! the beatboxing and the buildup! the line “everywhere i’m lookin i see polka dots!” a Bop!!
and then ofc you have bri’s other work, with things like the humble knight with beautiful imagery and a good story- “trapped in a hard shell of onyx and gold/with heart as light as a dove” and disclaimer, which literally sums up ever feeling i’ve ever felt about coming with a lot of baggage into a relationship: “‘cause i’ve never met a girl/that makes me feel i’m on a tilt a whirl/and i’ve never felt so pleasantly ill”
anyway what im saying is. i appreciate the hell out of the altogether for being incapable of producing bad music
im gonna say something controversial yet brave
LISTEN based almost entirely on looks and a chaotic good, undercover genius energy you cannot tell me it wouldn’t make sense for him to play shitty in some sort of live action adaptation
gill and gilbert but it's just Brian saying "Pat Gill" for a minute and a half
Polygon’s Overboard Episode 20 out of context (which you should watch btw)
If you’re bored during confinement and desperately looking for something fun to watch, I highly recommend the Unraveled series by Brian David Gilbert. The premise if that a very dapper gentleman decides to delve into video game lore in absurd detail to answer questions about them nobody asked as thoroughly as possible, and it’s hilarious.
He also occasionally strays a bit from this premise (like cooking and testing every recipe form Breath of the Wild, creating the perfect Pokérap or improving his own apartment thanks to the Sims) but the important thing is, he always puts a ludicrous amount of research into things no-one should care about, and makes you really care about it.
Here’s the first video, there should be a playlist for the full show on the YouTube page:
And if you don’t wanna watch the whole thing (but you’d be doing yourself a disservice), I have a few recommendations for what I’d consider “must watch”-es:
- Solving the Zelda Timeline in 15 Minutes (the first video and one that gives you a great idea of what to expect);
- Understanding Kingdom Hearts (and every other story);
- How to make a perfect E3 press conference (or drinking game);
- How to tell apart all 596 Fire Emblem characters (first one I saw and one of the funniest IMO. And I say that as someone who hardly knows anything about Fire Emblem);
- I used The Sims to perfect my apartment (I especially love that this one has a very positive morale to it);
- Waluigi, Unraveled.
Hope that’ll help at least brighten your day for some of you. Have fun and stay safe!

Posting this because I don’t think most of you know it exists
the degree that parents of young children seem to think Baby Shark came out of nowhere astounds me. this is a DECADES-OLD camp song, that has spanned generations.
quarantine got me memorizing bdg’s perfect pokerap.
