Iâm only on mobile for now, so Iâm sorry I canât super-boop, or Iâd give one to everyone đ„ș
Peaches!!!
I imagine, when they can, the Batch lands on planets where they can forage for supplies, and Tech teaches Omega all about what they can and canât eat
I think itâs also very important to consider the other side of this scene:
For us, as the audience, itâs very hard to extricate ourselves from the context we have of Crosshairâs actions. We know that Crosshairâs being torn between his loyalty to the Empire and his loyalty to his brothers. We know that Crosshair is having to make a choice for himself without considering how it will affect his squad. And we know that this is likely the first time in a long time that Crosshair has had to act on his own.
Hunter doesnât know these things. What Hunter does know is that he needs to do what is best for the squad: a squad that now has a child with a high-value target painted on her head. A squad who Crosshair has very recently been doggedly hunting down. Hunter has seen Crosshair attempt to kill Jedi, civilians, and has actually seen him kill his own men when they refused his orders.
What Hunter knows is that Crosshair has no qualms killing, and has been after the squad for at least a month if not more. His and the Batchâs reaction to Crosshair raising his rifle towards Hunter is entirely understandable.
And I think thatâs the part that hurts most.
There's something that struck me about this scene â Iâve always had one single interpretation for it, ever since I watched it for the first time but I havenât seen many people interpret it that way.
The thing is, I donât think Crosshair was thinking about saving Omega here. At least I donât think that was at the forefront of his mind. In fact, I donât think it occurred to him that he was repaying her for saving him until she brought it up on the platform.
What I believe Crosshair was doing in that scene was protecting Hunter. Because Hunter would have jumped after Omega and Crosshair knew it and he had to stop him from doing it. We know the water is crawling with sea monsters and littered with debris, not to mention that Hunter may well drown in his frantic urge to save Omega. He canât see into the water as well as Crosshair after all.
And I think thatâs the case because throughout those two episodes we see numerous instances of Crosshair protecting or attempting to protect his brothers, from trying to convince them that the Empire is safer to killing his own squad and helping them fight the simulation droids (in that scene he sends a bolt flying above Hunterâs shoulder to dispatch the droid heâs fighting, proving that heâs not just fighting in self-defense).
Thatâs why I think his brothersâ rejection hurts so much afterwards. Why he huddles down in the pod looking hurt and heâs definitely hurt there. This isnât about the Empire anymore this is about them. Theyâre telling him they donât trust him anymore even after heâs repeatedly proven he wonât hurt them now that he hasnât got his chip. Where they once let him use their shoulders as a rifle rest without a second thought (in TCW with Tech), they now turn their weapons on him just because the barrel of his gun got near Hunter.
(To be clear the angle makes it hard to tell just how close he was to aiming at him but I if you look closely youâll see that heâs aiming over Hunterâs shoulder and Hunter only gets in the way once he turns around.)
I also think thatâs the moment it starts to click - when Hunter turns to glare at him with suspicion we see Crosshair hesitate:
The camera lingers and something in his expression shifts, as if he's finally realizing what's going on.
So yeah, to me thatâs what this scene is about. Hunter goes to jump and Crosshairâs knee jerk response is to stop him somehow. Itâs not about Omega, itâs not about a life debt, itâs a simple response thatâs been ingrained into him over the years.
Only now it's being rejected.
âHELP HIM!â
Realizing I never posted this here. The Outpost was probably my favorite episode of Season 2 and Iâm really looking forward to Season 3

For a Fistful of Credits was inspired by the incredible art and writing of the fandom where creators turned our favorite space characters into rough cowboys and outlaws. Leave it to Imperial Tech to make vivisection sound sexy đ€Ł
I just want you to know I'm in love with you. That is all.
How considerate. Nothing else about you tipped me off.
I have fallen in love with @would-btwâs dukedom au over on the bird website. I wanted to see Simon feeling more comfortable during his pregnancy, safe and loved.
I had a ton of fun working on this, but donât ever ask me to do a patterned fabric again XD
All the flowers on Simonâs dress have meanings, btw :)
Oooh! Conspiracy and Espionage! Now thereâs a very interesting implication! Tell me, do you have any idea what I might have to gain from interfering with government operations half a universe away from me? Seems like an awful long distance for someone to cause any trouble overâŠ
And as for âhighly classifiedâ, if you know anything about the folks this side of the wormhole, youâd know that just makes most of us more desperate to find out whatâs going on. Conspiracy goes both ways, after all! Have you considered that I may just be a nosey outsider that doesnât know how to take ânoâ for an answer when it comes to knowledge? Or maybe youâre right to be suspicious after all, and I really am attempting to interfere in the Commanderâs research. Could it be that the Commander Tech was never my target in the first place, assuming I am an enemy agent, as you say? Youâve opened a broad spectrum of possibilities where I was simply curious about the Commanderâs research. I do hope you donât waste too much time on little, ole me, sir.
Out of curiosity, do you have any theories on what it is about being an Imperial that makes you so much more attractive to people? The Rogue Clone Tech doesnât seem to have half as many thirsty people following him around, but nearly every one of your asks involves something. I suppose it could be that the non-imperial Tech has just as many and doesnât respond to them all. I donât know what his ask-box looks like. But you also flirt back far more often, which I suspects helps to fuel it. Any thoughts?
Do you not think any iteration of my exceptional self would attract as many loyal followers? @exceptionally-minded is just as capable of drawing attention, though he chooses to do so by playing do-gooder while frolicking around the galaxy Riot Racing and interfering with Imperial operations.
I am of a different mindset. This mindset also requires the use of a disclaimer on the HoloNet so as to insure nosey younglings below eighteen years of age are not tempted to embrace the dark side before it is permissible. You will find that @imperial-sniper, @imperial-strategist, @imperial-demolition-expert, and @imperial-tracker do the same.
Our differences are what makes us both unique. Perhaps my abundant magnetism and my affinity for what some may consider atrocious or perverse has something to do with it. Human beings are known to have a tendency to be fascinated with that which both frightens and excites them.
But do take a moment to reflect. What seems like flirting to you may very well be the fine art of coercion in practice. Affecting someone's mind without them being aware of it - and filling said person with the supposition that their thoughts and feelings are indeed their own - is a tactic that is easily employed in part because they so desire to be subverted willingly.
Food for thought: It is not I you should be questioning, but those who wish to grovel at my feet.
âCrosshair wasnât expecting that. He doesnât know what it is sheâs proud of, heâs just the same as heâs always been: ornery, cruel, fearful. He is not a good man. But if this little girl says sheâs found something to love in him, maybe⊠maybe there is hope for him after all.â
A friend of mine and I were messing around, and this idea struck me
