It's Dangerous To Go Alone! Take This

it's dangerous to go alone! take this

ig this is my sign to branch out to other fandoms like ive been meaning to but have been on the edge about haha

I hate the concept of blog purity, as in you are confined to your niche and shouldn't post things that are off-theme. Are you a brand? Are you making money off your little niche corner of Tumblr? No? Then why do you care if your blog is 100% thematic? I've seen so many people apologize for posting something that matters to them because it's not their normal content. This is your corner of the web, decorate it how you will and don't feel pressured to curate a single image of yourself

This will never NOT be funny

ID: Image of black letters with yellow outline in a transparent background that reads "Star Wars Writing Resources" /End ID.

Note: Since my old masterlist is getting notes again (and I'm hosting @tbb-appreciation-week this year), I thought it's a good time to release a new version with a lot more resources. If any of you know another site or thing that it's missing from the list, let me know and I'll include it!! [Altho, I'm getting this close 🤏 to the hyperlinks limit on this thing 😆]

Note 2: To avoid tagging the 3 people from whom I got multiple resources repeatedly, I've placed 1-3 asterisks between square brackets after the links, depending on the OP. I give the respective credit to them in a legend at the end of the post.

WRITING IN GENERAL (For those who don't want to die like Stormtroopers)

SlickWrite: Completely free; online. Checks grammar, punctuation, flow, and writing style according to different settings (including fiction writing).

ProWritingAid: [RECOMMENDED] One of the most thorough online proofreader I've ever used. Although when using a free account gives extremely thorough feedback, with +20 different in-depth reports, for only the first 500 words. However, you can earn a premium account license (for a year or for life) if you get 10 or 20 new users signing up for free; (if you wouldn't mind doing so using the link above and help me earn mine, please). The settings allow you to check your writing according to your needs, from general to formal to creative. It has a bonus that you can check depending on the genre you're writing. For example, in creative, you can choose romance or sci-fiction (there are 14 sub-genre in total). And just like google docs, you can share a document, and people can view, comment or edit it too.

LanguageTool: [RECOMMENDED] Another excellent proofreader. It also has a word limit in free accounts, but if you use the add-on for Google Docs, it counts each page as a new document, so hitting the word limit is nearly impossible. It helps you to rewrite a sentence (3 a day), even if it doesn't raise any flags; it's very useful for when your sentence is grammatically correct, but it doesn't feel quite right.

Grammarly, Hemingway Editor: No so great, but they do the basic job.

Listen...

Y'all I watched the episodes again today and... I have some thoughts regarding the elephant in the room.

Right off the bat, no, I still don't think Tech is dead. If you go to the reaction post I made right after I watched the episodes the first time, you'll see I'm not worried about him being dead at all (which explains the enthusiastic tone of it).

I wondered whether all the 'Tech's not dead' theories I've read here aren't clouding my judgement this time but I don't think that's the case.

In fact, I watched the episodes with my parents and the moment they showed the final scene with Omega on Tantiss, the one where she's looking around the lab and it's clear she's about to see someone she knows, my dad was like 'oh, Tech must be here'. So even from a casual viewer's pov, it doesn't look like our favorite genius is dead at all.

The very tone of the episode didn't suggest it either, it was just a bit too… rushed. Even if they gave his sacrifice the right respect in the moment, it doesn't feel like a character death moment with how things progress around it.

And here's the thing: I did have to hold back tears at some points but it wasn't where I thought it would be. I thought I'd fall apart when they lost Tech but it was in fact after that, when the team is trying to pick up the pieces after Omega wakes up.

So these episodes are meant to be emotional but the emotional impact, the moment you're given time to breathe, are when you sympathize with the people who're currently mourning Tech, not when you're supposed to mourn him.

We see closeups of their reactions, we see their feelings. We see Echo look at Tech's seat instead of getting a simple solo closeup of it. We see Hunter pick up his goggles, not a sad little lingering shot of them on the ground next to a battered body. All of it feels like the show is telling us yes, sympathize with these people, feel their pain, this is real for them... but not necessarily true overall.

The episode does a great job of conveying how the batch feels in those moments and you may argue that's a good way of making the audience grieve, a good way of conveying the gravity of the situation. But to me a character death is supposed to be a little bit more private. We're supposed to experience it for ourselves if it's meant to have any proper lasting impact. And yes, I know a lot of us are still shaken from it but remember: we're very attached to these characters and the show.

People like my dad however aren't as invested and for him, that didn't register as a character death. At all.

So if the writers play their cards right, they get our emotional response to what seems like a very plausible and dramatic character death while also not committing to it by giving any concrete evidence whatsoever.

As a result, those of us who sympathize with the batch or are invested in Tech's character will have the emotional response they're looking for (and our engagement on social media will boost the show's popularity, which is exactly what happened) while more casual viewers, like my dad, are presented with the mystery of 'hey what happened to Tech? oh, look it's Tantiss. is he on Tantiss? oh, not yet. wow I can't wait to find out'.

So honestly if this was the writers' plan all along... well played is all I can say.

if anyone wants to rant about space and black holes Lmk cause i could go on for hours about that type of stuff

Hi! can i get a blind date with a clone (if you feel like it <3)

i’m usually the mom of the group and i’m quite active! i enjoy cooking, reading, sports, and hanging out with friends and pets! i like to try and stay organized and in control but that doesn’t always happen. i’m talkative, i take care of my friends and family, and very oblivious to things romance wise lol. i love being active and hanging out with people but sometimes i get burnt out and just need some me time. my love language is quality time and physical touch!

Not me pushing these underrated clones on people until they're loved more... 😆

Your date is...

✨Boss!✨

Hi! Can I Get A Blind Date With A Clone (if You Feel Like It

This clone will appreciate your "mom" role with your friends; he'll probably even laugh out loud at the phrase. He hasn't heard that before, but now that you put it that way, he sees how much it applies to himself, too. Some days he feels like less of a boss and more like he's babysitting. This will launch you two into lively storytelling about your respective friends and all the shenanigans you put up with. But because you both care so much, too, you'll inevitably also end up talking about just how much your people mean to you, all the ways you willingly look out for them, etc.

There will be plenty of other topics you end up bonding over, such as your mutual values on staying active and keeping organized. The more you connect on, the more Boss becomes comfortable on the date. He says he doesn't have time to date, but deep down, he's a real softie who just doesn't know how to put himself out there. He'll enjoy your every smile, every brush of your hand as you pass the bread rolls, every "me too!" moment you share. He'll have a great time.

Boss is a very textbook kinda guy, so your date will have every cliche imaginable. Roses, candles, jazz in the background, the works. It may not feel very personal to you, but thought and effort was still put into every detail. And besides, it's only a first date. I'm sure if you asked to go on more, he'd start to work in more personal things as he gets to know what you like. The more time he spends with someone, the more natural their connection feels.

Want to be set up on a blind date with a Star Wars character?

DO YOU REALIZE WHAT WE'VE DONE?!

Collectively, as a fandom, with the wonderful variety of talents that we represent?!

We've taken the source material (TCW and TBB in this case) and expanded it into this whole world, fleshing out each character with layers and layers that somehow all go together. We took a few scenes and created a ripple effect of art pieces, fanfics, mood boards, playlists, one-shots, comic strips, and so much more... and it all FITS.

Like, I think of any one of these beloved characters, and they exist not only on the screen but in this whole expanded world where we somehow all got the same ideas about them and ran with it.

It's an incredible thing to be a part of. <3

So here's to you -- artists, writers, musicians, and creatives of all types. Give yourself some credit and reblog to spread the love.

DO YOU REALIZE WHAT WE'VE DONE?!

hang on I’m trying to see something

don’t tell me the name of your pet, just tell me in the tags the name you call them that’s got nothing to do with their actual name
