Nuala Archer, From The hour of Pan/amá; “Longing for community, Portrait Series: Plague of Inc.’est”
You can love yourself and still desire to change. I love my garden, but I plant new things constantly.
My love doesn't require immutability.

• Tarot apps that give you a card pull for the day or let you do readings
•Apps that give you affirmations, guided meditations, etc. so you don’t have to search much for something to follow and get overwhelmed by choice.
•Drink sun or moon water, bonus if you add healing or energetic intent into it.
•If you need to cleanse and don’t have the energy, just let some incense burn, your oil diffuser run with cleansing oils, or take advantage of my personal favourite “lazy” option and let belongings cleanse on some selenite.
•We all know this but tea/coffee magic is great for when you’re low energy, especially since you’ll likely be drinking these for comfort anyway. If you don’t drink these don’t forget you can put intent into any food or drink, these are things you’re ingesting so you’re letting that intent go into you, think of ways to take advantage of that! (Bonus again for using sun/moon/etc water for drinks!)
•If you need to sleep but need to communicate with a deity/guide/etc invite them to communicate to you in your dreams. Take care of yourself first and let yourself rest but sometimes there’s moments where you need to talk to them and are struggling to find the energy.
•Simplify offerings to match your energy level, whether that’s saying you can’t give anything today, or finding something easy for you like a fresh glass of water, some herbs, whatever works with your needs.
•Audio books, podcasts, and youtube videos are great for when you want to learn but don’t have the brain power to read and research much, especially when you’re in an emotional rut vs. simply taking a few days off because you burnt yourself out. You can listen to these in bed, eyes closed, get those good feelings from being productive by learning more while not pushing yourself too far.
•Sigils are perfect low energy magic, even more so if you have sigils made ahead of time! Draw an energy sigil on you, put a pain-calming sigil under your pillow, a motivating sigil on your bath products to help you get through washing your face and/or brushing your teeth. Be mindful when using sigils off the internet that you don’t always know for sure what they’re made for, and it tends to work best when it’s your own. Using symbols like runes or bindrunes are also a great option if you want to play it safe but not make your own.
•rock. just pick the rocks you want in your pockets, on your bedside table. it’s pretty, it’s nice, they’re good fidgets, i don’t have to explain to other practitioners why crystals are great (coming from someone who barely uses them in their practice)
•Baths!! Baths aren’t as easy as a lot of people treat them, it’s totally okay to not have the energy to run a bath, especially if you want to wash out the tub a bit first, not have to deal with wet hair, all that. But if you can, it’s going to ease your body so much, use teabags you already have for simple herbs in the bath, water safe crystals, epsom salts are great for your muscles.
•Do some self love journaling, which is a great balance to doing shadow work. Look up self love journal prompts and go with whatever you can come up with things to write about.
•Music/sounds for everything! Youtube and other audio platforms are full of music and sounds that already are made with intention, or you can play intentionally to cleanse, protect, calm, bring joy, etc.
•Making online altar spaces or just collecting general fun inspiration, pinterest and tumblr are great for these!
•Sit outside, lay in the sun, watch the bugs, watch the weather, stare at the moon and stars.
Generally speaking, pet safety is important when it comes to hoarding plants and herbs, and cats in particular have extremely finicky little digestive systems. They’re obligate carnivores, so you should pretty much assume that you should keep them out of your planty stuff just in general. But here’s a list of potential spell ingredients that are particularly hard on our little black cat friends:
This is probably the most toxic vegetable group to cats. Even a small amount eaten can make them very sick and affect their red blood cell count.
This can be a confusing one because German chamomile is generally safe for pets but English/Garden/True chamomile can cause a lot of problems for both cats and dogs, even sometimes allergic reactions.
This can give cats skin reactions if they rub against it.
It’s pretty well known that chocolate is really toxic to both cats and dogs.
This again depends on the type of lily, but honestly your best bet is to avoid all of them. Easter lilies in particular are extremely dangerous for cats. Even just breathing the pollen can cause kidney failure.
This is another where you’ll want to take your cat to the vet immediately if they ingest any because even small amounts of alcohol can be deadly. Raw doughs that contain yeast will basically become alcohol in their bellies.
These ones aren’t as deadly but they will give your cat the shits.
Unfortunately your cat can’t toke, I know, this is a tragedy.
Can cause kidney failure.
Yes, our favorite banishing leaf will also banish your cat’s bowels. This is another diarrhea joke.
These flowers and houseplants can also be deadly to cats. Generally speaking, if you have cats, you should always research a houseplant before bringing it into your home, because these guys will often find a way to munch on them. It’s also helpful to keep houseplants away from curious cat level.
Pine needles aren’t really toxic to cats, but they’re dangerous for a cat to eat anyway because, well… they’re sharp and they could poke your cat’s insides if they swallow them. It’s grim to think about, so please be careful.
These are bad for your little friend’s liver.
PLEASE keep your cat out of your oils. They should not be ingesting any of that. Even strong smells and smoke cleansing can be hard on them, so be careful if you’re burning anything with them in the room.
This is by no means an exhaustive list (I mean it, cats are just notoriously averse to plants), but I tried to cover some of the particularly dangerous and common ones. A good rule of thumb is to 1) always research the plants you have around the house and 2) just straight up try to keep your cat out of herbs and non-meat foods and stuff like that. It’s just better to play it safe with these nosy little beasts!
It's sad how so many memories are never captured. It just gets lost in this eternal river of time. It just disappears with the person. The world will never get to see those beautiful memories.
so i don’t think a lot of people really understand how often south asian culture is misinterpreted and appropriated so i’m making a post about it right here.
any mention of third eyes
any mention of chakras
people wearing bindis when they shouldn’t be
fucking “om” or “aum” tattoos or appliques on things like yoga pants. do you know how fucking disrespectful it is to put a symbol that is so important to my religion and culture on the ass of some white chick’s yoga pants
people wearing maang tikka when they shouldn’t be
anklets with bells on them are very important to the dance culture of south asia and it’s disrespectful to wear them outside of a traditional dance setting
feel free to add any more that i missed because i’m fucking tired
The moon is an important part of witchcraft, the phase of the moon has its own spiritual meaning and practices that should be performed during that phase. This isn’t a fixed rule, but it gives your magick a little boost that it may need to come into fruition. Being in tune with the moon makes us stronger.
Checking the moon daily is a great way to keep track of the moon phases, along with having a moon calendar in your phone. I also track the sun on my phone, but that isn’t necessary, it’s my personal preference.
The new moon is a time of new beginnings and setting intentions. Some use this as a time of contemplation and self reflection, but this can also be done in later moon phases.
This is the official moon phase for setting intentions, but I always do it in the new moon. This can also be used as a time of action, to act on your intentions
The moon for making decisions is the first quarter moon, this is a great time to begin acting on your intentions if you haven’t yet.
This is a time to further refine your intention and fine tune it into exactly what you want, revisit your new moon and crescent work to do this accurately.
Full moon is a time of manifesting, sealing intentions, and release. Let go of your expectations and allow the universe to simply make it happen
This is a moon phase to show gratitude for the universe, the people around you, yourself, and everything you care for. Gratitude is so important and is underrated in my opinion.
The last quarter signifies forgiveness. What is still hurting you? What can you let go of? Remember that forgiveness isn’t for the person in question to feel better, it is only for you. Also remember that you do not have to forgive someone if you feel they do not deserve it.
This moon phase is about surrendering. Hold gratitude in your heart and release what doesn’t serve you as you move into the darkness of the new moon. This is also a great time to reflect on yourself.
